I hope you had a good Memorial Day Matt.
I had two uncles that fought in World War 2. One was the leader of a B17 squadron who was shot down and never made it home. The other I've known most of my life and loved dearly till he passed.
My Father pass away last year. But during the Vietnam war he was in the Army Reserves. The night before he was about to ship out Martin Luther King was assassinated. They held his troop back just in case there were riots and he never did see combat. I'm thankful for that.
I enjoyed the video. The station wagon was pretty cool.

My grandfather on my dad’s side was in the Navy stationed at Attu Island during the Korean War. His sister was stationed at K-51 or Osan AB during the same war. A place i was stationed in 1998-1999 and have returned to many times since. My father was in the Naval Reserves during Vietnam. On my mom’s side, my Opa was in the Dutch Navy during WW2 (yes, they had one). His stories could make movies. My uncle was Army and stationed in Germany just after the Vietnam war. And of course, I am the odd ball Air Force and still working on the same aircraft as I did active duty. This October will put me at 29 years on the same aircraft. Sadly, the Air Force will be shutting down this program Sept 30 of 2026.
I have had friends come and go during my Military time and Civil Service time. Some are still around, some are not. Some fall under the 22 a day. I use this day to honor them all. It is truly a family that will always be in my heart.
