Before starting SAO:A I had pretty much given up on the series. When getting back into it, I thought Eugeo was just a blonde Kirito. He was actually so much more. Now he stands as one of my favorite characters in the series.
But better and significantly closer. Literally, Eugeo was Kirito's only close friend, equal and companion for two years. And they fought in the face of death multiple times.

Sad they removed the flute at the end, but it makes sense. This song represents Alice, Kirito and Eugeo as the young trio they were, but Eugeo is gone and so Alice Schuberg is (the part of the flute represented the young Alice).

yeah, but they got it wrong as the skill she uses there is the same which is normally used by enhance armament. My guess is that the true release recollection of her sword is the tree-form it has in the central cathedral in first alicization anime in which it absorbs holy energy to get stronger :)

The beginning sections also carry some Eugeo in it too, as this song was played when Eugeo motivated Kirito to keep standing against Quinella. So you could say this is all three of their themes. Eugeo, Kirito, and Alice.
