IDF commandos raided the airport terminal and rescued all the hostages except one who was hospitalized. In his outrage Idi went to the hospital and murdered the Israeli patient. I will give it a 2 or 3 star airline for Uganda. I wish Uganda airlines, Airbus A330-800neo have air vent to be comfortable for you to sleep with a blanket, external camera and window inside the lavatory.

the random boarding 'script' (go go go - last helicopter out of vietnam!) #hilarious even tho unsurprising i'd still be peeved (read: raging like Mordor inside) so er Emmanuel with his sweater (was it cool outside??) practically having the cabin to yourself must make filming more chilled. that IFE screen was uber reflective - i don't think i've ever noticed you film that way lol so inquiring minds need to know: how did the "whatever that is in the middle" cheese(?) taste - ah, the 'aggressively basic' loo followed by the screaming, existential angst of that service bin - a properly branded #PatrickFliesPlanes video moment. such a wonderful way to wrap up an episode with added info on the airline (and the narration is getting slicker with a news anchor vibe to it #props) ... the deplaning and after #yikes

Thank you, Patrick. The A330-800 is quite a good aircraft, isn't it? I understand that the CEO Jennifer Bamuturaki has said that it will be in 2034 to 2035 when the Uganda Airlines is expected to "break even." But I have been sceptical from the very beginning because of the concern about her qualifications, as you have pointed out. Losing millions in not new to African airlines and profitability is rare, with the exception of the Ethiopian one. That is why I am eagerly anticipating their report 10 years from now. I doubt if they will meet their target, but your guess is as good as mine. If they fail to get there, that will be a sign that our airline is in serious trouble going forward. It would be at least a decade since the end of the pandemic lockdown. Therefore, it would be interesting to hear their excuse then.

A timely visit considering the current situation in the middle east. I refer to the Air France hijacking in 1976 when we were all on the edge of our seats. Operation Entebbe, also known as Operation Jonathan, was an Israeli hostage rescue mission. It took place in July 1976 in Entebbe, Uganda. An Air France airplane was hijacked on 27 June 1976 by German and Palestinian terrorists wanted the release of prisoners held in Israel and four other countries.

I suspect Uganda Airlines may have bitten off a bit more than it can chew with the 338's and the grandiose expansion plans. I don't think the widebodies will last long - my crystal ball tells me that they'll default on the payments and lose the planes.

Idk about them defaulting necessarily. If they can get some good medium haul airplanes, then these routes become more affordable and they may be able to actually use the A330 on routes their meant for, like Asia and North America

@@PatrickSheaAviation Do they have any on order? If not, then the 737 MAX or A320/321NEO would be ideal for EBB-NBO, DAR, DXB, DOH, BOM, DEL, LOS, CAI and IST, assuming (doubtfully) that the airline can afford to take on more aircraft. As for the 338's, expanding to the UK and Germany and also flying them to JNB and CPT (the airline could be a cheaper alternative for Europe-South Africa than European or Gulf carriers) would make more sense than flying to China or SE Asia. But then again they'd be competing directly with Rwandair, and Rwanda's economy is in much better shape than Uganda's.

Baganda names are becoming a disgrace to Uganda. I doubt whether Uganda will have any muganda president. The hate for this lovely country is too much by people from only one tribe
