At 71 years young my masking & painting abilities leave something to be desired, you give me someone to aspire to become! Keep the videos coming, wouldn't miss one!!!
Hey what's up Chris, nice paint job and a nice pick of a truck, I also did one and I do enjoy the whole SCX10 series I feel pound for pound it is a all around good pick for a truck with all kinds of things that you can do and may up grades out there now.. Always great to see what's going on over there brother.Take care and keep schooling me man, i love to be challenged and put to the test, and thank you for all you do for the hobby..Wil
Show off!!!....Just kidding!!!...OUTSTANDING JOB!!!...I'm actually jealous of your patience and your attention to detail. I usually slap some stickers on and I'm flying or driving. I'll have to up my game after watching this...Thanks for sharing.
Your videos are so sweet, paint like a master yoga you do. Love this set up may have to copy the idea for my very first crawlerl, you gave me great tips on my last two, lol cut lines aren't the greatest but my slashes never looked better,.
Looks fantastic! One question - when you paint bodies on the outside, do you ever have issues with the paint scratching or chipping when the vehicle rolls over or hits something? I'm planning to paint a body on the outside, and I'd like to know if there are any precautions I should take.
Just saw this today although it not recommended it will work. However when it scrathes it might dig down tocthe old paint or whatever lexan color its made from.
hello. as i can see, u just put a new layers onto original one, right? so i just buy a colour i want and just spray it? no matt the surfece before? cheers!
Does that have some kind of clear coat over it? I have some badly painted second hand bodies and was hoping this would show how to remove paint without fogging up the clear
Thank you very much for showing such a great breakdown on how to paint an awesome scheme like this. Im curious though on two things. 1. Do you have to go light color to darker color on the pattern colors and 2. that last paint detail you did, was that clear coat? if so how many coats did you do? Thanks
I have a couple questions on how to do this right. Christmas is coming up and I have to buy a present for one of my little cousins. Hes a huge Chase Elliot fan so I wanna customer paint a car for him. Does it matter was kind of spray paint I use? Or do you recommend a certain brand? Will the spray paint chip and get scratched off if he plays with it? Last question, if it's an already colored car does it make a huge difference? Sorry for the long post but I really wanna do this for him and want to do it right.
Hi! I want to paint my RTR TRX-4 Defender, but I don't want to buy a new body, at least not yet, so it will be reliable to paint over the prepainted body? What do you recommend me? Thanks!
+zHyper well for lean bodies we use polycarbonate type paint. maybe if your application is pvc, maybe try plastic type instead of polycarbonate. but if I were u I would try polycarbonate type paint first
Correct me if I'm wrong, for the camo part I think there are 5 colors, right? -the base gray -white -aluminum silver -gun metal -black Which white and which black? cause there are so many options
Great looking Rig Buddy, just bought a Land Rover hard body my self, ill deffo try something like that aswell :) any tips about what paint I have to use ? Best Jannick / Denmark
Hello Jannick, start with a good Tamiya plastic primer, and use regular automotive paint afterwards. It is the cheapest and most efficient way to do it.
Hey, I'm looking for an entry-level Short Course and was hoping you could help me out. I currently have the HPI Blitz, the HPI Jumpshot SC and the Team Associated SC10 as options. Which one should I get?
awesome dude! youre a real interesting and inspirational person. i gotta ask what kind of career do you have? its gotta be an artistic one! love watching your vids.
Straight into the action, no blah-blah-blah - Showed all the important stuff without padding. Great video! But as mentioned in other comments, I did miss the Champagne Anodized Aluminum (or did you spray that as an undercoat to make scratches look more authentic?) ;-)
Very cool video Chris👊 Stellar execution!! I'm curious... how well does the paint hold up ? well I guess we'll find out soon enough after some running video🍻
Fantastic job man! I really like your videos. But I have to ask, do you live in Norway? In this video there's a Norwegian milk carton in the backgorund :P
At 71 years young my masking & painting abilities leave something to be desired, you give me someone to aspire to become! Keep the videos coming, wouldn't miss one!!!
Raise your hand if you feel entirely inadequate after watching Chris show you the magic trick, and you realize you still can't do it.
mine's up.
Me too ...
Haha, thanks man! Practice and patience are all that's needed.
Lol
Nope! Not at all!
Amazing, what a difference a little paint makes! Best looking RTR ever, nice work dude!
The thing with Chris is that not only is he a master with the hands, he also has damn good ideas about patterns, colours and design!
Brilliant. It looks so simple when you do it. You're PRO 👍.
I learn something new from you each time I watch one of your how 2 videos. Thanks
The body came out awesome. Definitely gonna be doing a little painting on my next one. thanks for sharing. thumbs up 👍👍
I hope you will have fun painting!
Awesome that totally transformed it from looking dull and boring to as you said in a previous video something personal and made it look good 👍
Not that much work, and I'm happy to see you can appreciate the result.
You make it look so easy I feel stupid. LOL. AWESOMENESS as usual.
I'm sure you will be able to pull off something great, Rod!
That is awesome, it looks so much better now. Awesome work as always!!!
I'm happy it stands out in the crowd!

