    Hi Alice, could you please tell me what percentage iodine solution you used? I am going to have to make my own iodine solution. Also, I wondered what type of light bulb you use and how far from leaf you set it up. Kind regards.

      She uses this iodine - www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/tincture-of-iodine-30ml-home-brewing.html which is 8-10% I believe.

    Hi! What’s the distance between the leaf and the lamp? Thanks so much

      Hi - thanks for this. It depends on the lamp you're using.
      If using an LED lamp, place 10-15cm from the leaf.
      If using a halogen work light, place 1m away.
      Beware that lamps can over heat, make sure your lamp is PAT tested and place away from other objects as this is quite a long exposure time!

      i did a test previously using a 50w halogen lamp but it was at a distance of 30/40cm.
      The image was imprinted on the leaf but at the same time the leaf dried up and in the alcohol and iodine phases the leaf blackened and the image disappeared.
      I think I got the type of leaf and the type of exposure wrong, what do you think about?
      Thanks so much!

      I'm trying to replicate this process and some leafs won't loose chlorophyll in the methylated spirits, I'm experimenting with pelargonium and other plants but I have no discernable image yet

    Hey there, I have a quick question if anyone could help.
    The only iodine that I could find was 5% antiseptic. Is that what I need?

    • @Hfletch
      @Hfletch 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You have to buy iodine from a brewery, as it needs to be high percentage
