What I love about this arc is how much it's about information. Who knows what, who doesn't know what, and who thinks they know something that turns out to be false. It's beautiful.

I said it in another comment section on another video but I think it might be possible that Togashi inspired Netero's training from a real life person called Masutatsu Oyama who was the founder of Kyokushin Karate, Oyama exiled himself to the mountains after the World War II with a student (who after some time abandoned Oyama due to the rigorousness of being isolated and the hard training). He remained on the mountain for fourteen months, and returned to Tokyo as a much stronger and fiercer karateka.
Pitou is still technically stronger than Netero. Netero’s speed with his prayer motion and subsequent punch exceeds any other character’s perception. Basically Netero’s punches are really really fast. An attack that could not be dodged. Note that it did zero damage to Pitou. It was basically an emitter blast of Nen similar to what Zeno used against chrollo.

Netero isn't necessarily that much "stronger" than the King's Guards. He's just substantially faster. Like when Cheetu fought Morel and Knuckle. He could get hits in without much they could do about it. But they didn't really do any damage. Netero didn't do much damage to Pitou with his attack, but that wasn't his goal. He just wanted to knock her away. Which he was free to do since she was airborne. Her strength is irrelevant, and it's just a question of his strength/speed in how far he could knock her away. As an aside, when it comes to full circle moments. I don't know if you caught it from a few episodes ago when Gon was fighting the Bat and Owl. Gon, the enhancer, channeled his Nen into a shout to attack his enemy's ears. This was a callback to Uvo, the master enhancer doing the same when we first met him. Just a near callback I didn't notice until recently.
SPOILER ::: just think about it pouf isnt strong enough to kill the smoke guy even in a one on one since he doesnt rlly have any combat ability . youpi can maybe tank a few hits for the three of them and survive but would ultimetely be squashed like a fly . pitou is the only one that might be able to do real damage since she is pretty strong compared to the king ( gon was equal to the king and her after death enhanced nen did damage to gon that was equal to the king in terms of pure strength and nen ) but would still be lacking in every other aspect and cant touch him. the king would speedblitz the 3 of them in a millisecond without any chance of survival if he ever really wanted yet netero was able to go up against him and give a fair fight

Im a huge fan of your reactions, so hopefully this doesnt come out as a "hate comment" but if you really find that the slow pacing is impacting a lot your enjoyment of the chimera ant arc (it is indeed very slow and meticolous about every minor event, but its nevertheless considered one of the greatest arcs of all time) maybe starting one piece wasn't the right decision and you should've went for something else, there are still plenty of good shows with faster pace that also make great reaction material
Hey! We definitely dont consider this a hate comment at all. Its a very valid point. We are very much enjoying the arc. I think the frustration comes from the fact that we enjoy so much of the arc and then it kind of halts. Its not so much the slow build up that is frustration. Its the random breaks in momentum. There’ll be a great scene/episode and then that momentum is completely lost when its followed by something extremely dull in comparison. This leads to us losing that immersion and emotional investment because the intensity is just completely lost. Even if those slower scenes are extremely important, far too long is spent on them and the timing of them can be very jarring at times. But we are definitely not hating on the arc. We have very much enjoyed the high stakes and peaks of the arc so far!
There's 2 animes I recommend that I'm sure you guys would enjoy, one is blood+(it's about vampires and it's a bit old but it's a classic and I'm sure you guys would enjoy it, it tugs at the heart strings) and ishura, this is a new anike that came out sometime thisbyear and its pretty good in my opinion, you guys would likely enjoybghe animation style)

Day 92 of telling Carlie and Ange that Hisoka isn't actually a pedo***** until they reply. He’s sexually attracted to power. And he doesn’t care if it’s coming from machi or gon. I don’t think Hisoka has a regular sex drive. I believe his whole existence is based on the drive to prove himself against powerful opponents - so his sex drive also manifests itself as attraction for power and potential. Just treat him like a normal character and forget it 😅😅😅

"Show don't tell" is a famous writing rule for a reason, most of the times narrators comes of as unnecessary info dumps. I don't particularly like it either but in HxH there is so much stuff happening in like 5 minutes that without the narrator it would be impossible to follow so I understand the choice even if I'm not fond of it.
