INDIA'S FIRST STAGE 2 VW VIRTUS GT 1.5: 190BHP & a brand new imported ECU from Europe! | Autoculture

- The realm of beginner tuning in India has always centered around the Volkswagen Polo. However, Volkswagen has now introduced the Volkswagen Virtus as the logical upgrade for Polo owners. The most powerful variant, the 1.5 TSI EVO Virtus GT, presented a challenge for enthusiasts due to its uncrackable ECU. Nevertheless, Carmed Bangalore found a way around this, and I now have a Stage 2 Volkswagen Virtus GT. Time to answer the burning question: Is the 1.5 TSI EVO the upgrade Polo enthusiasts truly deserve?

virtooos? were twos perhaps
😂😂
That’s actually how Volkswagen prefers to call it and probably the right pronunciation of the German word.
@@bsvphotography7 still virtoooos sounds wierrd
@@bsvphotography7 if it’s the right pronunciation it would be Fer-tus
When brown pretends as white 😂
The factory ecu comes locked and ain't friendly to open. So swapping out with an Ecu of the Troc which has the same 1.5tsi evo engine and which is unlocked from factory would have been the option. I hope. Plus if you get a straight pipe and install an EGR from the Octavia 2.0tsi or 1.8tsi, the car might gain a couple of more ponies and would be more agressive to drive.😈
Where are the roads to drive them ? 😂😂
@@kargo1517bro ,its not about just hitting the top end always.its the drivability, its the feel. Etc
The best B-roll shots of the Virtus ever, phenomenal job!
Just spoke to Kalyan from code 6 this evening and have been searching for this
The 40hp gain should make a massive difference. Not just feel a bit faster. 190hp vs 148 is 20% claimed bump.
Hey prithwi , knowing where you’re coming from ,1. was this comment sarcastic? I mean ECU swap is it worth it for this with the glitches or people should wait longer for local ecus to be unlocked? 2.On other hand with your experience how far do you think people can take these 1.5tsi with the numbers ?
@@superfitcs4005 not sarcasm at all. The claimed figures should make this car feel very very different. If it isn’t then the figures are not correct. Anyhow must wait for dyno figures, before and after.
And yes this is a TRoc ecu most likely. Also local ecu has been unlocked.
@@PrithwiRay Congratulations on the twins but why no more content on TH-cam 🥲
The fuck man. 200hp for car that’s 1.2 metric tonnes…… it’s slow.
These guys have pumped merely 40 horses on top of the 150. C’mon we can do better.
When virtus puts out atleast 500bhp, that’s a worthy project.
@@cypher10297 I wish, the issue with the 1.5tsi Evo is the astronomically high compression and tiny turbo. So you can’t boost that much with a tune and if you do, the motor will die a spectacular death from compression
Man this car already performs so excellent in sports mode then imagine what it is after stage 2 tune ... Already a mad machine 🔥
with the new manual transmission how much power can it sustain on the stock internals without having to think about the reliability ??
hope its above 200
DQ200 gonna R.I.P pretty soon
Exactly ... I don't know why anyone would buy that
@@cyrilmatthew2995it won't as long as u don't drag it, like if u r on 3rd gear and then accelerate hard, it won't cause any issue.
@@SharedAccount-yz9zb by default it's tuned for efficiency... So let's say if we are on a higher gear trying to slow down and then try to gain pace..it's kinda struggle to downshift ....it uoshifts are quicker and downshifts are delayed ...TCU remap can solve this ...but considering it's a dry system and Indian traffic..I prefer the manual anyday
I have been running the DQ200 on a 300bhp GTI for almost 90k kms. Absolutely no issue.
@@saileshunnithan We were talking about DSG issues in India considering to stop and go traffic .... It's a night mare ... 6 spd dsg is dq 250 which used in diesel iteration with 300 nm torque is much suited for Indian roads as it is wt clutch based but dq 200 isn't ...
But I don't sure where golf GTI uses dq 200 dry clutch as max torque rating for that gearbox is 250 nm unless you might have done some sort of TCU tune
Saw this car in person at Code 6 Bangalore. Looks even more killer in person ❤
DQ200 limiting this to 40hp gain sucks balls man
Ikr . Plus it’s a Dry clutch . A DQ250 would be better but that increases the price but man the performance will be bonkers then and then It being a Wet one it can easily sustain more Torque !
@@toxdrigaming1864 yes but at that point just get a VRS or a 530d?
The superb l n k also has a dq200 still it is capable of doing 500hp with race clutch how ?
@@vish91 true that !
Dq200 is anyways flawed. If it's working fine in any car, it's pure luck 😂😂
what sort of ECU is it? & what would be approx range to bulid like one..
