@@frogchamp286 No. Not excessive. I played the original when I was a kid and have kept up with the series, wishing every time that they'd just make a big compilation where they take good boards and the best minigames and stick them together. When they did the "Top 100" game and it was lazy and sucked and totally bombed, I genuinely felt sad, pretty much resigning to the probability that they'd never want to try again. But they did, and this one looks infinitely better... like they actually listened to fan feedback and made a real "best of" Mario Party game that ticks nearly all my boxes of what I always hoped it would be. I have no complaints, and I genuinely can't wait til this comes out!
plus in my eyes: this series was desperate for a new entry that was good after the last 3 entries on console where mediocre (yes Super Mario Party is a mediocre entry in my opinion, i wasnt a fan of it with how incomplete it felt)
Still waiting for DLC. You know, items, boards, minigames and more from the DS, wii, gamecube and N64 games. How about amiibo party? That had so much potential, having all 10 boards into one big board to explore. How about bringing back 50 turn games? What about duels and 2V2 games? Come on Nintendo, this game is SO BARE BONES. "Celebrate Mario party both new and old?" More like "just give the game 75% N64 stuff. Nobody will care".
NDCube is just to lazy to give us any DLC that's why I see no point in getting the next Mario Party cause they will just abandon that one after launch as well
The hubworld looks amazing, and only the winner got coins after the minigame. I also saw on twitter that you can turn off bonus stars. This truely is turning out to be the best Mario Party EVER!!!!!! ^•^ (Also on further inspection, it looks like you can start games with 0 coins + add turns mid-game!!!)
@RuleBreaker XO1 i mean, i personally hate that feature, so just glad it's customizable. So people like you get to play with it. And people like me gets to turn it off:)
@RuleBreaker XO1 new bonus stars do suck. Old bonus stars is super well designed though. I do hope we at least get to turn off specific bonus stars and only have coin, happening, and mini game stars on.
Adding turns mid game is hilarious btw. I can imagine the begging from the players who are behind. Forming a coalition and running a vote to add more turns. Watching as the coalition crumbles as second place moves to first and the cycle continues.
@RuleBreaker XO1 In Super Mario Party, the bonus stars were out of control. You’d literally be winning by 2 stars and it would always give the AI 3 bonus stars so that it won. The whole game was pointless. It was like playing the game and then rolling a dice to see who won regardless of what happened in that game.
Diddy Kong: **Essentially gets replaced by Birdo** _"A small price to pay for salvation."_ Although seriously, hoping the monke gets in for DLC or something.
The N64 trilogy was definitely the best Mario Party era. Later games got too slow paced, and such, but still had some good minigames. It's nice to see a game focused on the original trilogy, and see that peaceful Mushroom village menu again. If it has a similar ending credit sequence to the original Mario Party 1, with the same music (updated of course) I'll cry tears of joy.
@@Herozonex200 do you REALLY think "Mario Party: Ultimate World Tour's" going to be released in the near future spotlight, just because it's the third video game for the Nintendo Switch, since "Mario Party Superstars" started? Well, the only way to make it happen, is to follow the example of the previous generations. And the All Star X Rival Battles are featured in that video game. This was the exact reason why it's so important.
Please add more boards as DLC, preferably one more from 3 as well as redone ones from the GameCube era(maybe even throw in Koopa's Tycoon Town for good measure, if possible considering the lack of MP8 representation). This game looks great and deserves more than just five boards!
that would be cool if they brought in boards from the other entries like Pirate Dream, Bowser Nightmare, Bowser Land (the happiest place on earth), Faire Square and Neon Heights

@@lyrix19 Except they’re remade from the ground up and there are some obvious changes in their layout and design compared to the original. I've just bought this game and played it for a couple of hours and loved it! It's definitely a love letter to those of bow classic and modern Mario Party Games
this game is looking really good. While Super Mario Party was really lacking in the board department, its graphics and UI were great and now we're getting the best of both worlds.
This is a fun game. I've played and had every single mario party game that has ever come out on console so to see them bring back old boards and use mini games from different generations was really cool to see. I'd love to see more boards come out as dlc in the future along with some of the features from older games. Like the ability to wear costumes. Hiring boo to rob a fellow player or even having night and day on there and the difference in the gameplay it had to offer like in 7 I believe? This is nostalgic and brings back so many memories
My older cousins, Bella and Jess, Showed me this game. When she left, I was like I want that game!!! Then, a few days later I got the game for Christmas! It's SO much fun.
