    Nothing in a dream is real, even though it feels as real as this present moment. The momentary is an amazing appearance, full of joys and sorrows all in consciousness. If we love it, or not, if we appreciate it, or not, it is all a dream. Yes, it feels real, this food body, with the mind, and all the senses. But don't be fooled by it. It is a ghost that has appear without your permission, and will leave without your permission. Even if the mind may become the culprit at the end. I was in a non dual, or non-existent state prior to feeling this momentary existence with all it nonsense. I will end where I started. No where, no thoughts, no needs, no suffering, or emotion of any kind. And I am very thankful for that. At the end of the dream, I am, and have been as I was. Not as an appearance, but as nothing at all. Yay! Thank you for anther wonderful video of Nisargadatta my Guru.

      Why not suicide? not that I advise this, just as a question. Mainlander's philosophy was that non-being is superior to being, and that's how he ended it. I think the spiritual process can only be suicide while alive, living as though dead, isn't it? In any event, we will end up, with no consciousness. Note that pure consciousness does not know itself; in that way, it's hard to call it consciousness. What would it be conscious of? Can there be consciousness without self-awareness? In one view, the reason there is a finite world is that pure consciousness cannot know itself other than through a finite, dual world, and even then, it still cannot know itself because it's not dual. Perhaps even pc or God is unhappy?

    • @mark7479
      @mark7479 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jazzsnare as for the problem of suicide taking one out of beingness and into non-existence.. well that's an issue of poorly understood classes of realms of statehood. One may speculate upon death frivolously unless he has had experience of those states beyond the 3 we enjoy in body, leaving out Sumadhi as the ever present 4th state of pure Awareness.
      Touching on dying, we are a multifaceted, many layered being that when comes time for bodily release, our other "layers" peel away one by one going to their respective destinations until uniting forces bring them to rebirth. Until then, in death man does not simply return to source, rather egoic selfhood retains quality of being yet without the brain it has no decision making process and so this aspect of the illusory self kind of rolls along based on tendencies, it's collected impressions having created an astral vehicle for habituated travel to scenes unknown to man during organic life. However I won't go deep into this as these subjects are touchy and as all is relative, subjective to the knower of them.
      The fact remains tha all percieved phenomena takes place within the Self, which is like a screen on which the movie plays while regardless of appearances seen, the unknowable seer remains as that which is. Awareness is beyond being and non being, it is the stateless state that ties together and transcends all duality.

From what I gather, mantras are given on an individual basis in accordance with an individuals spiritual development. The guru looks at the individual and sees whats needed and preacribes the mantra. On the other hand where is the question of individual persons in this whole entire premise? The very teaching is that your individuality is a misaprehension. So I say you should take the mantra you have found and apply it with sincerity, it will sprout whatever is meant to sprout

      Thoughts arise from the same place all phenomena do, from pure silence. Before the body accumulated and prana filled it and lit the mind, where was all this?

    I just cannot get beyond the reductionism which requires us to deny our being in the world as total illusion. We are not pure consciousness; we are that plus the body-mind. How could it be otherwise? Spending your whole life trying to stamp yourself out like a cigarette? If we were just pc we wouldn't be asking these questions. Imagine a man on a steep mountain, admiring the view, feeling grand. Yet, if he loses his footing, he is a mottled mess of carnage; both are the case (credit to Schopenhauer). Yet, Niz cannot be discounted.

The branches all work together so that you cannot see the sun. You see what I mean? This person you claim you are is an illusion of the highest order! I cannot give you any advice because each journey is subjective by proxy!! All I can say, and I am 100% serious, sober, and sane, is the part of you that thinks its

Or, does pure consciousness have a lack, which is that it does not see itself, then mires itself in duality only to find taht it cannot perceive itself there? jazzsnare you are asking the right questions. Nisargadatta Maharaj is someone I suggest on TH-cam. But I’ll say this: whatever ‘IT’ is has no ability to even conceptualize, it is aloof of its own existence. The mind fills the dream with content. It has created this web of existence that is really only memories strung together to create you.
      What is there outside of yourself that identifies with you?
      In a dream you appear. There is no questioning that it was “You”
      When you are awake you say it was a dream but who’s dreaming who? In either state you are sold on who you are.
      You cannot be the ‘I’ in both instances. And you cannot be the ‘I’ in either instance.
      So who are you really?
      Who or what determines what thought comes? And who or what determines where that thought goes? You have no power even over your “own” mind! And yet, you can be still and just observe the insanity. Then the knowledge will start coming TO YOU. You won’t have to search. It will unfold in its own. You are already on the path. Keep searching.

      @@jazzsnare Questions like these are in the realm of philosophy, not Self-Enquiry. Your Schopenhauer reference is a nice thought about it all. This is also all covered well in the realm of Science Fiction. Nisaragdatta is simply speaking from the highest state TO the highest state. Any explanation the mind comes up with as to "why" or "how" will be missing the point. There is no answer to "Who Am I?", it is a feeling to dive into and abide in, through Grace...

If the answer is no, why would you insist on being that person that is experienced in the waking state? If so, why would you make a difference to the dream? Are not both a mere experience in and of the realm consciousness?
