So you've mentioned silicones and specifically dimethicone a couple of times in relation to clogged pores I have been trying to avoid it. But I work in a drugstore where we sell some high end brands like Estee Lauder, clinique, Lancome etc and all of the serums I've checked have somekind of silicone in it, so what can you use of you shouldn't use those? Cause I'm a student at uni and can't afford the world so I generally just use what I get from the store to try out but those tend to clog my pores :(
A silicone free serum I've found is the vitamin c one from Sephora Collection. Some moisturizers I've found is the hydrate and repair from Sephora Collection and skinactive with rosewater from Garnier.
Hi Susan. I've been using The Ordinary.0.5% retinol with squaline, for about 4 months now. And since I've started using it I've been getting a lot of 'little pimples', which I never used to get. I would get an occasional pimple here and there which I'm guessing was hormonal. I started the retinol to help with texture and doing a chemical exfoliation but now I have these constant little pimples to deal with. Any advice please?

Lucas G I can’t find anything without fragrance so I would skip for that reason alone. Cerave SA cleanser and PM lotion can be used by all ages and is free of irritants.
Mira Parker thank you for your reply. I noticed the fragrance but I don’t have sensitive skin so personally it does not bother me. I have been using the line now since Friday ( a week now) my skin has cleared up drastically. I’m going to give it a few more weeks and if I notice any irritation I’m going to stop use
You mentioned not using coconut oil on your face, i would never put coconut oil itself on my face but I was looking into using a serum with 5 oils, and one of them is coconut oil.
I don’t know if you’ve talked about this in a previous video, but I’ve recently been hearing about how another way to help control oil production for oily skin is to add products with Linoleic acid since oily skin is lacking that acid. Could you talk about this in an upcoming video?
Anne Worawan I don’t find The Ordinary retinoid products very effective. Differin is a good OTC option if you have acne but it’s a retinoid (adapalene to be specific) not OTC retinol. The best affordable one is hands down The Inkey List retinol serum. It’s a very effective 1% treatment that’s excellent for anti aging, texture, and more.
Hi a very informative one.following u quite a lot lately..one question.I use powder facewash for morning n i am afraid if it clog my pore.whats ur thought regarding this
I have tried a few toners, but I just don’t see or feel the benefits of a toner. Also, it’s a bit confusing when an Esthetician tells me to use a toner, but a dermatologist tells me not to use a toner. I have dry skin, but since I stopped washing my face with soap and switched to a cleanser, that’s getting better. Right now my skincare consists of a Retinoid, Hyaluronic acid, moisturizer, cleanser, and a double cleanse when needed. Along with mask, Argon oil for Jade rolling, structured water for micro needling, with sheet mask and peel mask a few times a month. I would love to know what would be a good toner for dry/mature skin, anyone?? I would love to see a video talking about toners if possible too, thanks 💜💋💋Love your videos, BTW!
I would actually recommend an essence if you're looking for more hydration, I feel it gives me more than a toner before serum and moisturizer. 👍 I personally love Vital treatment's essence.
Toner can pack hydration in your skin. You can layer them like the Koreans do. I do 3-5 layers of toners depending on my skin need. Super hydrating! You can search on TH-cam for 7 skin method. I love my hada labo gokyujun, soon jung, keep cool bamboo and I'm from rice toner.
Its nice i used it on my kids on ein second grade and other one is kg my sister used it too its chemical free really nice soft it’s really help of ir skin is sensitive because its chemical free
Pores actually don't open/close and as a result can't tighten because they're not muscles so I'm pretty sure that's false. Perhaps they feel "tightened" because it's cold and you "feel" less sensation
Hi Beautiful! A recent new Subscriber here, my name is Liz ☺️ I had a question, would you say using products that are meant to pull out build up from pores, such as nose strips and some harsh peel off masks tear the pores to some degree making them actually larger? I’m always trying to keep my pores clear but have begun to steer clear from using those type of products because I felt like it actually made my pores appear larger after and I had to clear them more often. 🤷🏻♀️ Great Video!! Thanks for All the Insight!! 🌸
Lizzy Satterfield Yes, I have the same question. In the past I used the Biore nose strips in high school (ages ago!), and I think that was the stuff that made my pores appear larger.
I tried using coconut oil on my cystic acne- prone skin because it was dried out from the topical acne meds I was using. Big mistake. I think I tried it because I saw some natural blog about how good it was. Our skin is not created equal, even if you have the same skin “type.” What works for me and my acne prone skin may not work for others with acne prone skin.
What about Shea butter? I love me some Shea butter, is that ok to use? I know it’s a 0 on the comedogenic chart which is awesome! It’s so rich and moisturizing for me.
Im a 15 yd female and I want to know when is the time to get a full skincare routine including like exfoliator serum oil based cleansor etc because so far I only use a cleanser and a light lotion year round and my mom says I'm too young to have a full on skincare routine so I really want to when is the right time to get one.
Your videos have been so informative and helpful for me! You can count me as a loyal subscriber now! I would really love to see a review of Fourth Ray Beauty (ColourPop's skin care line) because it's SUPER affordable and I wanna know if it's actually good quality skincare!
Thanks for the info. What is your take on bakuchiol as a retinoid alternative? Would it be just as effective for pores for those of us with sensitive skin?
People always forget about ingredients that help balance oil production like oils high in linoleic acid such as grape seed oil or hemp seed oil that way the sebum is less thick and pore clogging and the sebum becomes thinner and more fluid to where sebum won’t clog pores as often
Morgan Miller I just got the Drunk elephant retinol like 3 weeks ago! I used it for the first time on a Friday, and then waited a full week before I used it again. So I’ve only used it 2x, and this coming Friday will be my 3rd time! It’s my first retinol and I have extremely dry and sensitive skin with rosacea. The past 3 days I’ve been wondering why my skin has been looking so clear and bright, and realized that the only thing I’ve done differently is added in a retinol!! It’s the first retinol I’ve ever tried but I think it’s great, so far. It didn’t cause any peeling or agitation on my skin. But my face looks clearer, brighter, and less red!

