Bad idea. Now you don't have a weapon. And one stab won't stop them especially with adrenalin going. Knife is an ambush weapon (if need be, otherwise a good tool).
I once say a shadow of a guy running behind me and turned arround in a flash ready to react with my arms up...... He was indeed jogging. ...Funny, I never really saw him again on that street....
My father had a nervous breakdown, he almost stabbed me. Before watching doug and what he said, really makes sense. My instinct after seeing a knife I know already what to do, smashed him with a chair and disarmed. Blades should be felt not to be seen so true.
He must have alot of road rash... "Hears jogger coming up behind him" "Jumps into road drawing his gun" *sees there is no threat* Reholsters and keeps walking till the next jogger comes along....and then after his 1100th duck and cover, he finds out he was walking in the middle of a marathon lol
If that's the real scenario, then shouldn't the video be called what happens when a guy with a knife just stabs random people who aren't paying attention? The premise of the video is stupid, because there's a 0% chance that two people who are prepared will end in anything other than the shooter winning. This is a stupid hypothetical about what would happen if one of you was ready and the other one was super drained but not ready, it's stupid
The most important take away is situational awareness. But as with anything it will only go so far. In the example above if Doug had a gun and just shot Zero from behind without warning, game over. All you can hope for is that you have enough time to react to an attacker and the only way to increase your odds of being able to react is situational awareness.
I think this is a perfect video to show people that question why cops shoot knife wielding suspects and say things like, "All he had was a knife." A knife wielding man can be VERY dangerous, even in the hands of someone who has no expertise training. Good video!
We await your conclusive video evidence that goes counter to EVERY SINGLE knowledgeable firearms/defensive instructor, as well as countless real life encounters, that demonstrates reliable stopping of a moving threat by 'shooting the legs'. Not to mention the 'femoral arteries are a real thing and the target will still bleed out' tiny little problem anyway.
I don't think your on point here, the video shows a trained man drawing his weapon against a surprise incoming attack, and he fails in every scenario, meaning that if a surprise attack with kill intentions wouldve been attempted on a cop, the cop would be dead. The cops shooting at a guy with a knife then means that he had plenty of time to draw his weapon and decide what to do, and, instead of shooting him in the leg or something, they choose to empty a full fucking mag on a guy while having distance, time, and firepower on their side. Anyways i've never been in combat, just an opinion
Some people train for countless hours to condition their bodies and minds to be able to fight. Others talk shit on those people in the comments section while eating cheetos and drinking mountain dew. LOL
Lol so true, I just read some serious bullshit in the comment section, and the guys talking shit about the vets never have any videos of their own on the subject.
+ReconCrusader This is a poor and terrible attitude. To fight is not to be human. To fight is to be animal. To REASON is to be human. We all should be trained to fight and defend ourselves against attackers who intend to kill. This does NOT mean that we shouldn't have the discipline to exercise restraint and use reason and logic to try and strategize ways of avoiding the fight. Be smarter right up until the point when reason does you no good. Then, and only then, should you be like the animal and kill.
ReconCrusader In these comments, you come off as someone who is very angry and has very little self control, cussing in comments when there is no need, insulting when there is no need. Humans do not HAVE to be violent. We are much more intelligent than lions. We are capable of gathering and cooking food without chasing down and killing it. The only time that it is technically necessary to be violent is when we are given no other choice in order to avoid bodily harm or death. We are capable of evolving into a more and more empathetic and compassionate race who do not harm each other over time. Notice I said “capable”, not that we will for sure, as I do not see into the future.
"Weapons are meant to be felt, not to be seen". I don't know it this is Mr. Marcaida's quote or maybe he is citing other earlier source, but that expression is full of truth.
Marcaida's assessment of this situation is very clear when he questions "where do the 7 yards begin? Does it begins on the charge?, or does it begins when the knife wielder pulls the tool?
***** Elite does not refer to their status. It refers to their experience; they have a higher chance of surviving in such a scenario which makes them "elite". I don't entirely agree with the term, but it it feels right in this situation.
I've been taught "not to fear what you see , but what you don't see" in close range , meaning hand to hand or grappling , a small blade will do a lot of damage without being felt like a larger blade.
