  • Prince Harry "must have regrets" over being left out of King Charles' historic coronation, says The Sun's former Royal Editor Duncan Larcombe.
Larcombe tells The Royal Tea that Prince Harry seeing the Apache helicopters participating in the royal fly past, an aircraft he was trained as a pilot, "must have made him regret" not being involved in the event.
In this week’s Royal Tea Sarah Hewson is joined by Larcombe, Royal commentator Emily Andrews and TalkTV regular Afua Hagan.
From witnessing the historic events of the King’s Coronation to all the gossip and chatter of the weekend’s celebration, our three royal experts bring you special insight.

Harry wasn't high so stop with the development. Harry was happy to be able to attend and then leave to celebrate his son's birthday. Harry a soaking in the California sun, eating seasoned food, moisturized, and loved by his wife and children 🥰 Harry is no longer the Cinderfella of the family.

@@ladydove5895 I'm British and I love having our wonderful Royal family. I would rather have a Monarchy than a President that's for certain. People don't realise that our Royal family bring in more money than it costs us British taxpayers. Our Royal family bring in anything between 1.7 to 2 billion pounds in revenue a year in tourism, whilst the Royal family only cost us British taxpayers £500 million a year, sometimes less, if the minority of Republicans want rid of our great Royal family, bear in mind that the government will have to find that 1.7 to 2 billion pounds revenue in higher taxes, it's bad enough now. Enjoy this show as usual. However, I must disagree with this panel, regarding their critique of one of the photographs. Its perfectly appropriate that the senior members were the focus. As of course they should be. This photograph is & will be, historically significant. Its a purposefully important representation, that represents & reveals, a necessary designation from the younger members. Its historical documentation. There is a very important lineage before and without the younger members. These are THE Impressive individuals, who forged or at least have impacted history prior. That's significant & critical to separate factions. Don't forget, this Monarchy, this bloodline, the lives, the who's, the why's & wherefores, have been, painstakingly & excruciatingly & dedicatedly documented, for 1000 years. That's unbelievably incredible. And, its necessary to have this photo, as the chosen one. They aren't just a group of elders. Do your homework. Connect the dots. You'll discover why. This family knows Protocol backward, forward & side to side. So, it wasn't a knee jerk photo. It was chosen. Its significant. There was an entire day of focus on the younger Bluebloods. They are never left out. If you study for a bit, you'll realize the implications & information revealed & represented in the photo. Stop acting like the Public noticed anything dismissive or remiss. We didn't. The empire won't fall. These elders are the reason the younger generation exists, to learn & carry on.

When I was young I had zero interest in the royal family. I remember when Diana died, I was 21, and couldn't get my head around why people were crying etc. Anyway I am 48 now and understand the importance of the royal family and the cultural significance they hold. I was listening before the coronation broadcast to commentators. More than half were young people and not one mention of feelings change over time or redemption for the royal family. I think that the cultural aspect of monarchy should be taught. Not so young people like them, they have more important stuff to figure out at that age. But to at least understand how they are underappreciating their own culture.

There was a danger of us losing our sense of tradition a decade or two ago. This was recognised by educators and governmental bodies. Fortunately, within the last few years, the education system here has adapted, realising that our children benefit from a sense of British culture, tradition and family values. So from pre-schooling at 2 or 3 years old right up to 16+, our National Curriculum makes provision for that.
It is usually embedded within other subjects, eg history but sometimes taught as a stand-alone subject. Schools all over Britain have been celebrating the coronation in many creative ways! My 4 -year-old granddaughter dressed up as Queen Camilla last week, my 3 year-old grandson made coronation cakes and rosettes and his 8 year-old sister's class made their own coronation feast, all dressed up and set out in red, white and blue. All made flags and crowns, thrones and soldiers and so on. Just an example of what went on in our schools recently!

The Princess of Wales' headdress was extremely reminiscent of the headdresses worn by the the late Queen's Ladies in Waiting at her own coronation in 1953. Was that a coincidence, do we think? Possibly not, and if not, it was a lovely touch.
