Two of the most underrated artists ever, these women are ridiculously talented! The videos are all brilliantly done, and the songs are just beyond exquisite. This one is my favorite, helped me through an extremely painful period of my life.
Seven months to the day since I saw your face You're on the earth like a fire holding out to the bitter end You're holding on to the bitter end I take a walk in the town It's like a dead-end street The sidewalk sings your name underneath my feet Echoes of, forgotten love Baby where did you go? Did you sail away over some distant ocean? Darling what we had It cannot be taken It cannot be stolen And it won't be forgotten No, it won't be forgotten Summer disappears like a dream I had And winter comes with a knife that cuts you down And it never ends Ooh, it never ends I hurry past the place you like to drink alone Seven months to the day you left me here on this avenue And now I think of you Baby where did you go? Did you sail away over some distant ocean? Darling what we had It cannot be taken It cannot be broken And it won't be forgotten No, it won't be forgotten Seven months to the day and you don't leave a trace I searched the cracks in the ground, the tallest buildings They never knew, oh they never knew Baby where did you go? Did you sail away over some distant ocean? Darling what we had It cannot be taken It cannot be broken And it won't be forgotten Baby where did you go? Did you sail away over some distant ocean? Darling what we had It cannot be taken It cannot be stolen And it won't be forgotten No, it won't be forgotten
I saw The Pierces for the first time back in November 2006 when they opened for Albert Hammond Jr. They were magnificent. I had probably started listening to them a few months prior to that so was able to sing along to the songs they played. Absolutely fantastic live, go see them if you haven't. I was also lucky enough to meet Catherine after the show and got her autograph, she was so kind and sweet. Completely love these girls.
Blame the radio stations for the lack of tasteful music, as is the way with everything in life today commercialisation is the dominant factor, Lovely music like this gets limited air time instead we are asked to listen to incessant droning or screaming from so called artists the cannot even hold a note. I will support the first radio stations that gives air time to this type of great music.
If this was 1977, they would be accused of mimicking Stevie Nicks & Christine McVie. As it's not, this is a superb song/video with echoes of Fleetwood Mac at their best.
I love how you could pause any part of the video and just paint a renaissance masterpiece. I love their music so much, because you can actually hear the effort rather than the crap that spews out of the radio.
Beautiful ladies with perfect voices who write just wonderful songs, and yes i did cry when i first heard this, reminded me of a lost love. Its been 20 years since she went away and, NO "It will not be forgotten"
I for one am thanking Coldplay for showing me a nice song of The Pierces, "You'll be mine". I AM here because of Coldplay because no other band and no other music tv channel would promote these two beautiful and talented singers.
This song is so nostalgic and beautiful, it makes me feel sad and motivated at the same time :"( Sounds like a 2011-2015 underground epic song, i'm so proud that i know this song...
"I searched the cracks in the ground, the tallest buildings they never knew." Surely the best lyric that's ever been?! She jumped off the building… such was her sadness at losing him.
A TV series such as Gossip Girl did not bring me here, which many are buzzing about. But rather my friend introduced me to them, but my good taste in music was the reason I ended up listening to them and love them. ;)
i live in manchester my postman this morning told me he went to see the pierces at the academy last night ...i said to him ...the pierces ? never heard of them ..he said google them have a listen to them next time i see him he wants to know what i thought ....so here goes ive got a lot to listen to ...so far i like them
Seen The Oierces Live twice in 2011 absolutely fabulous, these two females are real "Ladies" in every way, good luck for your future Allison and Catherine.
3 months ago i heard "the pierces" and had to stop the car as glorious came on radio 2. So glad they have had more airplay and that true talent will always rise above the ordinary
Esta cancion la tengo en mi lista de TH-cam hace mas 10 año y me encanta, siempre mantiene concentrado y me trae muchos recuerdos del pasado buenos y malos pero siempre con gran aprendizaje. viviendo cada dia al maximo.
Absolutely Fabulous seen the Sister's in Edinburgh at the beginning of their UK Tour, downloaded all their old stuff and I cannot get enough of Alison and Catherine, musically they are a revelation, what Beautiful Harmonies what Beautiful Women, I am "Hooked".
If I ever write a screen play for a movie with a plot at the center of which is a lost love too strong and tenacious to remain lost. I shall have to require that the director makes this a reoccurring theme tune throughout.
I love their music, love their clothes and their unique style. I saw them live a couple of weeks ago and they were brilliant. Hope to see them again :) This is my favourite song of theirs.
When I first heard the song I though what an amazing song Alison wrote, however, they needed both of their voices to make it work. I always wondered whether they would make a video for this song, it was such a beautiful video, I love their lyrics, their style of clothing, everything.
These girls represent everything about our home state motto - "Alabama the Beautiful". Every time I listen to them it makes me proud to be an Alabama lady!
My 27 year old son heard them and absolutely loved their music, saying that he'd like to hear their album - I relate their music and presence to the sounds of the 70's and Fleetwood Mac but with a modern twist - you need to close you eyes and 'Listen' to them to appreciate the sound - Not the videos.......
Two of the most underrated artists ever, these women are ridiculously talented! The videos are all brilliantly done, and the songs are just beyond exquisite. This one is my favorite, helped me through an extremely painful period of my life.
True
ikr?? kings is my fav
I Agree, Their Music Is Calming And Just Amazing To Listen To :)
Did you have hemorrhoids?
Me Too...❣️
There's such a dream-like, occult quality to the sisters' music. Timeless and evocative.

