We've been buying things for the last 3 years for our bathroom. Everything on clearance and last year's models and we spent maybe 500$ and we are going to do it within the next month. If you plan ahead you can definitely do remodels on the cheap!

I think you did a great job! I renovated my half-bath in a very similar way to how you did your bath vanity: made a black painted countertop out of plywood (waterproofed with a sealer), put a white vessel sink on top that looks pretty identical to yours, with a very similar faucet. Initially I also put vinyl peel & stick tiles (not grouted) over some ceramic tile that I hated, but I had to rip this up & replace this eventually with a vinyl sheet floor due to the underlying grout lines from the ceramic tile floor ‘bleeding’ through to the vinyl. If you ever lay down a vinyl floor again over grouted ceramic tile, you may want to consider leveling out the ceramic tile floor to fill in all the grout lines otherwise, over time, you will see a shadowing or a dip happening in your vinyl floor where all the grout lines are underneath. BTW, you have a gorgeous baby!

It’s so nice to see someone who has her head screwed on right. I agree that it takes two incomes in a family to make it through these hard times, but I believe you are doing more than 50% of keeping a roof over your family. With the low unemployment rate seem that your mate could find something to pay the bills even if it is not what he wants. I am old and retired but when I got married, I firmly believed it was my responsibility to take care of my wife and then my family.

Hii! I just subscribed right now! I found this video while searching for renovations all while saving money! I have a 4 month old and my boyfriend is the one working but once I start working in a couple of weeks I’ll save more money and eventually move into our future house in a couple of years and renovate it. That’s why I love your channel. Only $600 for this amazing remodel! I don’t want an expensive house, i just want a cheap house because I love remodeling so much that I’m willing to work and take care of our baby and renovate with the help of my boyfriend too! I This motivates me to do my own remodeling in the future! I love the touches of color white and black and green in the bathroom! Such an inspiration!

Hi, my daughter had her bathroom renovated by profesionals recently and used a lot of money getting it from 1950 to 2023 standards. I am impressed your able to do it all on your own. You got a clean and inviting bathroom with perfect colors almost for free Have you considered buying a home where you could rent out a plot or a tiny home or a garage apartment etc..? Best of luck getting the cost of housing down to suit and give you peace and stability or whatever you seek. Hugs from Norway 😊

Just to inform those that like to discredit stick and peel, I have used muscle bound which is double sided adhesive for non heavy 4mm tiles behind a bathroom vanity... 4 years in my master bathroom and no type of structural failure... but... with that said, I would not use it on floor where moisture can build up. Even tho you're placing that on top of ceramic tile, that's gonna fail sooner or later. That's heavy foot staffing too so, I wouldn't risk it lol

These cheap renovations always look cheap and, iMHO, do not add value to the house for anyone with any discrimination at all. Because it will need to be done the right way. And who wants to pay for a reno done the wrong way? For a few hundred dollars more (say, $1K total) you could have replaced both the floor tile and the bath surround tile to match (with REAL tile). Also, the toilet should have been reset over the tile flooring (after removing and replacing the original tile). It would have made the bathroom look so much bigger and so much more expensive to do it right. I have a feeling this house will be slow to sell.

I know you want to sell your home; However, there is a flaw in how you laid your tiles. You lined them all straight without properly aligning every other tile.
