There is a method of de-yellowing plastics using hydrogen peroxide and UV light. It would be really interesting to see you throw together one of those setups to try it out!

Use white vinegar on the battery contacts, it will remove all the corrosion but don't leave it for more than 5 minutes a time, it might remove the plating too.

Results are clean but only slightly less yellow, the case needs a little retrobrite love.

For me I use vinegar to neutralize the alkaline battery leakage.
I then will use 99% isopropal alcohol on it.

Now that you've used Dawn a few times, have you noticed a difference or developed a preference when using the dish detergent vs the laundry detergent? I know you initially were just using what was available.

I can’t say I have noticed…but I would need to do a side by side comparison on pieces from the same system since the grossness level varies significantly. I might have to try that experiment out in a future video 😊
