And you wasn’t the only one pro around the country were also watching when the Dick Clark introduced the Temptations .. We were gathered around the living room with your brothers and sisters.. I was the youngest one taking it all in beaming with pride.. As our people appeared on the television we were all proud.. We thought when you on the screen you were bigger than life.. Just wish I could go back for minute to glimpse of what was the beginning of 60 years of music.. We lived through some turbulent times and the music brought us through.. Of course can’t forget Ed Sullivan show and all the acts that appeared on there like the Supremes, the Four Tops, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, and many more.. Yes we lived the times in hopes of a better tomorrow as these groups helped us cope with problems of life.. Thank God for music..LB May 2022

It was just great to see Eddie David and Dennis perform and have so much fun entertaining together WoW those were the great days of stars mingling and having a good time doing their craft its unfortunate but things have changed may those 3 giants rest in peace knowing they made a difference in many people lives. Watching the three of them during "Get Ready", I noticed one thing very quickly; David has every move memorized from a song they performed live at least 30 years earlier. Professional!
So brilliant of them to get together as the leads of The Temptations and do shows. It's sad the group had all the falling outs, but this move really was a brilliant one. Sadly it wasn't to be for long. These 3 could sing their hearts out. Paul had such soul too. I wish we could have heard more from him. He had such a beautiful, soulful voice 😍
Ruff, E.K. and Dennis. They could have very well formed their own group, and rivaled anything Otis put together after their departure. Which also would have far surpassed their solo careers and perhaps led to greater longevity. Guess it wasn't to be. I really miss my boys Eddie, David, so very much! I dont listen to the radio at all cause I cant control what might come over the airwaves and I guess its their time now, yet I can tell you this , my Mother loved my music better than she cared for her own and I didnt have to be afraid that someone might offend her by swearing filthy unnecessarily to make no point at all, just cold being disrespectful to the listener over maybe 30 yrs of age! I remember WLIB in the morning with Eddie Ojay, and then in 72 WBLS with Frankie Crocker, man, in stereo!! Listen , you talk about something sounding good! The Manhattans had come out with" There's No Me Without You" and that song was so pure and sweet, and then the Spinners took over with "One of a Kind" and that was it! Rap came into the game about then with the Sugar Hill Gang as I remember but that was a different format, but I miss my groups and MOTOWN, STAX, CHESS, PHILLY INTERNATIONAL, and I wish I had the bank , cause I saw some young dudes out there doing it on Y.T and someone should be developing those young dudes to carry on the sound cause its not dead, just waiting to be asked for and then..............BAM !!!!

On this night, David came out and started that "encore" finish, but no one came out with him. My mother was a die hard Temptations fan, the 26th of this month would have been her 58th bday. So I'm traveling to Alabama to visit Eddie's grave site and the memorial Park for him. I'm taking her urn with me. So so excited although it's bitter sweet.

Both the video and the sound system are terrible. That aside, Dennis had put on a lot of weight by then. He used to be such a handsome guy that recorded a song with the Siedah Garrett who wrote Man in the Mirror, made widely known by Michael Jackson. Jackson really sang it far, far better than Garrett ever could and that is because he sang it from the heart. The saying, 'When it rains, it pours' can sometimes be clearly seen as with the Kennedy family. Well, the Temptations were one such example. The members not just died off one by one but closely and all so young. The founder is the one who has outlived all originals and newcomers. It is such a strange phenomenon with that group that speaks only sadness. Some very handsome guys were added after the 4 originals and dropped off like flies.
What a difference between what you hear and what I did. This was pure magic. Dennis Edwards was lit- the extra weight looks good on him. And honey, David Ruffin was ALWAYS fly. This performance was fire.

The members not just died off one by one but closely and all so young. The founder is the one who has outlived all originals and newcomers. It is such a strange phenomenon with that group that speaks only sadness. Some very handsome guys were added after the 4 originals and dropped off like flies.
