I think a scythe is more appropriate sometimes. You would have been able to collect the cuttings, too. That healthy yard doesn't look like it needs more mulch.

It’s funny how many people are telling you how to do your job when y’all did amazing. I just would’ve bagged the grass at the end but that’s more time and effort
My father was an arborist and a landscaper, we had a landscaping company that I grew up in. My mom did the office stuff, ran the books/payroll and placed the client list and work for my dad for the week. We regularly, (in the Winter when my dad was "off") go to the Morton Arboretum here in Chicagoland to do research. He never stopped learning, and I went to work with him from when I was a small child. My job was flower planting, I'd plant edges of begonias, petunias, and the like. My mom taught me how to plant flower pots with good combinations of flowers; design and balance. At any rate, when I saw this, I was like OMG. There needs to be new turf setup. You can save this, but it's a lot of work, better to cut it down and take it out, put new turf down, or place several shrubs, and low ornamental trees. Put in raised beds for veggies/herbs. Maybe some fruit bushes along the fence, and a perennial garden on one or two sides. I'd cut down on the lawn area unless this is a fixer upper for young families that might want grass as a play area and have a swing set/sandbox setup for the children to play in. We lived near a big easement field near a railroad, so my dad always had my uncles and family friends out to play horseshoes. He also laid out another area for volleyball. Then, on our driveway, we had a shuffleboard he spray-painted on the cement. We also had a croquet set for another area in the backyard grass area. Downstairs had a ping pong table. If you could not find something fun to do at our house during a birthday party, etc. it was your own darn fault. But that is what having a good big backyard can do for you. Thanks for keeping it up!
Not withstanding this first mow, and if you’ll be mowing it regularly, this is an easy account. Flat, no trees, no shrubs, etc. By the same token, the way it initially looked, I won’t put too much hope in that customer and charge on this initial job with “hope” out of the equation. Y’all did a great job, hope customer appreciates it.
I just started my lawn maintenance service a month ago, after being a owner operator truck driver, sold my truck and happily mowing lawns, making them look beautiful. Mow, edge, blow... Never been happier, I took a big pay cut, but never been happier. Just picked up a 50 gasoline store contract... only been in bussines ONE MONTH!! Got lucky I guess..

Great job on the yard it look good after all the hard work you put in it. When I get yards like this I mow it as high as I can then pick up the stuff in the yards then cut again
I know people have joked about it on other videos, I am guilty of it my self from time to time, but you 2 actually pulled it off. You 2 kicked up a weed eater and a mower, good job.
Good job, I used to have a lawn service and I agree. People will will try and deceive you into a lower rate by saying they'll use you from now on....only to go back to their normal crew who maybe charged what the job was worth (more then they wanted to pay) so they shopped around for a cheaper crew. Keep up the good work. Love seeing melanin people out here. Had to search a lot of videos to fine black men/women doing this type of work as youtube doesn't promote them and they never randomly come up in my recommendations.
@@jimmyjokes763 I get plenty of jobs, part of it is being upfront and honest about my charges. Also I usually double my normal rate for yards egregiously overgrown mainly due to unseen hazards.

