Ts eliot's view was quite different from William wordsworth. Where William wordsworth tells that poetry is a spontanious overflow of emotion n it's a way of outing ur own feelings, there ts eliot said that its not personal feeling or emotion. If it's then it will not be successful. He further added that tradition has a great roll in aquiring talent n in individual writing.
William Wordsworth said this in his essay Preface to Lyrical Ballad. "Poetry is the spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings: it takes its origin from emotion recollected in tranquility"
Wordsworth was in different time period where Romanticism was prominent whereas when Eliot published his essay Romanticism was dying or dead due to modern times and industrial growth
According to me, i agree with Wordsworth. But at the both time i understand what T. s Eliot means. When poetry is about all emotions that to personal emotions people can connect more, but when a poetry needs to be more fun it's artificial. But i always go with the personal emotion i want people to connect with me, rather than be disconnected.