I really hope this gets DLC. The number of boards was Super Mario Party’s biggest flaw. Plus, I really want to get Luigi’s Engine Room: my favorite board, plus the music rocks
Well, that had four boards, and this game has five, so it's already better on that front. Are you sure quality in general isn't Super Mario Party's biggest flaw though? Even just talking about boards, I certainly prefer the designs of these N64 ones to anything the current studio could turn out. Good thing they thought of just remastering old boards instead. That's the kind of lazy I'm actually in support of, as it ironically means getting a better product.
This was a complete shock seeing it advertised on tv a few days ago, I had no idea. I bought a switch last year so this works out well. The one thing I can't find anything on is whether bowser roams around on horrorland if a player (wins) his item. Very minor thing I remember playing mp2 growing up. Also I don't know if battle minigames are a thing but haven't looked. Honestly I've always thought it would be so cool to see the best boards and minigames rolled into 1 game. So I do hope this game gets some future dlc because there was so many great ideas through the mario parties I played 1-7.
Nintendo where is the DLC only a few more boards needed please as a minimum, more mini games would be cool. It’s as if you don’t want to take peoples money, also the boards where the stars move or swap are the best so include those please. Mario golf had some good additions close after release so surely Superstars needs some DLC. Don’t make the mistake of leaving it too long (Mario kart cough cough 😳) . Also remakes or ports of older Mario parties would be great for the switch come on Nintendo make it happen DLC paid or free is what we all want 👍🏻👌🏻
The most shafted Mario spin off game. It needed more and it needs DLC. Need another 4 boards, 1 MP, 1 MP2, and 2MP3, then more characters. It just sucks how limited the game ended up being and how much wasted potential it had.
As a Mario Party fan, very excited about this and will be getting it. For Nintendo, here's features that would elevate this game to the next level: Add more customization to rules, if I'm hosting let me choose which bonus stars appear, let me choose which minigames are blacklisted, these house rules would go a long way. Add more maps and items, even if it's paid DLC I'll buy it, I don't want the opportunity for this to be the best MP game to be squandered. Give us the content! IK it's from the GameCube MPs but please bring back dueling. That's really all I could think of, which is rare because normally I'm really critical. This just makes me happy.
Bonus stars are a toggle option. Minigame packs are a thing again. All the confirmed items are on the wiki (there's like 15 rn or smth) and this trailer alone just showed us the boo bell's new design. Duels minigames are back
@@mtj8870 I'm glad to hear that. But a bonus star selection is not the same as a bonus star toggle, and a mini game pack is not the same as a custom mini game blacklist. I already knew about those options, and they seem limiting
I'M GLAD THIS IS NOTHING LIKE SUPER MARIO PARTY (2018) BECAUSE IN THAT GAME YOU HAD TO USE MOTION CONTROLLS AND IN THIS GAME YOU CAN PLAY IT IN HANDHELD MODE
50% sure that there’s either going to be an unlockable 6th board or dlc boards. I think one more Mario Party 3 board is likely, Waluigi Island is what I think, but it could be something else. Also hope more Mario Party 8 mini games are added.
@@bryancoyle And kids these days don't know what they've been robbed of. I can’t believe that this game looks so good, the visuals look beautiful, I thought that the mini games speed of the characters look slow but watching this trailer it is good, the boards look great and it looks like it improved on a lot of the boards anyway. Mushroom Village is coming back and it looks better than ever. I honestly think that this could be game of the year for me. Thoughts?

"Win minigames to earn in-game coins" So wait, some people thought that if you win a minigame in Mario Party, Nintendo would send ten gold coins to your house?
Who else is super happy and excited to see dice blocks that are back to rolling between 1-10??? And also, traditional board gameplay where everybody rolls a die and moves around independently rather than all 4 players being on a kart and all having to move together at the same time?
20 coins for stars instead of 10 coins, 10 dice blocks, and being able to (I think) use the pro controller and not be forced to use the joycons. So many issues from Super Mario Party were fixed in this one, thank god.
