The Dark Knight Returns is one of the best comic book story's ever written and ranks on my top 10 but my favorite Frank Miller story has got to be Daredevil: Born Again, nothing can top that for me, and I'm a DC guy.
Wait a second, this video is titled "The Influences of Frank Miller," and yet theres not one mention of Kazuo Koike and Goseki Kojima's seminal manga series "Lone Wolf and Cub." Also no mention of Jean Giraud! Are you kidding me?
Awesome video, thanks for profiling my favorite living writer. My favorite Frank Miller comic is either Sin City: The Hard Goodbye or Batman: The Dark Knight Returns. My favorite direct (as in directly adapted from one of his works) is definitely Sin City. And I would like to see you make a video about Alan Moore (maybe say what the heck he was thinking about with Swamp Thing).
I'd like to see featured my favourite Comicbook artists like Alex Nino who revolutionized and turned the old-age-classic-formal comics panel breakdowns into his own phantasmagoric version that later influenced his peers and future generations of Comics creators including Frank Miller, et al. Also the Peter Paul Rubens influenced Art of Rudy Nebres From his early formative works to his groundbreaking super-dynamic art for Warren Comics such as 'The Deadly Hands of Kung Fu', Vampirella, etc. Very much worth mentioning are the classical works of Nestor Redondo and Alfredo Alcala to be featured in your upcoming Retrospective HD series. Thank you! It's fun time..
The Spirit was underrated....but you can see where it had potential. Miller should have been given reigns to a live-action The Dark Knight Returns. Although at one point he said Sly Stallone should have played old Bruce Wayne.
Frank Miller Comics: The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: Year One, and Frank Miller's Ronin Frank Miller Movies: Sin City, 300, The Dark Knight Returns Part 1 and Part 2
+Kako Mohammed But the dark knight is more famous because it was such a different story then people were used to, meanwhile batman year one (it was new and amazing) was a story that didn't really change that much . but thats just my opinion :)
Frank Miller at his best was pretty amazing. At his worst, however, is completely detestable. Between The Dark Knight Strikes Again, All-Star Batman and Robin, and Holy Terror, I really don't want to see any more of his works get adapted.
***** Its not racist at all. Its just not terribly pro Muslim extremists. Which I think is perfectly fine. I am not pro terrorists either. Or should we pretend they don't exist?
and that's fine. your opinion is not on trial, just the quality of the books. those comics show how his style changed for the worse, and those problems show up 10-fold in holy terror, which is completely reprehensible
+BATMANIA RETURNS THE HUGE BAT FAN yeah that's right.frank miller made batman cool don't get me wrong he was cool when he was solving mysteries but frank miller made him cool
man i hate when pepole say alan moore is the best they are pepole who have never read comics like maus or the incal those comic books are the real deal
Anything except Alan Moore. Every time that guy opens his mouth I hate him …well, more. The world would be well rid of him. Gaiman is over rated, but very talented.
Love to see Frank Miller work on a Batman film and have it filmed like Sin City was.

I love Frank Miller's Ronin. I wish they would make a film from that.

I don't know why people crap on The Spirit. It was a bit campy in spots, but it's still a cool movie.

Everything he's written since Sin City has been Sin City. God, his monologues in "The Spirit" were painful.

Lifetimes09 Ever read Give me liberty?
+Lifetimes09 The video was about the influences of Millers work more so than the actual quality.
Lifetimes09 everyone mentions his supposed sexism but I really don't see it
He likes to show boobs and bikinis and not just the hypermasculine asexual female characters favored today. Oh the horror.