Hi Wil, as always thank you for the kind words. I think Axial again set the bar a bit higher, tis thing is top notch in every aspect.
Show off!!!....Just kidding!!!...OUTSTANDING JOB!!!...I'm actually jealous of your patience and your attention to detail. I usually slap some stickers on and I'm flying or driving. I'll have to up my game after watching this...Thanks for sharing.
I hope you will be able to surprise yourself with the result, Muhammed!

Damn! Good idea to also cover the windows at the inside. I would definitely have forgotten that!! Great watching your videos again! Keep it up!
Better to think twice before starting! ;)
Insane job! Congratulations brotha, well done!
Excellent work on sprucing up the RTR, but just one question. Is it truly a Hemistorm paint job without the use of Champagne Anodized Aluminum?
Hahaha, that made me laugh! Thanks man!
That's NICE! Good job showing how to NOT throw away your RTR body!
Murph
Cheers Murph!
Great job Chris! It always looks so easy when you're creating things. Thumbs up! 👍
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it, I hope you will give it a try. It's fun!
Yep, will definitely give it a try.
Your videos are so sweet, paint like a master yoga you do. Love this set up may have to copy the idea for my very first crawlerl, you gave me great tips on my last two, lol cut lines aren't the greatest but my slashes never looked better,.
That is great to read! I hope you are having fun, and with the cuts, they will improve over time. I have a lot of practice!
Hand raised! Just incredible!
Give it a try, it's not that hard, I promise.

my latest body is pretty less. vid should be up by tomorrow. thanks for giving me the confidence on doing lettering.
you do some of the most awesome work. great job man
Thank you for the kind words, I appreciate it!
Very cool! Great edit.
Glad you noticed that!
3:48 is that a paint clear coat you're putting on there? Does that kinda lock in the paint or smooth out the surface a little? Just curious. Thanks.
Hi Steve, it does both actually. It is way easier to take pictures of a truck with a dull finish as well.
Wow! I am impressed. That looks so badass. Love it!
The base is awesome to work with, Axial did their homework.
Nice work mate! So simple too 👍😜
Well done Chris very impressive musta been like 4 hours of work in 4:49 seconds .. :O Have a great time at Castle headquarters stay busy my friend .
Spot on! 4 hours indeed!

Do I need to primer lexan outer body shell first
Does that have some kind of clear coat over it? I have some badly painted second hand bodies and was hoping this would show how to remove paint without fogging up the clear
Yes, I used the PS55 flat clear from Tamiya. It works fantastic!
awesomely done dude! !!
Thank you!
Nicely done.
Thanks Scot!

Hi Tiffany. I used a silver, silver anodised aluminium, gun metal, white and black I believe.
Awesome work!!
Cheers Chris!
How durable is an outside body paint? From cracking etc? I really wanna do this to my rtr painted body
Bro. What lights are those in the roof?
dang my axial kit scx 10 II was a clear lexan body.
Then you have the kit, I did a painting video on that one as well. :)
I bought the hard body one and have stuff that is not on the directions, go figure, by any chance you do a painting video on that one?
I can try doing one later this year!
Was wondering , would spray paint that one would use on lexan body work on the hard plastic body? Or do I need to buy a different type?
I have a couple questions on how to do this right. Christmas is coming up and I have to buy a present for one of my little cousins. Hes a huge Chase Elliot fan so I wanna customer paint a car for him. Does it matter was kind of spray paint I use? Or do you recommend a certain brand? Sorry for the long post but I really wanna do this for him and want to do it right.
Nice work!

Where is the light bar from?
From Proline! :)
Hi! I want to paint my RTR TRX-4 Defender, but I don't want to buy a new body, at least not yet, so it will be reliable to paint over the prepainted body? What do you recommend me? Thanks!
Impressive!
Cheers Luke!
How did you get the stickers back on?
I didn't, masked them off or replaced them with paint. Thank you for watching!
bruh! that was rad.
Cheers bud!
Can i buy any spray paint and do that onto a PVC rtr body? Thanks
Ho there, with PVC do you mean an ABS hard body?
HemiStorm RC - Custom RC builds, painting videos and more Sorry not sure what that is, I mean just a rtr body that isn't lexan e.g. pvc. :)
+zHyper well for lean bodies we use polycarbonate type paint. maybe if your application is pvc, maybe try plastic type instead of polycarbonate. but if I were u I would try polycarbonate type paint first
how many coats of clear did you put on?
I just eyeball it until it looks flat enough. :)
how purchage it?
Link is in the description. :)
Great job !!
very nice wheel bro!
Thank you!
can you share the exact tamiya colors that you've used?
Let's see, black, white, silver anodized aluminum, gun metal, silver, bright silver and a flat clear to seal everything.
Correct me if I'm wrong, for the camo part I think there are 5 colors, right?
-the base gray
-white
-aluminum silver
-gun metal
-black
Which white and which black? cause there are so many options
So you just paint over the old paint?
Great looking Rig Buddy, just bought a Land Rover hard body my self, ill deffo try something like that aswell :) any tips about what paint I have to use ?

Fantastic!
Very cool video Chris👊 Stellar execution!! I'm curious... how well does the paint hold up ? well I guess we'll find out soon enough after some running video🍻
Very well, it kind of fuses with the lexan and forms a very strong surface. No worries on durability!
@@hemistormrc hiya buddy just a quick question. What type of paint should be used on an rc body?
New intro? Nice video btw. Thumbs up!