We need a DLC, please. Plot twist: they made this vid before smash ultimate they just didn’t publish it and for the audio of the announcer saying piranha plant they took the audio of this guy in the trailer saying piranha plant and gave it some chromatic effects to make it sound like the announcer in smash ultimate.
@@Sarefy831 exactly
I really do feel like this will be the best Mario party in a while
The best since 7 it seems.
@@supermariofan03 Mario Party 8 was good.
@@Swisha16 8 is really crusty tbh
Mario party 8 is the last good mario party but I would say 8 is just ok because the candy items were nowhere near as good as the orbs from 6 and 7 and the motion controls were annoying and not fun
@@vincentbranciforte9832 I still really enjoyed. Only problem is that the few minigames that sucked, really sucked.
🇺🇲:Hey Americans I'm from Brazil Thanks for making this version of Mario party in Portuguese
I'm so glad HorrorLand is back. Totally buying this.
This is the Mario Party I've been begging for for _nearly decades,_ and depressedly resigning myself to never existing. But lo and behold, here it is. I can't wait!!!
a bit excessive dont ya think?
Only thing missing in my opinion is Mario's Rainbow Castle. Otherwise, I agree with you wholeheartedly!
@@SomeTH-camTraveler yeah ik what you mean, top 100 sucked hard haha
plus in my eyes: this series was desperate for a new entry that was good after the last 3 entries on console where mediocre (yes Super Mario Party is a mediocre entry in my opinion, i wasnt a fan of it with how incomplete it felt)
NDCube is just to lazy to give us any DLC that's why I see no point in getting the next Mario Party cause they will just abandon that one after launch as well
@@MikeDelorme-t2u then what's with the "includes ingame purchases"?
@NGO9000 not sure perhaps it was included by accident?
I love how the announcer sounds like he's from the 1980's to 1990's.
I'm so hyped for this game. I grew up playing the originals, so this will be a treat!
The voice actor for this advertisement really gave his all!
Yes, he doesn't sound bored like the rest of the other voice actors. Made me even more excited for the game!
The hubworld looks amazing, and only the winner got coins after the minigame. I also saw on twitter that you can turn off bonus stars. This truely is turning out to be the best Mario Party EVER!!!!!! ^•^
(Also on further inspection, it looks like you can start games with 0 coins + add turns mid-game!!!)
@@FreyjaHerself The fact you can save progress for online matches with friends is amazing. Understandable that it's not in for random match making.
Diddy Kong: **Essentially gets replaced by Birdo**
_"A small price to pay for salvation."_
Although seriously, hoping the monke gets in for DLC or something.
He could be an unlockable character
I hope he’ll be there
The N64 trilogy was definitely the best Mario Party era.
I still liked mario party 8. Everything after was a let down.
How well did that work out last time?
Also, MP8 sucks.
that would be cool if they brought in boards from the other entries like Pirate Dream, Bowser Nightmare, Bowser Land (the happiest place on earth), Faire Square and Neon Heights
@@AwakeTheFall
Tycoon Town is one of the better boards in the game, in my opinion.
Also, what last time? They've never done this with MP before lmao
Tycoon Town would be awesome. A 30-turn game on that board was basically digital monopoly lmao
@@greathorn
I know they'd definitely have to rework a bunch of things, but I think it'd be cool, replacing candy shops with item shops as well as placing two or three Koopa Banks in.
As a veteran Mario Party gamer, I welcome this new game with open arms! I’ve been filling the void of not being able to play MP games with the second N64 game on the Wii virtual console lately. The boards and mini games look beautiful! I can’t wait to them all in full HD!
I can already hear my friends saying curse words.

I haven’t been this excited for a MP game in pretty much a decade! Also, who else noticed the MP3 title theme in the beginning!🤩
So excited for this game! Already got it pre-ordered and everything. Also, just the fact that you can play this in bed in handheld mode is so rewarding and brings back so many good memories like staying up all night and playing Mario Party DS with my little brother.
Waiting a few months when they will put this game on sell…….oh wait its nintendo ☹️ they wont reduce the price unless u buy used lol
I do believe that only five boards is a little bit lackluster. I’d say 8 would be perfect.
I think (hopefully) more classic boards will be added.
It's 100% lackluster. Especially when these boards are regurgitated from past titles
@@gametendough3380 It wont. They didn't give the previous one any added content.
