The answer to your question, is NO you are not the only one who loves the sound of engine power reduction after takeoff! Great video as always, those seat map graphics are truly stellar. The seating looks awesome but my jaw dropped at the fact that they took your drink away and didn't offer service...that's unbelievable
The amount of time I 'waste' when editing 777 reviews listening to it over and over again may become a problem someday 😂. For the fare- I do a lot of research but this one was a bit of luck. I saw a post in one of the many Facebook airline/travel/business class groups that I follow about sub $800 fares. Did some digging and then essentially planned my trip around it. One of those (mostly) one off things. Only from Rio, had to have a super long connection and wasn't available (when I tried at least) booking directly with LATAM. Thanks very much for the feedback and for watching! 🙏
Hi - I live in Brazil and have been travelling this flight via business class for the last 12 years. Few people have really reviewed LATAM, and what this cabin is now is premium business, rather than the previous business. I've never had issues with being served more drinks, and the wine is always in a large glass :) Also, in the last year or so I've found the food has really improved massively on board. One thing I would add is that the window window seats seem to have a bit more sp[ace due to the gap between the window and leg bit, compared to aisle seats (if that makes sense). And yeah, the LATAM lounge is fantastic compared to most other business lounges I've tried.
I really enjoyed your video and the graphics that you did to show the seat plan.Very helpful. Thank you. Absolutely stunned that you were refused a drink so that has put me off using Latam. The food looked dreadful and very meagre. Really like your style of vlog. So many people who do them make it all about themselves, unlike you. No gimmicks, just useful information. Safe travels.
@@stuartharry2148 Never said it was a fantastic airline, and first off, that wasn't the airlines fault that was the flight attendants fault. Most flight attendants will offer 2nd drinks.

Wasn’t dirty, that’s how. It was the after effects of I suppose them using a chemical cleaner to remove paint or something which damaged the table’s surface.
refusal of a second drink - shocking to hear . I would avoid to fly Latam purely for this reason. Thank you for sharing & Thank you for the correct naming the largest city of my beloved Viet Nam Sai Gon ( SGN) not its current name
A case of an over-reaching policy and poor communication, I think. Besides that awkward moment it was a great flight (and an even greater value). Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I was literally about to purchase these tickets for a 50 percent reduction. Now I will just fly economy. Refusing a drink in economy is bad enough. Disgusting.
To be fair, as I said in the review this was filmed in March and it’s very likely their Covid protocols have been updated by now. But, for the price I paid, I’d do it again even if all I was allowed to have was water 😂
5:22 Looks a bit dusty, they need to do a better job cleaning it. 9:27 What is the whitish substance on the bottom right of the table? Surprised that you gave a 10 for cleanliness. No side of turbulence this time! :-)
For better or worse, the dust wasn't actually dust. Tried to wipe it clean after shooting the area and it wasn't budging. Same for the white smudge on the table. Had we not been in an airplane I'd say both were some kind of paint splatter/smudging, but honestly- not sure. The cabin could perhaps use a good detailing, but in terms of 'removable' dirt, it was pretty clean. Thanks for watching 🙏
Thanks for the review. LATAM’s lounge at GRU is the nicest, the AMEX one, the worst. My last long haul from GRU to LHR was back in August, A.F.. Apart from the miserable lounge< where I quickly exited the whole experience was fantastic. Service/food/comfort couldn’t ask for more. In addition no Covid nonsense. LATAM have the advantage of a direct flight but I’ll take AF every time from now on. The layover in Paris was only 1.5 hours so no problem at all.
@@tfft When i recently flew latam, in january, to lisbon, they had snacks and you could order drinks anytime. They were also very polite and caring, and it was overall a great flight.
Great review - Having flown Latam several times AKL SCL I’ve found them hit and miss and the food service to be sub par in J and the crew always desperate to complete the “efficient “ service and lights out for 9 hours !! Not again thank you very much
No your not the only one loving that engine sound after take off. I had mixed feelings about this flight, thought you might have been a bit generous with the score UNTIL l realised it was an $800 ticket for a 10hr + flight not bad at that price. Room for improvement on the meal/snack/drinks situation but honestly the hard product was great. Now let's get that "C" word dropped from all Airlines and move on travel is back 👍
Yes for sure the score would have been very different if this was a normal $2500 fare- but I’d take that whole package any day of the week for the price.
Great video! And thanks for the seat recommendation - I am taking this flight in mid-August and had originally booked a seat in row 3 but changed it to 1A after watching this video...One question: is lounge access at GRU included in a business class ticket on LA8084 or do I need to arrange for this separately before my flight? Thanks!
Looks good, great report style. Very welcome information, I'm flying them out 09th and back 28th. Have latam+ seats now, am considering bidding for an upgrade one or both sectors. What you reckon?
