Beautiful shrimp tank MD! I like to see the buce + moss combo in the shrimp tanks they look awesome and work great for Caridina. Thanks for mentioning btw, good to hear I'm a 'nice guy' from your perspective😂. That microbe bag is very popular among Asian breeders, they call it Lubao bag. It's slow release beneficial bacteria inside that feed your shrimp and bacteria in the tank. Very beneficial for the shrimp, but keep an eye on the ammonia level as it also gradually releases a little bit of ammonia over time that is absolutely safe in the established tank but can be a bit toxic for the shrimp in the new tank, but I think for this tank size you should be fine. Good luck with them and I hope to see 100's of those shrimp in that tank in your future videos!
Buffer means it stabilizes the water chemistry so additional acid input or reduction doesn't change the pH. So, if soil is reducing the pH it's not buffering.
My granddaughter says the shrimp look like they are knitting! When they swim across the tank I think they look like they are riding a bike 😂. We love them

I love watching shrimp ... they are always busy. I have blue dreams in a shrimp only tank but your caridina shrimp are beautiful ! The plants you chose are perfect.

Beautiful tank! Just used buce for the first time in a 12g long bookshelf tank. Mixed it in with a bunch of Anubias Nana Petite. Awesome plant!

Love the shrkmp and about 80% of the build. Yhinking that the moss should've been put on something thinner like slate. It looks a bit odd sitting high on the rock like that. (I would've also tucked the plastic tubes to just poke out behind the wood)
I wonder how long the Akadama soil will last till it exhausts it's acidic properties. They also tend to break down overtime as well so that'll be interesting

Yes, bonsai become very valuable to the owner/artist and the soil quality is, obviously, a big consideration. Akadama soil is created for excellent water retention, airflow to the roots, and drainage.
Green Neon tank. I'd like to see something I have never seen you keep. In that tank, besides whatever fish your thinking of, put it a group of 3 to 4 Kuhli Loaches.

One day soon I will make a smutty inuendo supercut of some of MD's finest. Today's has given me "ooh, it stands up" and "look at that little hole back there" and "I've just stuck my fingers together like 4 times"....."wasn't too bad in the end, came roughly when i was expecting it"...."there we go, all done, took longer than it probably looked"..... "and then I can just push it in, if I can get under there and push it a bit harder"......"what you've just seen me put in there is a small fortune".... "I can do it one handed".....

Hey MD, this is a cool video so far. I’d love to see you tackle a some more saltwater on the channel. I’d also love to see you tackle a tank that has a smaller footprint but with more space vertically, seems like it’d have some interesting scaping/species opportunities.

I have all those Buces in my big tank, cost more than all the rest of my plants put together. Nearly £10 a plant. Probably £200-300 of buce in that one tank, right?
How do you always have nice clean black background. It took me 5h to let it stick to the back i had to go buy the glue because water and soap wasn't working now still with glue its getting loose at the top 😂 I gave up

Yes ! I started out with 10 red shrimp- I bred about 100 with out lowering ph or anything- I just let them be and over time you’ll see -
well, he got lucky that his tap water + the akadama soil combination produces a good enough parameter for crystal reds. It might be another story if he's getting fancy BOAs but I think it should be fine for crystal reds as long as the parameters are fine

The only fish my green neons would come out of hiding with was Embers. They'd look awesome in that slight blackwater.
I adore tetras, especially embers.
They're my favorite! My greens got ick and died, but i still have 12 of my what started as 8 Embers.
The hardscape looks a bit like a lobster
Sometimes artificial decor can actually look nice. I've got a blue Police Box in my blue dream shrimp tank surrounded by hardscape and plants. It's not an official Doctor Who merchandise item but a police box from a pet store made for aquariums. But the shrimp are all over it.

As for Crystals - i like them being S/S+ grade, not higher. Because they are pretty when they have nice strips of white and red in balance. I dont understand why all-white red crystals are considered higher grade.

18:01 It looks really nice! I love Bucephalandras as well. My favorites is called brownie blue, red cherry, and skeleton king. Brownie blue and black cherry has a lot smaller leafs.

If you have access to mulberry leaves shrimp love them, you want them actually green, let a leaf sit in water for a day or two until it gets fuzzy, and your shrimp will go absolutely crazy for it
