I love how yours and Jason’s channels deliver something similar to a double feature every once in a while. I love both yours and Jason’s approach to videography and photography respectively. Thanks for releasing gems like these.
The feeling of Jason and Caleb releasing +30 minute videos and watching them one after the other (order not specific) is like morning coffee followed by sitting on the toilet. two very satisfying experiences and ones that leave you with zero regret! But seriously great shots mate, the Ektar "Mistakes" have a edgy apocalyptic feel just like where other Caleb belongs (nearly missed the sneaky bugger in the reflection at the end). Just like with my crappy photography, if a photo doesn't match your initial vision...change your vision then you have a great image.
haha Oh damn, fam... I love both those things! I love being able to satisfy. The Ektar ones are definitely a vibe for sure. But you are right.... It's not part of a two image series called Apocalyptic Loneliness.... thanks for the inspiration
Really cool to see the same trip from another angle! Really cool editing you did on this one. I've just watched the whole thing in one shot and it didn't feel like 40 minutes at all! Keep up the sweet content man, it's a really nice format to relax at the end of the week! 😀
Your videos are really well shot, surprised you don't have a lot more subscribers. Also, large format seems incredibly romantic but insanely frustrating, definitely want to try it.
Just found your channel and got a kick out of it.I used to go to Bishop and the Sierra a few times a year stayed at the Elms a few times I still get out and shoot and I'm 47 years older than you guys once photography gets in your blood it never goes away. It's fun to see a new generation find film It's almost magical to develop and print your own images, keep up the good work I subbed
Oh yeah that’s so awesome, thanks so much!!!!! It’s such a great place to get out and shoot and we love it so much. I definitely need to do more darkroom printing. It’s been a while lol Thanks for enjoying the channel :)
Merci d'avoir partagé avec nous ce magnifique road-trip ! C'était fascinant, drôle, intéressant, très bien filmé et monté. Et le français que je suis est toujours émerveillé par l'immensité et les paysages des Etats-unis. Bravo !
Here I was, minding my own business, looking for new channels to watch and BOOM! this crazy man's shadow crosses my path! I'd never heard of him before....but he seemed rather not dangerous so I watched.... and was impressed with the video, the music in the background was KILLER and it was fun seeing him catch images. That said I will STILL subscribe and see what happens. Yup, this was a fun find.
Ahhh this makes me so happy!!! I’m glad you were intrigued enough to say around and subscribe!!! I definitely appreciate it mate! 🥰 so glad your here 🤩

That abandoned truck cab on Tmax, chef’s kiss! I live in the Midwest and spend hours trying to find old abandoned trucks/farmsteads for that exact type of composition
Cool adventure and "you be you" with tilt swing but you may want to look into the front of the lens with the shutter open before you load your holder. If you can’t see each corner of the ground glass, the image circle is not large enough.
Wow, the camera you have. Want. I love rainy days with a camera. Shot large format once in my life and it's intimidating for sure. Random comment, I have stepped back from shooting film the past couple weeks because two rolls have been lost in the mail. Down bad. Abandoned and squeeky, its part of the journey of every horror movie, lol. I think I need a denim jacket now. Sweet, Sweet cable release. Wow, those colors! and that image. Sexy. What do you shoot your footage on? Usually I assume phone but some of this is insanely good. Love the whole area, need to get to the Sierra's. I also love the tilt look as well! That velvia, sure is nice! The slow mo shots are hilarious lol JONES BBQ AND FOOT MESSAGE! LOL Okay, time to stop live comment and just enjoy. SO far, the images are great and love the locations youve been to in this video! Have a good one dude!
Ummmm.... yeah you need a denim jacket .... everyone should have a good one! This time we shot all the video on our Sony Mirroless cameras... trying to step up the game.... you are right though a lot of the other videos are on our phones. You def need to come the the Sierra... they are so beautiful. haha I'm so glad you like the slo mo shots, they were fun to do! Thanks dude, im glad you enjoyed the video ... means a lot ☺️
Since you went by Keeler, you might want to drive up to Cerro Gordo, the ghost mining town next time. A guy, Brent, bought it and lives up there mostly alone and is restoring it. He also has a very interesting TH-cam channel called "Ghost Town Living", try contacting him if you'd like. He might also be able to give you a contact for Darwin, since he knows the people there. Lots of photos to be made there and I believe he'll like giving you a tour of the place. This could be an interesting Collab!
Those color images were awesome! Wait, those B&W images were awesome! You got great stuff all around! What on earth did you do to get that tufa like that. The zone of sharp focus looked like it was following a pretzel path! And the chair on the green floor covering with the blue sky...the color was the better overall image, but the B&W was wild. Parts of it were higher contrast and parts were lower contrast at the same time! The tree right behind the chair, its branches popped, but the exposed wood of the floor had little difference to the green, and the back wall of the porch with the triangle of light, it too seemed to have both higher and lower contrast compared to the color version. Intriguing. This is a tremendous video.
Oh wow. Thanks so much!!! Such kind words. Mostly I would say all dumb luck lol I really like playing around with the front standard to try something different than usual. I appreciate all the love in the video. ☺️
Great video! We took a photo trip on that same route last summer to shoot 120 & 35mm! It's so awesome to see other photographers road tripping and letting the shot find you! I'm curious what viewfinder app you were using around the 20 minute mark
Oh that’s awesome. That’s cool you took the same route!!! The app is actually just called viewfinder. It’s on the apple App Store. Blue icon. Fingers … I like using it. 😆
At 0:45, spotted the Star Wars camera on the top right. Have you shot with it yet? I’m looking to shoot a video using the superimposed characters, seems pretty fun.
Watching both of your episodes one after the other and I truly admit I like your images more. To be honest, your compositions are much more thoughtful than with your medium format cameras.

Last time I was in Bishop, my sister and I got BBQ by the pound from Holy Smokes and fresh sourdough from Schat's and made brisket sandwiches in the park. It was pretty good. 😎
it was probably 1/3 the price of copper top and better too lol. I don't understand the hype with Copper Top BBQ or how it could possible be voted best in the USA. I can't remember the name of it now but there was another BBQ spot in bigpine that was better.
So that wide lens, the 90?, the shot that needed a grad - it doesn't take filters on the back of the lens? I thought that was pretty standard. Looks like a heck of a trip. Great stuff.
There might be filters for the back of the lens but I just didn’t have them with me. I bought the filters like two days before we left. Sooo didn’t have time. Plus with a grad it might’ve been a little difficult for the back of the lens. I think what I need is just a bigger step up ring for the holder
@@BadFlashes Ektar has the same slide towards the red with its oranges and yellows, but it's lacking something I can't explain... Because it has more exposure latitude, I guess it's sort of lacking those deep blacks and the punch slide film gives it. Still great in 35mm and Medium Format though!
