This purple dream is Eurovision winning material - not only because a ballad will absolutely stand out at Eurovision this year, but also because it represents the spirit of its country in a way that makes me shiver in front of this mesmerizing beauty!💜🪻🇷🇸 I do understand the profound meaning because I am half Croatian, but even if we don't look at borders and nations, "Ramonda" is a haunting mélange of velvety melancholia, spectral grace and deepest emotions! And there couldn't be a more suitable voice to share this multi-layered message with the entire world: Teya Dora is not only a heartwarming human being and exceptionally gifted artist, but has the ability to seduce the masses with a voice out of this world. Vocals and songs don't always need to be loud and sharp to cast a spell over the universe, and in this case a dark lullaby is predestined to make this world a better place. Ramonda only needs one drop of water to rise from the dead - and if we look at the current state of our world, a sweet masterpiece like this has never been more necessary than now. Like the flower itself, "Ramonda" grows and grows and grows with every single listen, its putting me in a trance at night and day, and I'm already sure that Teya's magic will heal all the suffering in the world in May. This entry fulfills me on the deepest possible level and it speaks to my soul as if it was born within me!💜🪻✨️🌙
It is not the landscape of Serbia, but computer-generated rocks and darkness as an association of hopelessness and difficult conditions, despite which Ramonda still lives. 🪻 Well done for knowing the history of Serbia and deeply understanding the meaning of this beautiful song!
Video is completely CGI. Teya Dora said that in the interview. She was only standing on the blue screen. Thank you for a nice reaction, greetings from Serbia 🇷🇸 ❤️
This is the best Serbian entry since Molitva for me. A lot of people says it's "too boring & slow for Eurovision", but in my opinion we need atleast 1 of song in this style every year.
"The Light Shines in the Darkness, and the Darkness can never extinguish it." is the fifth verse in the first chapter of the Gospel of John in the New Testament of the Bible. To me, the choice of that verse has two meanings. It directly related to the message of the song about perseverance, and the other is a deep cut about the Serbian soldiers of WW1. The islands in the opening of the MV represent Corfu, where the remaining Serbian army and government went in exile after the fall of the Balkan front in the early days of WW1. Before landing on Corfu, they had to go through the Albanian mountains during winter (Albanian Golgotha), which resulted in the death of thousands of soldiers before they even saw the shores due to starvation, diseases, and the cold. Many would also later die at Corfu due to this trek and their bodies would be layered to rest in the surrounding sea. The poem of Milutin Bojic called Plava Grobnica (The Blue Tomb), explains this event in perfect detail. The poem has extra gravitas when you listen to the reciting from Dragan Nikolic, famous Serbian and Yugoslav actor. Teya I believe indirectly references this poem through the Bible verse as these places are sacred grounds, places of spiritual importance, as most memorial cemeteries are. This is where soldiers, heroes, the light of an entire nation are laid to rest, in the deep dark ocean depths. The choice of the island as the place where Lila Ramonda rises is also important, as its on Corfu where the Kingdom of Serbia persevered, and its from there that they would plan the eventual liberation of their homeland through the Salonika front. Such a small detail adding that verse in the beginning. So much symbolism and details can be extracted by that choice, when and where it is used.
Just imagine how the performance will look like on the much larger Swedish stage. This wasnt even performed in Stark Arena, mostly the small RTS studio, hence why there was no live audience.
By repeating of 'Ramonda' she calls out for Ramonda to appear.. You can see in the video how she is looking for a 'guiding star' (called Danizza) to show her the way out to salvation. The message can apply to all of us, to rise from every suffering and difficult life period and turn our weakness into strength, just as the Serbian people experienced recovery after great human losses during the WW1.

