    Ciongrats. You guys must have been in Northern IA, I have taken my friend's boys on a couple hunts the past few weeks in East-Central IA and the temps and weather conditions have been terrible for hunting-way too warm, and haven't seen any snow yet.

      This hunt was actually from the 2020 muzzleloader season! But we were hunting in west central Iowa, about 45 miles west of Des Moines.

    250 yards? I'd be curious to know your setup and where you zero your scope. I use 100 grain of blackhorn and zero at 100. I see around a 5-6 inch drop at 150 yards and at 200 yards I see an additional 12" drop. So, from 100 yards to 200 yards my bullet drops approximately 18 ". I'm shooting a 250 grain Barnes or Hornady. Both are very similar in ballistics from what I've seen. Anyway, I'd love to hear feedback. That was a PERFECT shot, and a STUD buck! Congratulations!

    What powder and bullet combo do you use? I've had bad luck with my muzzle loader. I was using the 250 grain hornady with red ballistic tip and 3 pellets. I've removed them from deer I've shot. The tungsten bullets do not mushroom at all.

      @Whitetail_Properties  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Garret is shooting a McWhorters custom muzzleloader. The bullets and the powder are built and measured specifically for the gun and vary slightly for each gun they build.

    Is a .270, .243, or 30-30 legal to use next week in Iowa on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th? Thanks in advance.

    Are you hunting from a Banks blind? If so, do you find moisture being an issue with it in the cold? I just purchased one but people are remarking about a moisture problem gathering in them.

    • @Whitetail_Properties
      @Whitetail_Properties  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We are in a banks blind. That particular one is a few years old. The newest model has really improved the seals keeping moisture out. However, if its 20 degrees out and you have 1-3 people in a blind putting off body heat, some moisture is almost inevitable.. There are products people use to help keep the moisture off the windows, what we find to work the best is a window open or cracked and a small buddy heater to knock off the edge and keeps the windows from fogging.

      The seller determines the listing price of a property, not our agents. We just represent them and try and bring buyers to them.

    Sorry, but killing deer with a firearm simply does nothing for me.
    Not a very skillful accomplishment

    • @Whitetail_Properties

      Well we respect your opinion, but we think harvesting a mature buck with any legal method is a great accomplishment! Or really, harvesting any animal with a legal method should be considered an accomplishment!

      @@seanfahrendorf7424 I misspoke, “gun hunting.” Shoot a doe or two with a gun for the freezer. I just can’t imagine how it is rewarding or even feels like hunting when you’re in a luxury blind shooting bucks a couple hundred yards away.

      Mav,,,thinking the same thing.Allowing rifles just hurts the management plan for the state.It will take its toll in the near future.These states that dont allow gun hunting in the rut is why they have BIG deer.Then they started allowing rifles,I dont understand the plan.
