Very nice. This whole double-album-of-sorts of Marlin's ("Fable & Fire", "Witching Hour") is terrific. But what I wanna know is, what does "The Hawk is a Mule" mean??
I think it means everyone struggles. Hawks are viewed as a predator, catching easy pray and soaring around to no end. Mules are worker animals, traditionally employed on rural farms. Maybe it means even the hawk has it hard. Maybe we all do.
Lovely to see Andrew Marlin and Eli West (didn't know the other chaps) but cameraman , please note, the sort of people that are going to watch this video are (like me) the "finger-starers" - for us the action is watching the fingers on the fretboards, so shooting from a position that obscures the fretboards of the lead player particularly, with the mics, is very frustrating for us. that's why we "watch" musical vids. Thanks
In 43 years I'll be telling the radio that I grew a hundred years old because I listened to this tune every morning.
Lyrics:
The Hawk is a Mule
The Hawk is a Mule
The Hawk is a Mule
The Hawk is a Mule
Eli West is such a great sideman; such beautifully understated playing. Really compliments Andrew's mandolin (my absolute favourite mandolin player)
Andrew Marlin is my favorite musician!
This is so good. I love the fiddle and mandolin work...Jack Baker NYC/NJ
I'm on my third repeat of this song and can't seem to shut it off, please send help

Super duper spectaculous splendelicious
Just plain brilliant!
¡Qué hermosura de canción!
Nice Groove👍. The simplicity makes this one of the best melodic grass tunes I’ve heard in some time.
I think this is the greatest song ever invented
Very nice 👏 enjoy listening to this piece👍
This is excellent! Great groove and melody. The Buried in a Cape stuff has been on repeated listening as of late.
Marvellous!
Symbiotic relationship. Awesome.
Instant classic
Jesus that's good

@@dangreenleaf3698 Actually, it's about using a hawk as a mule to transport contraband across the US/Canadian border.
@@lowtone9 really?? 🤣
Is there a lyric sheet available??
Something about a hawk?
The hawk is a mule.