TheEdc85 *I'm* still trying to figure out how, in 2013(which is when this video was posted), someone becomes an "Elite Gun Fighter" without ending up in jail.
Zero's control over all of his movements is the mark of a true, highly trained professional. Nothing he does is clumsy or accidental. And Doug's mastery of hand to hand combat with weapons is both inspiring and intimidating. Neither of these men should be messed with.
i must say id love to train with both of these guys. id also love to see these two guys develop a training regimen together. i think that would be sick
the one that wants to kill the person who's not expecting it wins lol. it's not like the guy pulls a knife out and starts waving it around at you. he probably has it hidden in hand, walks close then stabs you before you even know you're in a fight
Not if a significant wound is dealt to the gun arm first. Doesn’t take much to disable a tendon or ligament, and you wouldn’t be able to grip the gun after that. There’s a reason arm, wrist, and hand cuts are considered fatal in historical martial arts. I’m pretty sure the same thing would apply to a hand holding a gun.
Long ago my old Sensei told us that a gun would put us at a psychological disadvantage because it induced unwarranted confidence and caused mistakes in timing and judging the reality of the situation. He said that gun training should be as exacting as knife or empty hand training. He also said the hidden enemy of all gunmen is hesitation. He is long gone.
I dunno, there's lots of examples, many of them tragic, of people using their guns in public spaces. None of them have seemed to me to be operating from a disadvantaged position. I think having a loaded gun pointed at your face can be considered a psychological disadvantage, at least when I consider that prospect.
Remember, these dudes train for this scenario. Yes these tactics can work well, but real time situations can produce several different outcomes. Remaining vigilant 24/7 is a rare thing if you're not faced with it constantly, lol
ever since I started highschool I tried training myself to be vigilant every second in school, since I know there are some quite aggressive dudes in my class. so whenever I'm bored or has my mind in a relaxed state, I just try to listen to everything around me, glance at every corner and try to remember each of my classmates's positions. Until now I've never been bullied and I've learned to pay attention to every sound. I'm no expert but I know constant vigilance is quite useful
@@shadekeigarblacksky If you drop to your back like that onto the street you will cause yourself serious injury and once you hit the concrete/Tar/Gravel ground you will be in serious pain and the guy with the knife will have the upper hand.
@@shadekeigarblacksky Plus this guy knows exactly when the guy will be running at him and from what direction this entire thing was set up with the ideal conditions to make this possible things are not this straight forward and neat in a real-life scenario.
Sure, sounds easy. And most training teaches you to die - while making you feel safer. While competent training may help reaction time, there is no substitute for paranoia, ferocity, and determination. And fortune, of course. If you can run, do it. Range is a firearms friend.

I got stabbed and never even knew it until the fight was over. I was beating on him and he dropped the knife. I thought he had just pulled it but he had already hit me twice. Fortunately, the guy didn't know what he was doing or didn't have enough force OR didn't have a sharp enough knife but 1 stab hit a rib and the second stab hit my lower left abdomen and he twisted it but he didn't break through my abdominal muscles so just a flesh wound. Nothing a bunch of staples couldn't fix. Point is he didn't advertise it.
I live in San Antonio, Texas. The 1990's were really violent. I got shot in a drive by at a gas station in 1991. I got stabbed at a gas station buying beer in 1996. I don't know ...Am I lucky or unlucky? And I was getting gas on my way to work in 91 and heading home in 96. Sh*t happens... :)
hey i'm just wondering: was it one of those blacked-out knives with all black coating/black handle or was it shiny like the one in this video? and do you think it made a difference to whether you would have seen it sooner? I know it is one singular example but i am interested to know if that played a factor in your first-hand example, if you don't mind me asking
@@jhanks2012 it looked at a brief glance like one of those simulated wood handled lock blades...blade being silver or chrome. I had him in a headlock so I didn't see him reaching for it.
I especially liked the technique of dropping to the floor, I had not thought of that, and it is very effective since you have your feet to control your assailant if he is still pushing forward. Then again, it's not like you'll have these kinds of engagements in real life, since you don't really know who's going to attack you, and if the knife guy knows you are a threat, he probably won't come directly unless cornered.
You never know with all the nuts out there that you might one day have to use the fall and draw move. I find this very valuable because I've been in fights 8 on 1, been jumped in alleys. etc.
