Thanks for these build guides--love your Pathfinder videos! Would love to see an Eldritch Archer guide if you ever get the inkling to dork around with that class!
I have another (easier) suggestion. You should put some good builds up for the companions. Like good builds that would complement the main builds you have. Nice Trickster build too.
Just started playing this again, Grease has to be one of the best spells in the game, it literally changes many fights from difficult to mundane. Even when your tank by mistake has to roll you still win.
Personally I find Hurricane bow to be an excellent early spell for this build over snowball. 1D6 with a single cast vs 2D6 on all attacks for 10 rounds is the better bang IMO. A single hit over 10 attacks can outpace the value of a single snow ball. Later snowball is great of course but I find the bow value is there for the whole game particularly when you start using the sneak attack with the bow when your cleaning up the end of big fights or dealing with fodder.
so I was wondering if you would be willing to try and make a viable "Debuff" build, a build not focusing on killing with damage, but by literally reducing stats to 0, I... know this is probably not possible to make one that relies solely on this, but it would be fun to see the best possible way to go about it anyway, i have been slightly looking into it myself but I am just too new to the pathfinder scene and CRPG's in general to really know whats good and whats not.
Nice build! Personally I'd be interested in seeing your takes on less popular/ less strong classes and archetypes like the Eldritch Scoundrel, for example. At first glance, it seems like it was build to become an Arcane Trickster, but then you realize that one level of rogue + a few levels of wizard or sorcerer is actually much better for becoming an AT. So is there any way to make a good, fun to play Eldritch Scoundrel that's not just a worse than average Arcane Trickster?
I think the Scoundrel is a tad stronger than a Trickster in Melee Combat, as they have a Rogue BAB where the Trickster would have at least 3 levels of Wizard/Sorcerer BAB and then 10 levels or the same trash BAB (trickster BAB is the same as Wizard) At 20th level a Scoundrel will have 15 BAB, but a Trickster will have around 10, or 11 BAB. But the Trickster gets more spells, and faster access to those spells than a Scoundrel does. So the trade off is this, a Scoundrel can do better melee/bow, with a little bit of casting added in. A Trickster can do better Spells and Sneak Attacks with Spells, with trash BAB. But yeah, I kind of want to dork with that scoundrel now...
Great video. No nit-picks this time :) You gave arguments about what I was going to ask, but since they're valid everything's cool. Quick question though, if you combine grease and let's say burning hands or fireball does the game produce some extra effect like maybe lingering fire within the grease area or somethng of the like?
Negative. That's Divinity Original Sin stuff. The Pathfinder system does not consider spell interactions like those, I assume because it would make balancing spellcasters even more difficult.
Hey Liquid. I absolutely love your videos, I just came up with a build and I'm really loving the results. Was wondering if you could test it out and see if you can find some improvements. @@ArcaneAgent You could get even more, I fooled around yesterday with a sorc and noticed that when you melee with unarmed (or the claw attacks from fiery body) at least all the sorcerer buffs you cast that add +elemental damage actually applies it as it's own attack. in order to do this you need to pick up geniekind + firebrand at least. this means: the physical hit gets all your sneak attack dice. then geniekind does its 1d6 damage + all your sneak attack dice. then firebrand+fiery body do their firedamage + all your sneak attack dice again. I tried messing around with sacred fist multiclassing but their draconic fury does not work this way, it works as a regular weaponenchant on your fists.
