Im in SC and plant Makis all the time thats amazing to see them so big... they are sold by us landscape designers as small controlable shrubs lol... 2 to 3ft wide and easily kept as low as 6ft. Im pretty sure the Maki is a macrophyllus dwarf variety though. I think it's southern living that released a verigated variety that I've been using quite a bit its a white edge and I very nice lime green.... even these mature specimens are still pretty narrow
Part of the reason for pavers being installed like that rather than a solid path is to reduce the amount of impermeable surfaces for storm runoff. But yeah, it's also what's trendy now too.
@arboristBlairGlenn Most trends start as a solution to a specific problem and people copy it because it "looks cool" or they are ignorant of the reasons behind it and assume its the correct method. Similar example: crape murder or really any tree topping
I really appreciate your consistently conservative approach to pruning; not everyone has your touch. Well done.
Thank you
😎👍
Great info
I try

Seeing the whole yard is absorbing water the “trendy” versus usability is lost on me . Form over function?

That fruit tree ladder looks a little sketchy to be on?
@@phillyfathead if you fall off of it yes but it is quite stable. Sometimes, when tied in, I will stand on the very top.
All ladders are sketchy lol but it works!
How much do you charge for a job like this?
@@howtowithhank4791 we work on time. My rate is 95 per man, two man crew is 1520 for a one day minimum
@arboristBlairGlenn nice! Thanks!
That's a tedious job. those are spendy poles to be wrenching on with a pole pruner, but I suppose at the ripe age of ** you deserve lightweight tools.
Ouch! You calling me old?
@arboristBlairGlenn whaaaat? Never!!
That’s the problem here. People wait too long to control the size. Have to leave some foliage. 🫤
