Capital Markets and Investments

This course introduces students to the fundamentals of capital markets and investments, focusing on essential tools and concepts for evaluating financial decisions and valuing investments. Utilizing a mix of engaging lectures, games, class discussions, and team-based activities, students explore various topics including: stocks and bonds, capital for startup through Initial Public Offering (IPO), corporate finance, and valuation. Students will learn key financial metrics such as Price to Earnings Ratio (P/E), Net Present Value (NPV), International Rate of Return (IRR), Weighted Average Cost of Capital (WACC), and Discounted Cash Flow (DCF). The course concludes with teams of students building and presenting a company financial model.