@@lyrix19 Except they’re remade from the ground up and there are some obvious changes in their layout and design compared to the original. I agree a few extra boards would be great, but the collection we have so far isn’t bad to me especially since the boards are far bigger than SMP. A bit lackluster, but far from bad.
Damn i geuss every game that isn't mario party 1 is lackluster for having 5-6 boards
I've just bought this game and played it for a couple of hours and loved it! It's definitely a love letter to those of bow classic and modern Mario Party Games
this game is looking really good. While Super Mario Party was really lacking in the board department, its graphics and UI were great and now we're getting the best of both worlds.

@@NickMario1 definitely will! Not long till it’s out now!
Birdooooo I missed him/her so much! That was my every race character on Mario kart Wii
Same! Hoping for DLC boards. I would love to see MP6 Snowflake Lake return.
@Chaos of madness there will be in game purchases as it states in the Eshop
Well, that had four boards, and this game has five, so it's already better on that front. Are you sure quality in general isn't Super Mario Party's biggest flaw though? Even just talking about boards, I certainly prefer the designs of these N64 ones to anything the current studio could turn out. Good thing they thought of just remastering old boards instead. That's the kind of lazy I'm actually in support of, as it ironically means getting a better product.
🥺 can’t wait to have a room full of adults yelling at each other 😭😭😭😭❤️
This was a complete shock seeing it advertised on tv a few days ago, I had no idea.

Y'all better be paying this voiceover actor well. He IS the trailer.
This game destroys families… love it
The most shafted Mario spin off game. It needed more and it needs DLC. Need another 4 boards, 1 MP, 1 MP2, and 2MP3, then more characters. It just sucks how limited the game ended up being and how much wasted potential it had.
As a Mario Party fan, very excited about this and will be getting it. For Nintendo, here's features that would elevate this game to the next level:
Add more customization to rules, if I'm hosting let me choose which bonus stars appear, let me choose which minigames are blacklisted, these house rules would go a long way.
Basically everything you just said is in the game
Bonus stars are a toggle option. Minigame packs are a thing again. All the confirmed items are on the wiki (there's like 15 rn or smth) and this trailer alone just showed us the boo bell's new design. Duels minigames are back
@@mtj8870 I'm glad to hear that. But a bonus star selection is not the same as a bonus star toggle, and a mini game pack is not the same as a custom mini game blacklist. I already knew about those options, and they seem limiting
@@iminumst7827 true
I'M GLAD THIS IS NOTHING LIKE SUPER MARIO PARTY (2018)
BECAUSE IN THAT GAME YOU HAD TO USE MOTION CONTROLLS
AND IN THIS GAME YOU CAN PLAY IT IN HANDHELD MODE
50% sure that there’s either going to be an unlockable 6th board or dlc boards. I think one more Mario Party 3 board is likely, Waluigi Island is what I think, but it could be something else. Also hope more Mario Party 8 mini games are added.
Hope it’s deep blooper sea
Can you Imagine it be Bowser Land from MP2? I loved that one so much
Unlockable? I haven't heard that phrase since the wii. Now a days everything that used to be unlockable is hiding behind a paywall.
@@bryancoyle And kids these days don't know what they've been robbed of. @@iaxacs3801 Most likely yeah. Let’s just hope it isn’t like Super Mario Party where it comes out too late for anyone to care.
It won't have gcn boards they're too mechanically different. Cry about it
I can’t believe that this game looks so good, the visuals look beautiful, I thought that the mini games speed of the characters look slow but watching this trailer it is good, the boards look great and it looks like it improved on a lot of the boards anyway. Mushroom Village is coming back and it looks better than ever. I honestly think that this could be game of the year for me. Thoughts?
Bought this for the kids and wife for Christmas. As I’m watching this video I’m ready to open their present, and put my children through a loosing streak. So many memories as a kid!
Wow, the pose that rosalina does when she wins is pretty cool
"Win minigames to earn in-game coins" So wait, some people thought that if you win a minigame in Mario Party, Nintendo would send ten gold coins to your house?
With the rise of mobile games it wouldn't be surprising if some people thought you'd earn currency to spend in the game.
Kids on Christmas Morning 2021: "Mom I asked for Mario Party Superstars not Super Mario Party" >:(
