If your personality is just right and actually someone that is endearing, it's a good choice. We all know he's not a character actor, but he is exactly what is needed in the roles he takes. He's basically our generation's Nicholas Cage.

This is SUCH A GOOD SCENE. It's 150 seconds of establishing Wade Wilson. He was able to get into this guy's apartment without him knowing. He found this kid, and succeeded in getting him where he needed him to be. He very casually twiddles a knife around. He uses extreme violence of action to intimidate the kid. Everything about his apparent skillset screams "former operator on a budget." But you've got him cracking jokes, being a douche, and generally waving that Reynolds-esque personality all over the place. It goes such a long way to showing you who the pre-Deadpool, pre-girlfriend Wade is.
The scene in the bar afterward, where he sends the money back to the girl who hired him establishes even more character. It shows that Wade Wilson is an unhinged former operator that has a moral compass that somehow still points in the right direction despite his psychotic tendancies.
I find it funny that Wade is WAY harsher on the guy whose house he broke into, compared to the guy he actually came for. The pizza guy gets a fist-bump and a kiss on the cheek. Talk about getting off easy.
I love how extra Wade is. He probably could have found Jeremy's house and threatened him there. But he took the time to break into Mr. Merchant's house, order a pizza, stink up the bathroom, and wait for Jeremy to show up.

This scene is so intimidating on so many levels. One thing that is there-in a subtle but very scary way-is that Wade let the pizza guy know how easy it is to find him, bait him, and get him into a non-public area. The guy knows he can be gotten to whenever and where ever an assassin would want. I would quit my job, move to a cabin in the middle of nowhere.
Honestly? i think the constant switching in mood really made this far more effective of a scare than straight threats would have done. It kept him from adjusting to the situation he was stuck in, kept him on edge, and probably made it all sink in better, with a minimum of pain required.
The fact that no one is appreciating the awkward silence after "then who's kitty litter did I just sh!t in?" is criminal. Easily one of the best little moments in the movie

The movies doesn't show his hyper-aggressive side really, but in the comics he does some insanely dark shit due to the mania and violent rage. There was a scene cut from the original movie where he visits one of the "miracle cure" places in south america for his cancer and he brutally murders everyone there when they can't cure him. It was cut because while it fits Deadpool really well, it didn't fit the tone of the movie.

It is rare and wonderful when an actor matches a character as well as this. The entire MCU did a great job with casting as well. especially with stark , thor and captain america. But Reynolds fits deadpool as well as deadpool's suit fits deadpool. Perfectly. Now we need deadpool in the first R rated DisneyMCU/Sony pictures super hero movie ever. Deadpool and the avengers would be too much fun. So it will likely never happen

Here, he asks the same thing, and even though Jeremy responds, "God, I hope not," Wade never actually specified if that was a bad thing or a good thing. Little details like that just make movies like this great.
