Never got a notification for this one either. At least I got today's which made me check the list and find this one. Those old Case Steigers were great looking tractors.
I grew up running a CIH 9130 row crop special, and then a 9330 row crop special. They were great tractors and a testament to the Steiger design and engineering.

The OXBO 2340 looks like a nice machine and requires a 150HP tractor minimum. We've used a 21 HP tractor on tandem rakes for a total of 18 feet per pass, but I realize the problem they're solving is slightly different than I'm used to.
Hey Jazzerbyte sound like us here in Western Pennsylvania. We pull a 7-foot new Holland 256 and an eight and a half foot 402 belt drive new idea one with a either a Farmall BN or c or super h one of two on the farm or sometimes we use a 460 but we usually go to the field with both of them so we're taking 15 ft to pass the 40 horsepower roughly. Sometimes I think it would be fun to farm like this big guys and other times I'm think I'm satisfied not to have their parts bills and their fuel bills LOL!

I swear I’m watching the leaves fly off that alfalfa. Cool concept but a lower profile pickup and wind guard would benefit it in this application I think.
Definitely a solid Replacement of the old dual and triple rake setups from Then IH and John Deere! Only needed a 25-60 hp 2WD tractor though at best to pull them.
Thanks for sharing. I was "fortunate" enough to run one of these a few times several years ago. I followed the liquid manure spreader with the chisel plow. Actually it wasn't too bad with the doors shut. Lol. ✌️🖖

Always fancied converting a pull type swather into a merger, im raking silage and hay this season with my 60yr old NewHolland No.56 basket rake, old girl has done 0ver 400 acres this season already
I don't remember seeing an articulated tractor on a merger until earlier this week when I saw an older deere, 8630 I think, on singles with an H&S merger, not as large as that Oxbo
in my neck of the woods, big articulate looks weird on a merger, farm i work on we run two oxbo's 330 and 334. 34 foot and a 30 foot can throw alot of hay togeather in short order.

In my area only big farms have 4wd mostly every runs row cops cuz of feild size....intresting to see a 4wd tractor merg hay.

We had our John Deere 8760 on our big square baler.
I used to rake hay with a Ford 2000 gas .... my how times have changed.

Moisture has to be just right,or you'll damage the hay by loosing the leaves on the alfalfa....looks like

Never seen an articulated 4 wd merging seems like it a lot of overkill. Looks cool though.
The 9330 is the same horse power as a Deere 6R and 7R. It has better views from the cab.

What speed was he running that rig at? Felt quite fast (Although not on the scale of that self propelled merger that's your most popular video)
i run the older oxbo's looks like he was running around 7-8 mph which based on field conditions is about right. lighter hay can get as fast as 10 heavy hay around 5 to 6.
@@aaronwarr34 It definitely looked an in-between of dry and wet. Although it looks pretty green and fresh to my untrained eye for what i assume is pre baling swath creation.
That is a very SMALL windrow for an 80 feet of lercerne [alfalfa] been merged into ONE windrow !

Wouldn’t a rake and a 80 horse tractor do the same thing?
No this machine is built to travel at 9 mph or more and sweep together 40ft of crop per pass. That is allot of tons that requires allot of power. A rake is not built to handle that much heavy green crop. It would cause stress cracks on the frame.
