on my 17 440i GC, in sport my car closes the valve whenever i’m slowing down as well. i only noticed when i pulled into my driveway and tried to give it a light tap, i heard the flap open. granted I have a valvetronic exhaust (which one side is muffled and one side is straight pipe) so i could hear a significant difference in sound since the straight pipe side has the growl we all know. i’m now MHD stage 1 and checked the box where it’s always open in sport mode but found it interesting as well
What a marvelous symphony 🥰 What a pity for your ECU. I have a 08-2018 M240i and it was possible to tune burbles and cold start with MHD. Maybe a lock for US market?
@@DarthLilith Yea. BMWs made 2018 and after have a locked ECU, which means tuning over OBD (such as flash tuning) is impossible until someone cracks the ECU. You can still tune it using piggybacks (such as a JB4) but I don't want to do that. So I'm kinda SOL
@@kristiansigismondiFor sure, I was semi aware of the 2018+ having the ECU being locked but not 2016-17. After some research between my comment and now, it looks like the new DME dealership update on 16-17 locks the ECU also. I just put money down on a 16 340i and was trying to figure out my plan for modifications. lol
@@kristiansigismondi You can tune your car. At the most, you’d need to get a bench unlock if your ECU was locked by a software update. 2021+ are the ECUs your referring to but even those have been cracked. There are a lot of G80 M3s already tuned.
I’ve gone off crackles and coded them out on my m240 but your setup sounds wicked man.. if this is stock downpipe I’m shocked… I’m catless and muffler delete but if a res delete midpipe makes that much difference I’m gonna have to go that route😳

@@andrxito That’s such a good question. I don’t regret doing the GTS hood at all. The sounds it makes when driving are worth the price tag. HOWEVER, you have to go into knowing it’s not going to fit perfect. It going to have some wonky gaps or fitment somewhere. If you’re ok with that beforehand, then absolutely get the GTS hood. Btw, my next video is going to be about this topic, so stay tuned. Just been busy with college and work recently.

Yea I do. I never coded out actuator because I really don’t need to

well it basicly is a Diesel block (B57) and the architectur of the head is also very similar to it's Diesel brother

Not just for the US. It was a software update in 2020. You probably just didn’t get the update.

Yea. The GoPro on the rear bumper is where all the audio came from. But it’s just the normal GoPro mic that’s built in.

This is what the car sounds like with only an AWE Catback exhaust. The tune and pops are all on the stock tune.

Yea, I’m kinda over the burbles at this point. Also, the downpipe is stock. All I have is an AWE catback exhaust

Maybe upgrade cold air intake with a cts for an induction spool noise to go along with that exhaust note.
I’m actually doing the dinan carbon intake soon. Just waiting for this school semester to be over.
