He said himself that he's struggling for explosive power out of the blocks right now because of the injury he's still rebuilding from. That does not bode well for his chances in the 100m, despite the comparative disparity in quality of the competition in the 100m compared to the 200m. It's unfortunate but the deck is stacked against him this year, moreso than any other year he's competed imo.
@@nathanmitchell9695 true. But we can't right in off in the 100m. Because the others not performing well in the 100m .so the door is open if he can step up is game. And we knew andre de grasse he always step up is game when it come to world championships and Olympics.
I don't think Andre will be a factor.
I agree with all the comments on one side and the other. DeGrasse is like the old Shelly Ann Fraser Pryce, whereas he is often very slow early season, then, suddenly shows up at a championship. I do feel, however, he is losing his abilities. In the past, he was such a scary talent they gave him $13M to become a “Bolt Killer”, and tons thought he was doping. Now, no one notices him until he pulls a surprise. He’s definitely on the decline.
De Grasse will pull up on you right at the tape!
20.19 is nothing to be impressing with this close to the championships with podium guys in the mid 19.50
LFG!! 🔥🔥
Noah lyles the new goat 🐐 of the 200m.
Bro this video about Andre De Grasse you don’t need to meat ride Noah Lyles and bring him up in every damn comment section.
@@omgurheadsgone meat ride? I had to look that one up - thanks for the new vocab!
@@omgurheadsgonestop meat riding Bolt then
bolt is still the goat lol
Wow. How remarkable!?
...whats crazy about 20.2??
Is this a re upload
Nahhhhhhhhh!
Do a junior Olympic vid of like what jonothon simms just did in the 400 running a 45.12 In the tenth grade
Can you do a video like this for Ronal Longa? Tthe Colombian sprinter who is running greate time in sud america 🥺
LIES. THE 200M HASN'T BEEN MORE COMPETITIVE THAN THE 100M. AND ANDRE WONT BE ON THE PODIUM UNLESS THE TOP COMPETITORS FALSE START.
He's good, don't get me wrong, but I just don't think he'll be a threat at Worlds in the 200. I choose Lyles to win, and doubt De Grasse will podium. In fact, there is a good chance he will not make the finals imo.
Wow you seriously believe he won't even make the finals? I can get why you think he wont podium but he won't even make the finals?
@@alansamuel2454 It's based on his times, and the fact that he's recovering from a serious injury. I think only men who break 20 will make the final. There are 18 who have done so this year, and he's not one of them. He may surprise us and improve enough in 2 weeks to get into the finals, but I think it's reasonable to say there is a good chance he won't. No offense intended to you or TRP.
@@rayflaherty3441 Fair enough. Na there's no offense taken. You are entitled to your opinion and have something to back it up so I can respect that.
Next. This update is useless
I think you're giving him a little too much credit. I agree that he will run faster at the world championships than what he has run all season, but the top guys this year are just so damn fast. It kills me to say this, but I think Letsile Tebogo will win, with Noah Lyles in second and Erriyon Knighton in third. What I hope happens is for Erriyon to win, Noah for silver, and Kenny Bednarek for bronze. It would be nice if Tebogo does not get a medal, his cockiness in previous races shows a lack of respect.
Lol you really hate cockiness don't you? I don't blame you, kinda get it being a athelete myself but you really gotta admit the guy is peaking at nearly the perfect time. As long as his 19.5 wasnt the performance of the year like Knighton's 19.49, he has a very solid chance to podium.
Like you, I believe Tebogo is going to win the 200 metres at the World's. Especially if he is drawn inside Lyles in the final. I can see this man running sub 19.3 if conditions are favourable. I assume he is running the 100 too?.. If so watch out for him in this event also. He will never win any popularity/personality contests for sure though, but this confidence seems to convert into relaxation at speed.
@@neilmcguinness4422 Betting against a guy who has been undefeated since Tokyo, had the WL for 5+ seasons and is the 2 time world champion and the AR record holder over a prodigy who most likely ran the race of his life and still lost to Lyles' third best? I don't know man, you might have to reconsider that one dude.
@@Pumpxkin All you say is true. Noah Lyles has made a believer of me and just about everyone else since he first appeared on the International stage. I never thought I would bet against him over the 200, but the way that Tebogo closed in on Lyles over the final 10m when he ran his 19.50 really shocked me as Lyles was really going for it obviously.
I know betting against Noah Lyles is a dangerous thing. The man is capable of running 19.2; but I can see an upset here. The only thing that I can say for certain is that the Men's 200 at the World's promises to be a Battle Royale @Pumpxkin.
@@neilmcguinness4422 Can't wait for Budapest. That men's 200m final might be the most stacked final in history or atleast in recent history. I want to see Lyles and Tebogo AND Knighton go at it.
Interesting
Lookin forward to a fit and ready Degrasse in the W.C....
Click bait 😂
he might go 19.7X and maybe even come home with a medal 🥉 lucky. 200 just too competitive.
Так он чуть ли не 5-м с 10,16 вышел с виража!
What’s crazy is that you’re scraping the bottom of the barrel AFTER you’ve already scraped the bottom on this very mediocre barrel.
“He won this race easily…” My man, the whole point of this video is that they had him in the first 100m. Not an easy win lol
I was in the stand
damnnn
Degrade always bring home a medal hood runner
Seem to really underestimate degrasse. Also aren't Olympian medalist slow for 2 years after they medal?
Until someone beats Noah Lyles in a major race, your opening statement “Arguably the most competitive event in Track & Field right now” is a joke.
he didn't even go full out u can see
19,7
DEGRASSE IS THE BEST SPRINTER IN THE WORLD ,SINCE BOLT RETIRED..BAR NONE
🧢
Luffy gear 5 is the biggest event
like you said, this Canadian man just Turns up at the big stage, i think him and Tebogo might just shock the world
De Grasse has never NOT medalled in any championship he's been in. From 2015 to 2022.
Two bronze in 2015
Two bronze, 1 silver 2016
2017 he pulled out due to injury
A silver and bronze in 2019
One gold, 2 bronze medals 2021
One gold 2022
Most of these are from individual events.
From "Canada" yea right...he's lived and trained down here in Jacksonville for quite some time. Not his year this year, although I think he has one or two more left before he calls it a career.
Ok who is going to shut up Noah Kyle's? Book all these guys in the same race like the old days sane with the women, bump all of the day in and out hype

Dude... come on... 20.19 isn't going anywhere. 😂😅 and 10.16...??? 😏😅
Dude no one celebrates half a race ..
Dude why are you so obseessed with the split times? As you saw, they are NEVER reliable and they are meaningless anyway. What matters is the final time!
is he related to the transgender astrophysicist degrasse?
the time s are shitty! who cares!
Do you need to lie in your title just to get extra clicks? Another crazy race did not just happen!
De Grasse is back!
Go Andre go Canada
