What absolutely breaks me is the fact that no matter what He Xuan did, he would lose anyways. If he hadn't taken revenge, his own conscience would've haunted him forever. When he did take his revenge, he lost his only friend who cared about him in the whole entire world.
That one decision from Shi Wudu doomed him to eternal damnation and it was indeed irreversible.
