One thing I really love about the Hee Haw Gospel numbers....did you ever notice how Grandpa Jones never wore his hat? He'd put the joking and Grandpa character aside, and he was all serious and respectful when he sang about our Lord.
And Buck wears his bibs right. Always reminds me of when I was a kid Get together with family friends and sing from little green paperback hymns books. Covers were faded but the pages were clear and legible “Make a joyful noise…”
I love the times the Gospel Singers were all wearing well used bib coveralls that were clean and their hair was combed straight back like they were in the church choir in their "Sunday go to meeting clothes."
My kind of gospel singing. I grew up with this kind of singing! You cannot stay down listening to this kind if singing. It brings you true joy and a smile
My Dad is close to passing. He told my Sister he was ready for The Glory Land Truck. I knew this song is what he meant. I'm so glad to have found this HEE HAW version of it. To whoever posted it, THANK YOU! ❤️
Sorry to be so off topic but does anybody know a tool to log back into an Instagram account?? I somehow lost the password. I would love any assistance you can give me.
@Maxwell Jefferson Thanks so much for your reply. I got to the site thru google and I'm trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.

Nothing beats that "table slapping, foot stomping" music! Outstanding!

I heard that he was all business when it came to the gospel songs. He was the leader of the group

Maybe they should put Gospel music back in prime time TV. Might be the cure for what ails U.S..
To me this segment was always the best part of The Hee Haw show when the gospel quartet would thrill us with great harmony.
I miss watching Hee Haw back in the day. Times have changed for the worst. Yes the Gospel Quartet was always a pleasure to hear on Hee Haw!
I could listen these old gospel hymns for hours

I miss Hee Haw! Seems like all the bad music (not really music) has taken over.
Where's the melody? This is a weird rendition.
who are you...Ludwig van Beethoven
Buck Owens sings lead melody. They blend very well.
Maybe you should get the peanut butter out of your ears…..
Hee Haw is a musical treasure.