For those who (perhaps) don't know, the ramonda is our endemic flower species (Ramonda Serbica) and a symbol of the suffering of the Serbs in World War I against Austria-Hungary, i.e. Armistice Day (November 11, 1918) and the final victory. Ramonda is a symbol of Serbia, victory, rebirth and eternity. It is also called the phoenix flower, because it is specific in that it can dry up, and only one drop of water is enough to revive it completely. It was discovered by Josif Pancic in 1874, on Mount Rtanj, near Sokobanja. The song of Teye Dora has strong symbolism, good music with traditional (Byzantine and Serbian) elements, arrangement and text, and in the text I especially like the (Serbian) motifs of the star Danica and Ramonda, as well as the beginning, whose rhythmicity and parallelism are very they remind us of our folk (oral) literature. Not to mention her voice. PS. Armistice Day is a non-working day in Serbia, and it is also celebrated in Great Britain, Belgium, New Zealand and France, while it is "Remembrance Day" in the countries of the British Commonwealth, and "Veterans Day" in the USA.
please respond to the video "Dzanum" teya dora....the video was created when there was a Amok in an elementary school in Serbia and 2 days later another massacre in a small town in Serbia...the song talks about all the terrible massacres and wars which have been happening since ancient times until now and in the future. .. about constant evil in the whole world ... be sure to find the translation of the song in English
So this is what is currently happening in Serbia: the hate Teya Dora is currently getting in Serbia is wild (people are mad that she didn't won the televote therefore she's not the people's choice, folks wanted Breskvica instead because they claim her song was more patriotic and ethnic than Ramonda, which to me is complete BS. Juries ranked Ramonda 1st and Gnezdo Orlovo 6th btw. This is a perfect example that juries (sometimes) are important. In conclusion: easy left side of the scoreboard in the final for Serbia.
I know, these last day, I am doing my best to stand up for Teya, commenting as much as I can, Teya got my vote, would never vote for Breskvica, these fans of Breskvic are really crazy🤦♀️
And it's not like Teya got 1 or 2 points from the public, she got 10. If Zorja and Konstrakta wouldn't have been there, she would have gotten her votes as well and would have had 12 points. These people are the same who thought that Sanja was participating with Cha Cha Cha 😭. They don't even watch eurovision, they don't know what it's about. Every year it's the same circus.
Breskvica was heavily promoted by the ruling party and their army of bot people, its their kind of brand of nationalism being shoved in a song contest. There is a lot of evidence of voter fraud being done, where people would pay others 20 bucks to vote for Breskvica, the same kinda tactic SNS used in the recent elections that the European parliament is currently investigating and why Belgrade elections will be held again. Breskvica was also promoted on state supported media, which are also the ones currently bashing Teya Doras win saying she is some sort of satanist, ustasha, gay lobby or whatever insult far right nutcases use to discredit someone that they want to silence, cause they think they have the only right to shape what Serbia needs to be like. Those type of people know patriotism only as a word, but do not know what it is, cause if they did they would know what Ramonda means to the Serb people. There is also Breskvica fans themselves, mostly juveniles that never even watched Eurovision, ignorant kids who barely know anything but are hyped up on SNS fake nationalism, as well as simping for their favorite singer, no matter the quality of her song and performance. You can easily tell they are kids due to the type of comments they post. They even constantly spammed the PZE livestream chat, even second semis where Breskvica wasnt performing asking "when is Breskvica up", completely ignorant to the entire contest, just there to be mindless drones for her. For these reasons and many more I am glad that Teya won, literal real life perseverance over hardship and against the darkness of ignorance that has plague Serbia politically and ideologically for over a decade.
I mean, to be fair, I don’t remember when Serbian female singers were that “cute” stereotypically If you look at Konstrakta, she’s sitting there washing her hands and doesn’t give a f*ck😂 I would say the last time there was something like that is when Tajci performed and I think that was still Yugoslavia back then
The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never exstinguish it - Gospel of John 1:5 :) The sea you see on the video and her wet hair represents Serbian soldiers who died of starvation after retreating through Albania in WW1 and were buried by being thrown into the sea near the Greek island of Corfu. To this day we call that place "The Blue Tomb". Dead soldiers were buried that way because there was not enough space on the island to dig all the graves. You can find all the info on that on the internet. Ramonda represents the recovery of the survivors as vell as the victory and liberation afterwards.
That is such a strong symbolism and meaning.. I did not know about this before this song appeared, and as a history nerd I really appreciate you enlightening me. Thank you for sharing a profound and tragic/hopeful part of your national story and narrative. It means a lot.