Its Gonna Be Lit All Over India 🔥🔥🔥
is the carbon hood panel gap a bit too wide or is it just me thinking out loud that once it crosses 155 the hood might just pop up
How bout piggybacks ? Can they be used to tune ?
This is really fireeee❤
Add on some wild body fenders and viola, it’s perfect!
Can we go stage 3 in manual virtus with a garret turbo?
Please try adding pov of driver during pulls.
Finally the day arrived!
One of the best Looking Virtus
man i love this car❤
Absolutely beuatiful rims & stance ❤
Maybe when they are remapping manual there might be significant bump in horsepower for the present DQ 200 is the only limiting factor.
How can you tune a car without dyno? is it a guess work?
The looks maahn 🫡🫡🫡
Can I do the same tune for slavia 1.5?
Can’t we tune the MT version ??
Heyyy where is the spoiler Is from ???
Can I get link to buy the peddle shift extenders
Brilliantly shot.
But man that carbon bonnet fitment is horrendous.
Subscribed within a minute of ur talk
It dsnt have double projector head lamps...1 projector..1 indicator
Yess!!
Great content. But some questions tho.
1. There are no mentions of the torque figures. And when the tuning protocols were initially released a couple of months back, the torque made the headlines by being quite skeptical (around 350NM, yes I think its quite high for a petrol mill). Throw us some clarity on the same.
2. The ECU hasn't really been cracked, it's either a T-roc 1.5 ECU swap or an Imported ECU.
So this can't be classified as a ECU crack.
He did mention that the ecu was an imported one and the car hasn’t been dynoed yet, so torque figures aren’t available
@@m.r.rohithkrishnaa1398 Buddy if they are able to provide an estimation for the HP figures, they SHOULD be able to provide an estimation for torque as well. That has nothing to do with Dynoing.Dynos are meant for getting the most accurate figures and the HP-Torque curve. Atleast estimation should be available.
Should be around 320-340 Nm@@2jc_gte
what will the efficient?
Thanks for this video. Will it have any impact on the warranty?
Yes it would throw the warranty out of the window
which alloy is that
Without Forged pistons and crankshaft, i don't think stock internal parts will last long.
Honestly I wouldnt do anything to virtus 1.5 or any of the 1.5 tsi with dsg dq200.. dq200 thats coming with the outgoing virts/slavia/taigun/kushaq are heavily locked down and tuned down to prevent mechatronics failure that used to happen with the earlier units on vento TDi. The DQ200 itself has 250Nm torque limit. Idk how this tune is going to last. Still interesting to see these developments.
What about the dq200 gearbox? We know that it has 260 Nm max torque limit.
That’s why they are tuning stage 2 Tcu also bro
Where's that Carbon Fiber hood from!?
The pricing blowed away my sleepiness while its still pricy, its still pretty reasonable
That carbon fibre hood fitment is just bad. That panel gap makes even Tata cars’ fit and finish more polished.
Can you plonk that into a Slavia 1.5 Manual?
Cherry red colour of virtus is too good
Finally! The most awaited video! Couple of questions though:
1) Will this tune be compatible with the manual?
2) How has the owner changed the colour of the instrument console?
3) How is the ride quality and ground clearance with the mentioned 30mm drop in ride height?
The colour is changed by coding
Probably it will be compatible with the manual
My stock koda slavia 1.5MT Ambition was only 16.5 lakhs & it's still 90% the fun of this car. Mods aren't making sense for these cars so far!
Hopefully they will, financially.
Same but 13.8L :D
What’s the mileage difference
Without Dyno. We just cannot trust these numbers!
Troc ecu?
Max. Speed ?
Is this karnataka??
I can't understand why VW and Skoda do not offer the 1.5 TSI with rear disc brakes. When people can afford a 20L+ car, they very well can spend another 30-40k more.
Don't cut costs where it matters!
And before people jump and say that in FWD cars majority of the load is on the front brakes; Yes I know that. But when the frigging Yaris and Fluidic Verna came with rear discs, why not the Virtus and Slavia?
😂 they want the segment to be separated. If you want rear disc brakes they want us to go for Octavia or jetta
But it still performs better than so called verna in braking dept..
@@bharanidharanb9616not at all bro
@@Torquebeast650It performs better than verna, have seen videos...also i own a 1.5 slavia
@@brandonandrade9016 … No it doesn’t…
1.5 tsi MT is the virtus gt that should be tuned to the brim because the gearbox can take it unlike the dsg
Drum brakes ????
