With that out of the way: If you've exhausted all of those options and the person/people are still a problem, you have to stand up for yourself. _How_ you do that will always depend on the current situation. I've come across my own share of assholes at work, and usually they will leave a person alone once they start getting some resistance from them. It's been rare for anything to get physical, so most of it is handled through words alone. I've never went out of my way to interact with them, but when I had to, I made it very clear that if it isn't work related then there's nothing to be said. Sometimes people just don't respond to kind gestures. That's when a firm tone comes into play. Don't have to be mean, just let it be known that you aren't someone to walk over or toy with.

@Onyxcats Right, but the primary perpetrators of these crimes, most violent crime, are men. To bring up women or say "not all men" sounds like you're trying to displace responsibility. The issue is largely to do with how men and boys are socialized to be entitled to women and to lash out when they don't get their way.
