  • This video is a brief overview of the Nome offshore mining leases ownership, with maps. What areas are open to all? Where do most miners operate? Who has the most acreage?
Part 17 of my 93 part lecture series on Mining for Gold Offshore Nome.
This one presents information on mining claims mapper and ownership of the offshore mining leases, as well as a brief overview of some geology.

Really kind of you to put this together to share with everyone. I've been curious where the recreational areas are located and your video clearly identified them. Thank you!

Thank you for an very interesting and informative video. I was wondering how that all worked. And thank you for the reply on the last video.

Thanks. From what I hear, the Discovery Channel drama set in this area doesn't cover much detail about the legalities, or even much detail on the business or technical ends of things.

Great Video. But can you make the sound louder, I'm using full volume on my phone and it's hard to hear you.

Thanks, I noticed the sound issue too. I was using a different microphone, since I was on the computer instead of using the camera's mic. I'm not sure how to fix, but I'll try a few things.

Most operations don't make their production numbers public, and those that do probably don't publicize the real numbers.

Depends on how much work you put into your operation.. make since..

You should be out dredging in 600 feet of water. Yes that presents major problems, but 12,000 years ago, sea level was 400 feet lower than it is today due to the glaciation that covered the planet at that time

600 feet of water is something like 400 miles away.