"Winter comes with a knife that cuts you down and it never ends." For those of us with SAD, this is very relevant.

This song makes me feel really pure and peaceful. Just for that feeling I can listen to this every second of my life.
So True...(!)
I love how they dress in their videos.. beautiful. Very Stevie Nicks. Great voices
Yesss I think this might be why I love them so much! I love Stevie too! 💕

More people should be listening to these two women! Loved them for agesssss!
+Kayley Hughes i agree , even cybernetic organism like me enjoy their songs
Too good for the age they found themselves in ,sad.
Why aren't they more famous? Can we go back to the 60s please? We need more singers like these girls. Bring back meaningful music
11 years ago?? I have never seen this lovely video and never heard this song. I thought it was something new and long-awaited. Lovely, lovely!
Thy should be having more success, Two fantastic talented beautiful women There songs are amazing
With a hint of Fleetwood mac Love all there songs
+john michael Knight when I first heard this song on the radio I thought it was stevie nicks
Beautiful! These girls deserve success.

Какая прекрасная история, пусть вам всё же повезёт в любви!

this song will not be forgotten
Enchanting, mesmerizing, soul-piercing and haunting.
Definately my favorite song ever. Still asking myself why they didn't got as famous as they diserve it :(
cuz they didn't sell the souls to "the devil" 😁
Beautiful ladies with perfect voices who write just wonderful songs, and yes i did cry when i first heard this, reminded me of a lost love. Its been 20 years since she went away and, NO "It will not be forgotten"
Such an underrated song, this is something Fleetwood Mac could've written in the 70s and made it a mega hit.
I love her headpiece. This is my fave song right now
Thirteen Tales of Love and Revenge by the Pierces is one of the best albums of all time.
this is so epic. marked my life. and have so few views... maybe this make the song worth more.
I see Indie and Folk dominating the charts on a mass scale in the near future.
I wish
I love Allison's voice. Catherine has a different and strong voice. But Allison's voice just melts my heart.
Thanks for posting this. Had forgotten their name and have been for ages trying to find them. Finally. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I wish my mom was alive today to hear these beautiful words from 2 beautiful woman....amazing...xxx
I for one am thanking Coldplay for showing me a nice song of The Pierces, "You'll be mine". I AM here because of Coldplay because no other band and no other music tv channel would promote these two beautiful and talented singers.
Absolutely right, I know them because of Coldplay too and it was such a great recommendation!
@@luzpueblalara4128 I can't even remeber writing this but I remember the song 😆

i live in manchester my postman this morning told me he went to see the pierces at the academy last night ...i said to him ...the pierces ? never heard of them ..he said google them have a listen to them next time i see him he wants to know what i thought ....so here goes ive got a lot to listen to ...so far i like them

Seen The Oierces Live twice in 2011 absolutely fabulous, these two females are real "Ladies" in every way, good luck for your future Allison and Catherine.

Heard this on the radio in a taxi about an hour ago and just had to look it up. I love it.
Such amazing talent, so rare!
Totally professional musicians !!!
Pretty much my favorite song
If I ever write a screen play for a movie with a plot at the center of which is a lost love too strong and tenacious to remain lost. I shall have to require that the director makes this a reoccurring theme tune throughout.
والله ال MBC MAX خلتني اتعرف عليكن ...وكل ما بسمع هالفريق بتزكر فريق ABBA بياخدوني لعالم تاني
I love their music, love their clothes and their unique style.
I saw them live a couple of weeks ago and they were brilliant.
Hope to see them again :)

Quanta musica boa!!! The Pierces agora faz parte das minhas bandas favoritas !!!!
When I first heard the song I though what an amazing song Alison wrote, however, they needed both of their voices to make it work.
I always wondered whether they would make a video for this song, it was such a beautiful video, I love their lyrics, their style of clothing, everything.
I prefer hearing this group live over their studio recordings, they are awesome live..
Hauntingly beautiful.
Probably the best song i have heard in a long time i can't stop listening to it. My dad would love this we always liked the same music.
This band is my friend and I in the future but with dancing and movie-making.
