it's a funny thing ambition,it can lead you to sublime hights or harrowing depths, sometimes they're one in the same thing;Roseburrows learned that lesson all to well.
This kind of thing is exactly what gaming needs more of. Substance, plausibility, characterization and high art. This art team is going places. Bravo! I just hope the makers of this won't selfishly hoard their talent away from the rest of the industry.
Honestly, I don't think it would fit the setting of Karnaca even if they tried. Karnaca isn't nearly as dark, dirty or dystopian as Dunwall. It's a shining paradise where things are just starting to go wrong. The color palette would have to change drastically to even try.
One of the best game worlds ever created. A masterpiece. Art. I hope Arkane will revisit the Isles soon. I think Beatrici Attano has something to add to the legacy of her brother...
#dhgamestudios dishonored is pretty much the definition of steampunk. Polluted city in the middle of the ocean, disease ridden streets and the odd face styles, and it just has the whole overall steampunk feeling
It's a funny thing, ambition. It can take one to sublime hights or harrowing depts. And sometimes they are one and the same. Roseburrow learned that leason all to well. Love how she says this.
If this is what I should expect from the game (book-like stories), then I'm even happier I pre-ordered it! From what I can tell this will be one of the best games in a long, long while.
They enhanced the menu system to be more UI friendly and accessible. They included the perking system and modified how skill trees work. They improved combat with finishing moves and the dual wielding abilities. They made spells more distinct, instead of including a cluster-fuck of randomness. They did make the graphics a shit tonne better for it being on the same engine, and you can't say that doesn't count because enhancing graphics through a new engine on the same system isn't easy.
In-game it's hinted that she's missed by the people of Dunwall, I doubt they'd miss a tyrant. I have supposed that in the six months between her murder and Corvo's escape, Burrows imposed all the totalitarian, opressive measures. These shorts were made before the game was out, so several storyline facts were changed or hadn't been planned yet. In fact, the third short, which focuses on Piero, has him looking like Wallace. They must have changed the character model during development.
I'm excited to see how this whole game plays out, to learn the stories and live in another world for a while. I'm excited to learn that names and faces of the VIPs in the game, and to know if I will be the one to take them down, or let them live. This game is gonna be epic!
Cant wait to play this. Oh and people asking about FO4, This is not the same team that does FO3 and TES, they are a different branch of the same company and have nothing to do with those games.
I like games with good stories and this seems to be a very creative one. Now I'm not saying that the core of the story hasn't been done before but this is presented in a very compelling way!
The narrator is Chloe Grace Moretz, who plays Emily in the game and known for her role as Hit-Girl in Kick Ass, Isabelle in Hugo, and Abby in Let Me In. I'm not sure if she's supposed to be the boy.
I agree with the boss fights, the only difference is that some characters has slightly more health, but they weren't any different from normal creatures.
Its a video game, for the gameboy advance. The second game in the series was released in the U.S. as Earthbound, but the first and third games never were. You can find a fully translated rom of it on the internet. I'd recommend it. Its a pretty good game.
This actualy sounds like a decent plot for a movie or sequel to Dishonored. It also reminds me a bit of C&C: Tiberium where the earth was also uninhabitable for over 80%.
Yeah. I cried. Dammit. I WANTED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS CHARACTER. It doesn't help that Rosenburrow kinda reminds me of Arcade from Fallout: New Vegas. Agh my heart. He also wasn't bad looking - at all.
"Bethesda Game Studios" are the developers that brought us Skyrim, while "Bethesda Softworks" Published it. while for Dishonored, "Arkane Studios" are the Developers while "Bethesda Softworks" are the publishers, which all 3 companies are under "ZeniMax Media", which also own id software, and ZeniMax Online, which is the development studio bringing Elder Scrolls online, hopefully that made somethings clear.
No that would be you. What he had said was that it was understandable for someone to be confused about who the developer was since Bethesda's name was all over it. He understood that Arkane was developing, he was just poiting out that it wasn't that ridiculous that some other people might be confused.
It's kind of implied that Sokolov's big ideas involved modernizations of Dunwall's military. And when you consider the fact that the game takes place during a period of harsh dictatorship...it's only inevitable the technology would be used to crush the populace in the event of protest.
Dishonored is all about player choice. It gives you powers and weapons kinda like BioShock does (except the Dishonored ones look more diverse) and tells you do tackle the objectives presented in any way possible. That could be through straight up gun combat, stealth, negotiation, or anything in between and any combination, and using your powers if you want. Also, the story for Dishonored is very different than BioShock's. Look it up.
Yeah that's true, the city might feel a bit disjointed if you only get to see it during missions. I don't know if there's a hub/how big it'll be though, I think that'll impact it a lot.
What is it about Bethesda videos that attract so many fanboys looking to argue about something completely unrelated. Can't we all just focus on how amazing all of the pre-release content for Dishonored is and move on with our lives?
I mean, they're claiming you'll be able to go anywhere you want, if you see a roof you can go there if you see a building you can go there, so maybe the mission stages are rather large, like an entire city for itself, kinda like deus ex, only with more room for exploration and interaction, so the open world is limited to the current stage, which would then be at the size of the city, while the entire world is the size of several islands. I can't imagine it being a world to explore otherwise.
Skyrim got 10/10 on most reviews and is top 1 of the most awarded game of all time. Not to mention it has the biggest average of hours played per player.
Could bethesda please turn off comments for this video? 9/10 comments are about games which aren't even made by the same developer. I for one thought this was pretty awesome, and can't wait to see more webisodes.
they designed the entire land of skyrim, they wrote stories for main story, side quests and factions, they redesigned the combat system completely, I bet that take some time
Personally, there are a lot of games I'm hyped for (those included), but the game I'm most looking forward to is The last of us. If you don't know what is you should look it up because it looks AWESOME! :D
Bethesda has several development teams working on many different projects including this one as well as Dawnguard and DLC for both as well as new projects.
yes it made it clear that you can't read. He never said otherwise. He just said that since Bethesda's name is so common around this game it is understandable for SOMEONE ELSE to be confused on who the developer is. He never said he himself didn't understand.
I really hope for a Thalmor-expansion/DLC, a big one centered around them and the Empire. Bigger than Dawnguard ( sorta what Shivering Isles was compared to Knights of the Nine ).
He wasn't saying otherwise. He is just saying that considering how much Bethesda's name is used in relation to the game it isn't that shocking that some people are confused.
No RandyOlssen's comment was directed towards the idea that some people had that Bethesda was publishing. Hence why his statement went along the lines of since Bethesda's name is all over it you can understand where the confusion can come from. Not once in his comment did he say anything about or refer to EA.
After seeing this, I really wish Roseburrow hadn't killed himself. How awesome would it have been to interact with him in-game? Hear the sure-to-come monologues about responsibility and technology and science and all that, and maybe be able to affect what he ultimately does (i.e. whether or not he kills himself). Really fucking awesome, that's how.
why because 100's of people have MISREAD his comment. He is saying it isn't hard to believe someone might get confused. He is NOT saying that Bethesda developed this.
I love the Aesthetics of Dunwall.
Still my favorite game of all time.
Sullendust in my top 5 for sure
Sullendust totally agreed
Yes it is Chloe Grace Moretz aka Lady Emily who is narrating if anyone is wondering
These shorts were so goddamn well made... Bethesda can pull off great pieces of art when they want to.
Arkane, dammit. Arkane made this game. You should thank them for this game. Bethesda just happens to publish the game.
Unqualified Ursine Psyop made the animation
@@RyanCallaghan where did you find this info?
@@thechrisman1345 You probably figured it out already, but it's in the description.
it's a funny thing ambition,it can lead you to sublime hights or harrowing depths, sometimes they're one in the same thing;Roseburrows learned that lesson all to well.