Proud owner of stock VW virtus 1.0 litre🥰
Can u tune my slavia 1.0 manual
Please have a POV camera angle it more the review more realistic...
is stage 3 available and what to do for that massive performance upgrade
New turbo, Forged internals, new intercooler, better injectors, new air filter, race clutch there is no end to the amount of mods that are possible it totally depends on what you want. Just know the more you mod, reliability decreases.
VW 1.5 TSI stock engine is undertuned, and can easily go to 200HP. Source: Munish on Sunderdeep singhs channel. Sounds like this has come true
Only tuned one Stock without ECU lock will go upto 165bhp to 170bhp not more than that
About time
Stage 2 is such a little thing how is it first in india?
Background music??
Do a drag with stock 1.5 then we can see the real difference
I guess ECU of Troc
Unfortunately no😅
Passat I guess
Show us rpm meter and speedometer how it accelerates and how it feels from inside , not the exhaust. How much it improved from stock , how faster it is l. I dont know why it is never shown in any of the video on this channel. Too much talking and less action.
how the f is the stage 2 a 190hp? the vernas 1.5 G4LH/GL4H is 193 on stage 1. dafaque?
Can I get more info about verna map ?
cuz thats a turbocharged engine, and this one is a naturally aspirated engine
@@lakshaybharara8976 what kind? the G4LH is/was meant to be accompanied by a 48V mild hybrid. there is a tuning box that takes it to stage one 140~kw and a remap from some tuners in uk that takes it to 130~kw (do not know the details.) stage 3 is a bit complicated, since the only build i saw was from some Malaysian guy on insta and i dont really know what all he did but 227hp i think it was (not sure). if you want more than that you would need to first get the remap + intercooler, downpipe, custom turbo (make the one in it a hybrid with larger internals), air intake. the wacky part, have the tuning box run on top of the stage 1 tune as such that the box modifies the values on the stage 1 tune instead of the onboard memory that has stock values of the regular 158/168hp factory settings. this should put you around 300hp (±25 ) and 260+lb-ft of torque. again a really scuffed method for stage 3 of this car. the vw groups 1.5 evo (ea211) has a hybrid turbo from RTMG for 290 max hp on 99 RON (not sure of the ron rating). it can go beyond that but you would need to custom fit a is20/k04 turbo with all the needed parts fabricated. forged pistons with reduced compression.
Street legal?
The first mod to be done in german cars which have the dq200 is a swap to 250…then other mods should follow…people here are more inclined towards HP’s
Just buy the manual. Easier on the pocket than the DQ200/250 and can handle way more torque just by upgrading the clutch
Itna Kam volume q
Do a top speed check now that the limiter is taken out
Can anyone please help me get who is CEO of Vw India and his email?
So many extras that the main content feels lost. Video actually properly begins after the halfway mark.
Nevermind. The main content doesn't exist. The video title and thumbnail had more details than the video.

It's latin so that is how you say it.
Can we do the same for the Slavia?
Yes
What’s the use of those ponies, when you’re gonna stay in a so called tubelight’s orvm

but.... the 230 with dented skirt ain't pristine!
Looking gorgeous.
To be honest, stock Verna Turbo is still way too faster than this tuned Virtus!
Not faster but can give a very good competition to tuned virtus
I am wondering what if someone tuned verna😮
Can a car with modifications have warranty?
No
This channel really is annoying, you don't even have accurate power figures, talking about a tuned car and not even doing 0-100? What kind of enthusiast are you?
Then why are you watching? What do you mean we don't have accurate power figures? We share the power figures shared by the tuners themselves, not sure what more you want. And where do you want us to test 0-100KPH in Bangalore without getting in trouble or putting someone in danger? What kind of a enthusiast are you?
@@SohamSaraf well I'm sorry for hoping that this channel was sensible enough to do it's research about the car properly before releasing the video. It's the channel's responsibility to present all necessary info about the car and the tune, and come on 0-100 time is not a difficult thing to measure, people who genuinely care would do it. You can't present a tune without measuring its power figures.
@@ayushyasrivastava5189 well I'm sorry that you are so ignorant. The tuners themselves haven't been able to measure those metrics. Where will do the "research" from? We are literally in talks with the Code 6 HQ people while creating this video. @@ayushyasrivastava5189 Vitroooos wale ko bura lagg gaya 😂
@@ayushyasrivastava51890-100 takes about 8.7 seconds now. Also, since this is a ECU from a TRoc, it should be around 190-200 hp, depending on which kind of tune you run, whether you want a conservative one or an engine-damaging one. Torque figures can be anywhere from 320-250 Nm
Why only 40hp gain after stage 2
the turbo has been the same, maybe that's why
They might be concerned over reliability of DQ 200
its naturally aspirated, NA cars dont have a lot of tuning potential