What is an affordable retinol you recommend?
The ordinary
Anne Worawan diffen gel
I like Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair retinol serum. I only use it about once a week.
Tree of Life has a good one
Thanks for the info and great tips as always! xoxo
What do you think of the La Roche-Posay brand?
Hi a very informative one.following u quite a lot lately..one question.I use powder facewash for morning n i am afraid if it clog my pore.whats ur thought regarding this
I would love to see something on Fungal Acne!! :)
Love your videos, btw! :)
Tina Fox Susan said that Toners are not necessary for your routine (check out her video about unnecessary products!)

I heard that rubbing ice is good for tightening pores. is that true?
Would really love if you reviewed the brand “bliss” and there new serums they just released. One is for the day and one is for the night
I love your top!😍
What about Shea butter? I love me some Shea butter, is that ok to use? I know it’s a 0 on the comedogenic chart which is awesome! It’s so rich and moisturizing for me.
Im a 15 yd female and I want to know when is the time to get a full skincare routine including like exfoliator serum oil based cleansor etc because so far I only use a cleanser and a light lotion year round and my mom says I'm too young to have a full on skincare routine so I really want to when is the right time to get one.
Can you do a video on how to balance oil or some helpful tips???
Can you please review Earth to Skin , its a new affordable skin care brand at Walmart
Your videos have been so informative and helpful for me! You can count me as a loyal subscriber now! I would really love to see a review of Fourth Ray Beauty (ColourPop's skin care line) because it's SUPER affordable and I wanna know if it's actually good quality skincare!
Would you reccomend Benefits poreless product?
Thanks for the info. What is your take on bakuchiol as a retinoid alternative? Would it be just as effective for pores for those of us with sensitive skin?
People always forget about ingredients that help balance oil production like oils high in linoleic acid such as grape seed oil or hemp seed oil that way the sebum is less thick and pore clogging and the sebum becomes thinner and more fluid to where sebum won’t clog pores as often
Can you talk about your favorite retinol or retinoid products?
Morgan Miller
I just got the Drunk elephant retinol like 3 weeks ago!
@@mlayne130 ooo awesome! I'm glad you're having great results. Good to know!!
REVIEW DR. Pimple poppers routine PLEASE!!!!
