Thank you Tom for your superb video that articulates so well the significance of the Young house and how IGNORANT the people who should know better are..The demolition beggars belief..it's an act of cultural vandalism..That house could have been a great museum on par with the houses you mentioned in Liverpool re: Beatles..And the mayor Mr Faker (what an apt name)..saying he didnt have a clue about the house until people pointed it out out tells you everything....stuff clueless councillors and greedy developers and their horrible chicken coop monstrosities...honestly what is going on in Australia... a dirty dead done cheap!

How can the developer say that they didn't know it was an historic site. This is just the cultural genocide that is happening in sydney.

If there were Indigenous connections there would be outrage in Parliament

Of course the previous owner is not going to explain the background story to the developer they sold to, they just want their big pay day. A heritage listing on a property just kills off the potential high price. This demolition is how it rolls now, any heritage or historical value of a property means zero in Australia. Look at Skippy Park ranger Headquarters at Terry Hills as a PRIMER example. Start digging into what's going on there, a really interesting story of ownership and total neglect. But be careful it's a VERY sensitive subject now.

I’m surprised the Acca Dacca house survived that long considering the rampant development in Burwood.