I never heard abaut Teya befor Eurovision, but last 5 days its repeating in my mind again and again...i searched abaut her and i found she became a scholar at the Berklee College of Music in Boston , where she studied singing. In college, she was in a generation with Charlie Puth . She has sung backing vocals for American artists. She know how to go deep inside you and to make some deep flash in emotions. it's a story for a long way. it's abaut hope for everyone of us.I beleave she will make much better performance and it will blow our souls. [Pre-Chorus]

Nobody wants my soul, nobody wants my pain

[Chorus]
Till the end of time, till the world ends
My fate is cursed
This soul has no home, this soul has no tone
Candles of a black dawn are burning, my nightmares
[Post-Chorus]
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares, my nightmares
My nightmares, my nightmares

Till the end of time, till the world ends

Thank you so much for enlightening me
please respond to the video "Dzanum" teya dora....the video was created when there was a Amok in an elementary school in Serbia and 2 days later another massacre in a small town in Serbia...the song talks about all the terrible massacres and wars which have been happening since ancient times until now and in the future. .. about constant evil in the whole world ... be sure to find the translation of the song in English
We have!😃
So this is what is currently happening in Serbia: the hate Teya Dora is currently getting in Serbia is wild (people are mad that she didn't won the televote therefore she's not the people's choice, folks wanted Breskvica instead because they claim her song was more patriotic and ethnic than Ramonda, which to me is complete BS.
I mean, to be fair, I don’t remember when Serbian female singers were that “cute” stereotypically
If you look at Konstrakta, she’s sitting there washing her hands and doesn’t give a f*ck😂
I would say the last time there was something like that is when Tajci performed and I think that was still Yugoslavia back then
Pls reacton on video "Dzanum " 🙏⚘️😪😪😪😪😪
We have!
The Light shines in the darkness and the darkness can never exstinguish it - Gospel of John 1:5 :)
The sea you see on the video and her wet hair represents Serbian soldiers who died of starvation after retreating through Albania in WW1 and were buried by being thrown into the sea near the Greek island of Corfu.
@@esc.norway Yes, the song has a deep meaning to it and and honestly we did not expect anything like that 😁 I am glad you like the song ❤️

5:31 It's not landscape in Serbia. It's a 3D model. But, we have all sorts of landscapes, even like this one. Serbian lands are diverse.
The island in the video symbolizes Greece, Corfu to be exact.
Thank you for enlightening me!
Otherwise, all shots were shot in the studio.
Great song, but for me Zorja is number 1. I hope that Teya Dora will have a good ranking.
It's better Zorja.
I dont know. Its nice, Its depressing. Pushing this deeper message too hard and I dont feel it. I guess its fine but I rooted for Zorja and Hristina.
Thank you for sharing your opinion, appreciate it!
I gotta be honest I dont like this song. Its just a bit boring to me. No disrespect to Serbia or Teya Dora this is just not for me. I dont want to be too negative so I have to say that I like your norwegian accent. Its very nice and your voice is very soothing ❤
Haha, no worries Brynjar! All opinions are welcome here!
@@esc.norway I feel like the eurovision fandom is pretty toxic. If you dont like a popular song you get so much hate. This channel feels like a safe place.
Bored!
And thats okay..This year you have aaa lot of generic upbeat songs so you can listen. But this mesmerizing masterpiece will be recognized :)
Thank you for sharing your opinion, appreciate it!

Zorja have a very good voice i love it, but i think we need these emotions what Teya make. I am Serbian and i didn't know what's mean lila ramonda so i had to search as well... It's reborning. Fenix flower 💜🌟🪻
