@@AnyoneCanSeeI’ve never seen those! Thank you; I will look forward to checking them out! Boorman reminds me a bit of director Guillermo del Toro with gothic, dream-like films, like Pan’s Labyrinth.
@@firenze5555 - I agree. I'd definitely recommend "The Emerald Forest." It is about an Amazonian tribe but it has the qualities we both admire. Pan's Labyrinth is one of my favourite movies. "The Tailor of Panama" is an adaptation of a novel and more grounded.
Star Wars Episode I may have had its flaws, but if anyone other than Niam played as Qui-Gon, I would have no respect for either the character or actor. Qui-Gon proved to be the worst Jedi Master ever, but Liam Nelson managed to make the character respectable and serious while the movie set and plot was falling down all around them.
He's always fantastic. The first time I saw him was in Excalibur which is a superb movie.
Yes! John Boorman directing. Very gothic. Boorman also directed "Deliverance."
@@firenze5555 - Yes, I love Boorman. "The Emerald Forest" is a really unique movie. "The Tailor of Panama" is another high point.

Childhood favorites of his work: Krull, Excalibur, and High Spirits (perhaps his first comedic role)!
As a star wars enjoyer, I honestly didn't make the connection until I was much older
