    When she’s up and running, I’d love to see her double head with the Bluebells 80151… not only having two standard 4 tank s together but having sequential numbers too would be rather special

    It’s great to see 80150 getting fixed up, I saw something similar with classmate No 80097 which was restored at the East Lancashire Railway

    I remember these engines well. 80126, 80028, 80092/93 allocated to Stirling Shed (63B) took us to school and back in Callander.

    Interestingly the 264 tank engine (Stanier) I think was the locomotive featured in the film’Brief Encounter’ for it’s mundanity, as was Carnforth station, re enforcing the drabness of the lives of the two characters, Celia Johnson and Trevor Howard

    wonderful looking locomotives , always loved this large tank, it was only a while ago that hattons had done a article on ready to run models that the fairburn was mentioned, so I think some were allocated to the southern. Does anyone have any information about this would love to see these two together

    No tbe fairburn tanks were designed for the LMS not the SR. The SR had lots of ore-grouping small locomotives which the Std 4 tanks were intended to replace. 7 Fairburn 4MT tanks were transferred to the North East without modification between 1952 and 1954. Included in the transfer was Brighton-built 42083 which by the summer of 1952 was based at Darlington.

      82045. It isn’t a rebuild more of a new built as the original Standard 3 tanks were all scrapped..

    Is the the fastest/strongest tank engine?

    • @florjanbrudar692
      @florjanbrudar692 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Tank engines like this were capable of reaching 113 km/h, but no. Tank engines weren't built for speed.