It wholly depends on what is the route and what is the aircraft. If a narrow body domestic flight- no not worth the upgrade. If on a wide body, I’d pay up to $20/hr for a domestic run, up to $30/hr for regional. That is assuming the upgrade is to Business Class. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I would expect a Business class customer to be allowed a drink whenever they want one. BA will often bung Economy class me an extra drink without my even having to ask for one and are invariably responsive to a polite request if I visit the galley. Came here today to help me decide between flying LATAM (one-stop) of BA (non-stop) to Rio from London. On the basis of this review, I think that BA will get the gig.
Keep in mind the drink refusal was the result of a Covid rule at the time- though of course it could have even done in a much more professional way. If they’re the same price or similar I’d go for BA if it’s Club Suites. If BA is significantly more or old Club World I’d go with Latam (but only if it’s on a 77W).
In a way, I suppose ☺️ The channel will be passing through London & Barcelona before taking a big detour to Bali… followed up by the rest of my Europe trip. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Great video!! What if instead of ordering a second alcoholic drink you'd asked for water? I'm sure the crew would not refuse, so mask and covid are actually a lame excuse to not serve more drinks. The seat seems really great as you pointed out. Hope you had a great stay in my country!!!
Yes, I think an over-zealous policy combined with a tired crew (took off around 00:00) made for a bit of prohibition. I did have multiple bottles of water throughout the trip though, so that was a-okay ☺️ Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Good video, solid hard product. Personally I would’ve scored the service even lower for refusal of a second drink. Crazy stuff, particularly in Business Class. I wish SQ flew every sector around the world so I could fly with them exclusively haha.
Well that’s what SQ is planning- to take over the world, I mean- with their new “multi-hub” vision. Wouldn’t mind to see them open more 5th freedom routes like MXP-BCN that I have coming up next month. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Kevin it's easily a $3500 to $4500 usd fare. Where do you find these cheap fares. Wow size 12 feet and a thumb ring 💍 😍. When will you start doing more obscure airlines like Yemeni, Algerian, air Tunis, afrique and Libyan just to name a few 😉
Gotta keep those eyes open! Stumbled upon the fare in a FB group some months ago. Routing was very restrictive but I was flexible and kind of built the trip around it! The likes of Algerian/Air Tunis may be in the cards for next year- but it's probably gonna be a while before I'm on a Yemeni flight 😊 Thanks for watching 🙏
Enjoyed your trip report video. One negative is the score given for in flight service and food & bev do not match the video comments - which makes the score not useful (eg 6/10 indicates an ok or satisfactory experience).
As stated on my scoring sheet, my scores are ALWAYS relative to the price paid, which I always share. I’ve just looked back at my scores for this flight and stand by them. The food did taste great, but there was no snack menu, overall 8.5/10. The service was a little robotic and brusque, but not rude, overall 6/10. If I received the same food and service on a flight that I paid $4k for the scores would of course be different and relative to that fare.
I would have been like your neighbour if they refused a second drink and also gave that tiny breakfast. Compare that to the middle eastern airlines ! Nice seat though as you say.
You graded 6/10 for inflight service. This is a shame for an airline which boast about being the best of Latin America. Service should be impeccable specially on a business class. If VARIG still existed you would certainly grade 10/10.
Enjoyable as ever but I'm not sure I would award 91 /100 on account of the meal offerings and, even more so, the service. I would be annoyed to be refused a second drink in economy, never mind business!
As outdated as the “no more drinks, masks on” policy was even a couple months ago- I can’t say for sure that it wasn’t more than just an airline policy (govt regulation, for example), so for that one… where to place the blame is a bit up in the air. As for the food and the score, the score is relative to the fare paid… and for under $800, the food (and just about everything else) was pretty great! If it was a $3000 leg, the score would be much different ☺️ Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
I would like to think that I would have flipped out like a true Karen if I heard no after a vodka soda request lol or in my case gin tonic… especially in business class and come on it’s been almost 3 years of Covid I hate when people use that excuse. I’ve always loved latam Though they need to step up their cuisine options! I wish they kept their A350! So sad!
I have a ‘not getting arrested upon landing’ personal policy and so I often find myself just going with the flow on flights because you never know who’s having a bad enough day to cause a scene in the air lol. Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
Has nothing to do with being rich or poor. Everything is relative. Whether you have a fast food meal and a plastic chair or a caviar service in a leather recliner, there’s no reason improvement cannot be found in both.
Latam’s flight crew is known for being rude. The excuse they gave you is ridiculous. Unfortunately as a Brazilian, i’ve been flying with them for at least 20 years, (it is the carrier I can redeem my credit card miles) so I can say that often the service lacks at latam. The only time I remember having a happy crew onboard with them was 27 December 2018, it was my birthday, and they treated me very nicely.
Yes it’s unfortunately the case. For me though, my priority when flying is comfort so rude crew or not, I’ll still have a nice flight if in a comfortable seat 😊 Thanks for watching 🙏🏻
