I’ve been wondering how to do this with my window outlines. Thanks so much for sharing these simple steps!

Thank you a ton for the lesson on reversing the nodes. I gave up last year and let my window submodels work in opposite directions. I was going to create my windows as single lines instead of the window models this year to fix it. This video taught me a better way!

So when I create my vertical submodels and add them to a group. I can't seem to get any effects to work on the group. If i do the same with the horizontals, it works perfect. Specifically if i use the single strand effect on the horizontals it bounces from one side to the other ( once I set the render style to per model default ) but If i try to duplicate this on the verticals, no matter what render style i pick I can't get the single strand effect to bounce from top to bottom on all the verticals. Any ideas?

It has to do with the way xLights draws the buffer for the sub model... a left-to-right line. Changing to per-preview render style and rotating the effect by 90º will solve your issue.