Emily reads with power. She made such a great character.
"Roseburrow learned that lesson all too well..."
You can actually feel the weight of those words. Sublime voice acting!
Here's hoping we'll get some 'Tales From Karnaca' webisodes in the lead up to Dishonored 2's November release!
jigowatt121 Too bad they decided to go with a shitty live action and pop up book trailer. Missed opportunity.
Tibrr my name is byf made some videos similar to tales of dunwall
Honestly, I don't think it would fit the setting of Karnaca even if they tried. Karnaca isn't nearly as dark, dirty or dystopian as Dunwall. It's a shining paradise where things are just starting to go wrong. The color palette would have to change drastically to even try.
Cant stop watching these
One of the best game worlds ever created. A masterpiece. Art. I hope Arkane will revisit the Isles soon. I think Beatrici Attano has something to add to the legacy of her brother...
I HAD my doubts about story in Dishonored. They're gone. Totally. This is amazing. I love you, Arkane.
#dhgamestudios dishonored is pretty much the definition of steampunk. Polluted city in the middle of the ocean, disease ridden streets and the odd face styles, and it just has the whole overall steampunk feeling
Marstar Shteampunk The devs call it Whalepunk. It's definitely derived from Steampunk.
This was really really well done. It sure as hell sets the tone for what is to come.
can't wait for the other parts to the story, really want to see how it fits into the background of the game more
i agree, this is one of those few times that the dialog makes you feel emotional, along with the awsome animation and music.
i love that they both come out the same day, wouldn't want either to be pushed into holiday season. i've waited long enough :)
I expect nothing less from Chloe Moretz she's done great work to be young: Let Me In, Kick-Ass, and Hugo just to name a few.
I love these so much, especially this one.
6 years later, still haunting, I love this game so much
It's a funny thing, ambition. It can take one to sublime hights or harrowing depts. And sometimes they are one and the same. Roseburrow learned that leason all to well.
Love how she says this.

