great video, people take a second when you have no line in the water and toss the bait fish on the deck overboard so no one slips and gets hurt badly as I have seen in the past please.
Lol, 7:50 if you didn't film it, he lost his glory.. looks like a fun trip. I want to do that. Is it common for the deck guys to grab and handle the Rods? Or just this trip?
Bret Archibald 8-10 day trips in the fall are the best. If you’re wrapped on another line the deckhands grab your rod take care of business so no one gets sawed off and lose their fish. They are pretty good at it, it’s rare someone loses a fish if you are wrapped on another line.
@@tunakiller1 do any of your rods have foam grips? I've two rods with foam that I intend to use on a charter out that way with in the next year. I'm wondering if I should shrink wrap them. I've only been out on a charter once a couple of years ago. So there's a lot I don't know yet. Utah fisherman.
Bret Archibald my rods are Seeker Black Steel, they come with foam, I used them for years that way until recently I had them custom wrapped and switched to the X Wrap. It’s personal preference, the X Wrap is probably a little more durable but either one is fine. My rail rod has foam and I installed cold shrink over the foam then finished with heat shrink x wrap but that rod is used to pull on 200# tuna using the rail to lift up.
