I listen to modern TV with subtitles on. I thought it was my hearing 'till I realised anything before about 1985 is fine. These are actors with stage experience so excellent diction, and NO background noise/music to swamp the dialogue.
The song heard in the background while Vic and Ingrid are chatting is "The Story of My Life ". It was an early Bacharach and David composition. It topped the singles charts in the UK in 1958. The singer was Michael Holliday, who had a great, easy going style, and was dubbed ' the British Bing Crosby '. There were remarkable similarities in the two singers. Michael enjoyed enormous success, but it all proved too much for him. Sadly, he committed suicide in 1963. RIP.
Ingrid reminds me of a later character in the TV series The Lovers. Beryl (played by Paula Wilcox) is another female character with a one track mind - marriage.
Hi, I was wondering if you happened to have A Brothers Tale? Which is a 3-part series starring Trevor Eve which was shown on ITV in 1983 please ? The story is from Stan Barstow who wrote A Kind Of Loving. I look forward to hearing from you. Regards Tim
I have this DVD (got from UK) and I am tech idiot and have no idea how to upload all 10 episodes to YT. If I could send this to you, hopefully someone who is trustworthy (after I finish) , if you are in US, I would be glad if you could upload them for others and then send the DVDs back to me. Let me know.
@@jobellecollie7139 Well, I don't know how to. I don't have a phone and a very old computer. So I guess you will need to buy the DVD's and do it yourself, sorry.
Love the music. A fantastic series like this is a thing of the past, tv is mainly garbage now.

Great Yorkshire accents, makes me home sick and Huddersfield Town got mentioned too. Wonderful !!!
Even though it was filmed in Lancashire. I know because I watched it being filmed in Ramsbottom.

Please upload. I don’t like getting hooked on characters and then left hanging.

what about episode 3
Where are the other episodes
He was as innocent as they come
The lead looks about 30 and we are meant to believe he is 20. Ridiculous.
He was 28
She was 21
Yes I looked it up too. Though he would pass for 32.
A kind of lovving
Ingrid was pretty, but boring. Pretty boring, in all honesty. Vic needed someone with a bit more between the ears. I
"Ingrid was pretty, but boring. Pretty boring..." Ha, ha, ha! Also, true!
💜💜
Where is episode 4
Not as good as the original wuth Alan bates but still a crackin series.
This is one of the most boring things I've ever watched.
😂