Amen
Yeah you guys did a wonderful job 😂 gotta have mad skills to cut grass
I just started my lawn maintenance service a month ago, after being a owner operator truck driver, sold my truck and happily mowing lawns, making them look beautiful. Mow, edge, blow...
Never been happier, I took a big pay cut, but never been happier. Just picked up a 50 gasoline store contract... only been in bussines ONE MONTH!! Got lucky I guess..
I also do this work. I love it. I currently work for someone else. I want to start my own business but it's hard trying to save and pay bills especially for the right equipment they use. If you can donate anything would be a blessing and if not thank you.
You opened that gate and went around the corner and the first thing that came to mind was "Welcome to the Jungle!"
Where they have fun n games lol
1st thing came to my mind is this dont make no dayum sense 😩😩
Great video and great job on that overgrown property.
I like doing these kind of jobs the best.nobody else in my area will do jobs like this.they won’t even give a quote.i like the buzz it gets going around the neighborhood after I do one of these jobs and the before/after contrast.
Keep the videos coming
Us viewer love to see tall grass = )
We now live in a moment in history that we can all comfortable sit in any part of the world and watch some random Joe mow his lawn. Great times to be alive
That was a dangerous backyard.
Glad you managed safely. Also, great job!
Thanks!
I have done worst. I currently work for someone else but want to start my own business. It's hard when you are working for someone and trying to pay bills and trying to save up for this type of equipment. If you can donate anything would be a blessing and if not thank you anyway.
As someone that used to do this, this is just awesome to watch
Dam I know, I’m getting old is when I’m starting to watch mowing lawns lol
and we appreciate you!
This was calming and satisfying to watch
👍
Looking at the car, compared to the yard, that's definitely a bachelor's pad.
Lol, No it's not
Great job on the yard it look good after all the hard work you put in it. When I get yards like this I mow it as high as I can then pick up the stuff in the yards then cut again
That’s the type of people that cut the front and not the back
Exactly only the front yard
If the HOA or people see the front yard bad they can fine you but no one sees the back so no need to cut it until you want to sell it 😂🤣
Great job Johnny !
I salot to all the landscapers in the world watching all the way hawaii..
Keep I'm up boss man.
My favorite part in the last line so satisfying
This was awesome
Almost as awesome as tacos 🌮
I know people have joked about it on other videos, I am guilty of it my self from time to time, but you 2 actually pulled it off. You 2 kicked up a weed eater and a mower, good job.
This reminds me of what on of saving greens previous employee use to say, “ it’s always harder in the rear”
My ex said that too 💦
Wow! That was a great job.
Thank you!
Owners should have picked up all that crap in the back, I’d charge them extra for having to clean up after them
It’s customers like that that keep y’all in business thank God for them🤑
Yepp I had to stop taking them jobs on. Hurt my equipment so much. Great job for how tall in a confined area.
What a nice job!
😃👍
Nice operation you have.
I really appreciate it, thanks!
Ahhh yes that's more like the kind of overgrown I'm used to. Not all this sill 3" growth thing lol. Great work mate ;D
REAL TIME & SOUNDS are the best
I always charge more if I have to pick up junk and move objects.
1 cent for eat object
Why like all your doing is picking up one or 2 things
And that is why you have no job. You want to charge extra for your "job"
jimmy jokes exactly
@@jimmyjokes763 I get plenty of jobs, part of it is being upfront and honest about my charges. Also I usually double my normal rate for yards egregiously overgrown mainly due to unseen hazards.
I love the way there's just casually a lawn mower hidden in the grass
I like how his speechless as he goes threw the gate
😂✊👍
He was cursing he just muted it 😂🤣
Crazy!! That mower didn't slow up a bit. Good job guys.
That lawn was in rough shape Q did a good bush hog. In time y’all will have it in good shape!
That lawn didn't stand a chance against you guys. Well done job.
Ah, look at all the pretty yellow flowers!😄
😆
Touch job I get these all the time smh. Great job guys
This going to look amazing 😎💪👍
I appreciate it
7:50 I understand that feeling, I hate how people let there yards get out of control and leave stuff sitting in the overgrown grass
🤔👍
I agree
I've done worst yards than this and made peanuts. When you work for someone else you not making anything they do. I want to start my own business but it's hard trying to save up for the right equipment they use while paying bills. If you can donate anything would be a blessing and if not thank you anyway.
Y’all guys inspire me too start my you tube channel , up loading videos
I feel your pain.lots of my new customers and I began our relationship just like this😂
You guys killed it...looks great
jonny, that ain't no lawn, that's a jungle. when you have to move cinder blocks to open the gate, it just gets worse from there. I hope you charged appropriately, risk vs reward. your risks are high, could seriously damage your equipment and yourselves too. I mean dayum, that's some crap right there hey! did one heck of a job, all things considered.
I had a realtor complain the yard was almost 2 feet or more in areas. And there was bricks angle iron in the tall grass. Luckily I did hit something. Still after over a month of service I still find things in the yard. Endless!
I like how the push mower buried under all that grass
Looks like a lot of the yards I’ve had to clean up over in Berwick Lakes. I don’t know what’s worse, snakes, rats, bricks or ropes. You’ll find a nice variety buried in a yard like that. Minimum $150 initial clean up fee.
Good job guys.
Pop smoke 😎✌🏼🇺🇸
I currently do this type of work. I love it. I work for someone else. I want to start my own business but it's hard trying to save up and pay bills working for someone else. If you can donate anything it would be a blessing and if not thank you anyway.
Q handled that back yard like a Boss! Im sure Mr Curtis from Weed Whacker is proud of that young man!!!
Wow ! Been there before with 1st time cuts, gotta walk it for things in grass like bricks, chains, toys, ropes, and poopy.lol
This is the quality content I subscribed for!
Curious to know how much would you guys charge just for the back yard alone
#1 Rle always do a walk through of the yard looking for obstacles in the yard, boulders , rocks toys rags etc..