i love the comic style of this video it somehow reminds me of the game limbo
i think it perfectly catches the mood of the game dishonored
These are really awesome and really well made.
In-game it's hinted that she's missed by the people of Dunwall, I doubt they'd miss a tyrant. I have supposed that in the six months between her murder and Corvo's escape, Burrows imposed all the totalitarian, opressive measures.

i love the way the video looks, realy cool art style
As soon as I heard her voice I knew it was HitGirl. Can't wait to see Chloe's reappearance in Kickass 2.
The two tragies of ambition: you either fail, or succeed
I'm excited to see how this whole game plays out, to learn the stories and live in another world for a while. I'm excited to learn that names and faces of the VIPs in the game, and to know if I will be the one to take them down, or let them live. This game is gonna be epic!
wow, that gave me goosebumps :) glad to see there is a good story so far
I cant wait to play this game! Wonderful vid. Well done.
After watching more videos and learning more about this game i'm quite exited for it to come out.
I agree. I'm not expecting Deus Ex hub style maps for every missions, but it'd definately give more room to explore the closer they get to that.
Cant wait to play this. Oh and people asking about FO4, This is not the same team that does FO3 and TES, they are a different branch of the same company and have nothing to do with those games.

This was AWesome, Make more o' this, Bethesda :D
This type of animation looks amazing!

I'm not sure if she's supposed to be the boy.
Darn, you got me there. You argumentative genius.
Such awesome animations
Pure goosebumps
It's a funny thing, ambition.
It can take one to sublime heights, or harrowing depths; and sometimes they're one and the same.
This is amazing! I can't wait for more episodes! And for the game too.
I agree with the boss fights, the only difference is that some characters has slightly more health, but they weren't any different from normal creatures.

Wow... the narrating is on point
No wonder Chloe Moretz is known for voice acting. Absolutely phenomenal.
This actualy sounds like a decent plot for a movie or sequel to Dishonored.
It also reminds me a bit of C&C: Tiberium where the earth was also uninhabitable for over 80%.
very nice, can't wait till part 2
this is a masterpiece to me.
Lore that goes beyond a clip of seven consecutive kill moves?
I'm intrigued.
I think what he meant was that the entire world was hand-crafted, which actually IS something completely new they've done in the series.
"Its a funny thing ambition, it can take one to sublime heights or heroing depths, and sometimes they are on in the same."
It's all about originality and depth, bro.
DISHONORED FOR GOTY!
Yeah. I cried. Dammit. I WANTED TO KNOW MORE ABOUT HIS CHARACTER. It doesn't help that Rosenburrow kinda reminds me of Arcade from Fallout: New Vegas. Agh my heart. He also wasn't bad looking - at all.

Dang this jumped their technology ahead at least 200 years!
Dishonored is all about player choice. Usually, when a game nears completion, the art team is set aside without anything to do. In this case however, they made this :)
That was just Beautiful.
Yeah that's true, the city might feel a bit disjointed if you only get to see it during missions. I don't know if there's a hub/how big it'll be though, I think that'll impact it a lot.
That's great! They also made Dark Messiah, aren't they? I played Dark Messiah and I loved it.

the landscape is amazing in skyrim

I like the atmosphere.
this is like a mix of bioshock and assassin's creed :O
Skyrim was a brilliant game.

I honestly cannot wait for this game.

we need more dishonored. i think it's my favorite game of 2021. sorry far cry.
Love this kind of trailer!

i wanted it as soon as i heard about bethesda being involved, now i've done some research and found it is actually a cool looking game i want it more.
This is amazing
Yes Chloe Moretz is narrating. She is also voicing a character in the game.
This and XCOM: Enemy Unknown are my two most anticipated games right now. I just hate how they both come out on the same day.
Damn, never knew hitgirl (chloe moretz) could sound so haunting, top job on the narration though
Cannot wait for this game.... seriously!!!
Wow, these are really good...
He wasn't saying otherwise. He is just saying that considering how much Bethesda's name is used in relation to the game it isn't that shocking that some people are confused.
are you going to make a part 4

reminds me a lot of that 3 brothers scene in harry potter
That sounds perfect!
