Adam: "If you've ever seen "Parenthood..." Me, one of the child actors in Parenthood: "I may have heard of it." Not even joking. My name is Zach LaVoy, I played Steve Martin's youngest son in that movie. We shot down in Orlando at Universal Studios and the surrounding areas. Now I actually live outside of Orlando.
@@TheDailyWoo Honest to god! When you said "Parenthood" my ears perked up. I've been watching your content for a while now, ever since I moved to Florida. Hoping to bump into you at the parks one of these days!
Adam loved every minute of this adventure seeing what used to be some of your old stomping grounds that have since been removed and by the sound of your voice it sounded like you really missed a lot of them places and it brought back memories I have of places that no longer exist here in Torrance California and sometimes I even cry and wish things were still the same as they were back in the day just like the place you did a vlog at not to far from my house and I spent many fun times there and I’m talking about the fun factory on the Redondo Beach Pier which by the way shutdown in 2019 so Adam I totally get where you coming from and yes you did a great job of explaining abut these long forgotten places that you still bring to life so thanks Adam I really enjoyed myself especially having you as my guide and with that I’ll see you on the next vlog adventure also please be safe out there
It’s vlogs like this that make me such a huge fan of your work Adam. Nobody does a better job taking us to places and telling us things that are incredibly interesting to see and learn about. It takes quite a bit of talent to put together presentations like this and I continue to be grateful for all your hard work bringing them to us.
You're pulling on my heart strings every time you show where Wet 'N Wild used to be. I miss that place so much. I grew up going there every time I came here on vacation as a kid, Which was every year, before I lived here. I get sad whenever I drive by it. That was my favorite, and my first waterpark. For those of you that don't know, Orlando's Wet 'N Wild was the world's very first modern water park, built in 1977. Some might argue about Disney's River Country, but it wasn't the same type of park back in those days. I never did get to experience River Country either, which also makes me sad.
So private property. Mall obviously closed. There were barriers on the roads in as well as cones. How hard is it to work out....or do you need a personal phone call. Don’t people in that country think?
Siân weaver me and my wife had a huge cook it yourself steak at the Macado on our first visit way back in 93. Been back twice 2012 and 2017 and often wondered what happened to it. Very sad to see i drive so deserted.
Before Artegon it was called Festival Bay! The fountains out front were massive - many great memories there. Still miss seeing Wet n' Wild on the corner there... the only constant is change my friend. Thanks for the trip down memory lane !
That’s one of those Florida logic guys 😆. I asked the greeter one time back in the day in north FL at a grocery all in one store where the CD section was, since I’m not from there, and the guy legit said he did not know 😆.
So private property. Mall obviously closed. There were barriers on the roads in as well as cones. How hard is it to work out....or do you need a personal phone call. Don’t people in that country think?
I was just reading about Disney closing the Mask Loophole, people were walking around without masks using the carrying of food and drink as the excuse. Now they have to be stationary while eating and drinking. Disney is determined to stay open, other resorts may not be able to.
Love these journeys with you, Adam. I don't know about anyone else, but there's something eerie and depressing about seeing all these old place now closed, I lived in Kissimmee and Orlando when I worked at WDW 1986-1990 and International Drive was a buzz of activity back in those days.
Distinctly remember the wizard from my two trips to WDW and sight-seeing the surrounding area, hate to see he is gone. Loved the video, maybe the folks giving you so much crap about being at WDW will give you a break on this one as you can't get any more socially distant than what you were in this :)
I wouldn’t have known those orange cones mean “Do not enter” I thought they meant “Caution” Learn something new everyday. OR MAYBE A SIGN IS NEEDED TO CLARIFY! 🤓
That's a new one on me too. A sign saying NO TRESPASSING or KEEP OUT would have done a better job of communicating their desire to not have people on the property . For example, look how well the sign at 9:54 worked.
It's crazy what that mall looks like now. I went to see a movie there in 2001 before the mall was even built. There was nothing but the theater, Bass Pro Shop, and Ron Jon surf shop. I was there once after the mall opened, and there wasn't much other than the anchors.
I used to work at the FAO Schwarz that was at Point Orlando, you mentioned that song, and now it is all I can hear. Can you imagine listening to that song for 8+ hours a day. "Welcome to our world, welcome to our world, welcome to our world of toys" Thanks Adam... haven't thought of that song for about a decade and now I will be singing it for days!
Really enjoyed the sightseeing tour. It’s a beautiful area . It’s too bad that too many places end up being taken away. Thank you for the touring adventure. God bless you
I visited that McDonald’s on my senior class trip back in 1980. I’ve been going to international drive now for 40 years!!! It has changed sooooooo much. Mostly for the better. Today we stay at the Marriott grande vista on international drive near sea world every time we go to Disney. Best value, resort style vacationing in Orlando. Been going there almost 20 years. Miss it dearly!
Pretty cool video. Brought back memories of being in Orlando in late 80’s and early 90’s. Loved the Mystery Fun House. I remember the Old Belz Outlets down at the end of I-Drive. It is amazing how built up some areas got but now things have closed.
Your Garfield shirt reminded me of my older brother. He would buy those Garfield comic books that were numbered back in the 80's. Those were fun to read.....
Mike Kelly I went in February in 2015 and the Magic Kingdom was horrible worst than in August all you could see was people everywhere. I also miss Wet n Wild that is now a Universal hotel. Going back next year in October (hopefully) see what changes there is then
Mike Kelly There was a Damon’s by the old Liverpool airport but it closed a few years ago. We are going for HHN so will have to fight the crowds and we don’t mind waiting in line it’s part of the course
I've been there on holiday back in '95 and '96. It surely changed alot. We used to go to Front Row and to the Mercado shopping centre. I still hold good memories to the place.

That mall was called Festival Mall when it opened. I remembered they did a great job of getting large anchor stores, but that mall was so huge they had trouble getting smaller national chain stores to open up there. There was a lot of vacant space when dad mall opened and it seemed empty outside of the anchor stores. Might have something to do with less traffic passing through the north side of Idrive compared to the southside.
I’ll never forget meeting you at the Artegon a few years ago on my honeymoon with my wife. You were such a nice guy and still have my stickers! Haven’t found anything special enough to use them on. Even have a button or two!

Cool video I always enjoy seeing how everything is progressing. The part where the guy tried to feel like a big man with his cone was great. I would as many just figured that was no automotive traffic. He doesn't have a full minute to make a sign to put on the cone haha.

"Sorry folks, park's closed. The cones out front should've told you."
The fact it’s a private building, obviously not open and has barriers including cones and other barriers. Who couldn’t work that out.
If an establishment doesn't want anyone on the property, there should be signs posted and maybe cones set up blocking the walking path.