The odds of it happening are extremely slim, but that does not make it a fantasy and those who train for it will be prepared should it ever ever to them, while those who don't train won't be. There is also a lot to be said about an increased level of alertness and preparation for any type of attack if you train for a specific type of attack, even if that attack you trained for never occurs.
Lord Farquaad - Rereading the post, I agree with you that #TI SOY may not have meant it as a racist remark. However, the comment makes fun of the foreign sound of a nonnative speaker, which is somewhat discriminatory as in ’us’ and ’them’.
This is really interesting. The situational awareness is most key. Using your hearing before sight and reacting initially, by changing position. Its interesting
being aware of surroundings, training peripheral vision and being in-tune with your gut is key... I'd been training for a few years and I was on the way from uni classes one time - for some reason I looked over my left shoulder and about 10 metres back a pair of scumbags suddenly turned back the way they had been advancing from... they clearly saw my face and didn't fancy a head on confrontation, but were happy for a sneak mugging attempt I didn't bother pursuing. threat was dealt with and done without even raising a single bpm
Irrelevant, unless you are expecting an attack. Then might as well draw the gun or simply move away from the threat from the beginning. You can't just roll then draw your gun just because someone running towards you, the knife will always be hidden unless its a bluff. In an ambush all of that are useless. Then again its mostly bluff in the street, a thief rarely just stab and kill without warning(altought it happens) .
Many fail to realize unless they train... no time to play with your weapon, it must be round in the chamber + safety off right? *Situational awareness* becomes your life investment.
They should train with paint simunition. That way you can keep score on effective/ineffective techniques and score on how well training is coming along. Also, lots of paint splotched clothes...
i'd like to see how they can manage the same scenario somewhere with alot of noise and people, the killer could come from anywhere mixing himself in the crowd
I love these set piece videos......real life is very different. No one walks around in a state of constant situational awareness.....unless the environment necessitates it.

Mr Marcaida makes the point that he would (wisely) only pull his knife on an unsuspecting victim once he was in kill range. An attack of that sort is unlikely to be successfully countered no matter what the victim's level of training. So killing a person in a surprise knife attack would be easy. Killing someone in a surprise gun attack would be even easier. In fact, in a complete surprise attack, anyone with some understanding of physiology and average strength should have no trouble killing another person without using any weapon at all. So there are only certain types of attacks where training, no matter how intensive, provides any useful benefit at all. Training is primarily of value in a "mutual combat" type situation....where both parties know violence is imminent....or in a case where an attacker is stupid enough to telegraph his intent. It is not like the Jason Bourne crap in the movies. Faced with a truly unexpected lethal attack...the most trained person in the world will likely die just like anyone else.
I would argue the man with the good training, in a mutually unarmed situation, will always successfully defend an attack from an unarmed assilant. Unless the assilant is also a highly skilled fighter, then suprise wins the fight. Also Bourne is always in a "mutual combat" situation, he's literally on the run in every movie lol. Arguably one of the most realisitic action movies.. so bad example.
you can also kick as you draw, guys. You can fall backward away from the blade, too. if you wear your piece under a t shirt, up front, the draw is faster and the clearing of the shirttail is much more reliable.
Keep it simple. Any action that you can't drill yourself into (i.e. action which are not applicable *all* the time) ought not to be considered. For the layman, which is 99% of us here, you need to stay on the basics. You will fuck up and get yourself killed because of the _cool factor._
i feel like in most real life encounters the person with the knife will most likely pull his knife and wield it in a matter as a tool to intimidate.(i.e. i have a knife give me your wallet) "oh yes, let me reach for my wallet... funny thing about my wallet is..its actually a gun." but then again i don't live in real life, i live in a world where i'm constantly fending off silent knife wielding ninja assassins that want to stick me more than steal from me.
In my part of the world, there were many cases wherein you get stabbed or shot first without hesitation so that the thugs would simply ransack your corpse with ease. :(
Gerald Port true.. it can definitely go both ways.. i think this is where the being aware of your surroundings comes in... If your walking somewhere, at night, or just alone in general, you definitely need to be more aware than if say, your with a group of friends walking home from the bar, or whatever.
That's the beauty of CC they don't know what you're reaching for. Alternatively you can keep your money in a money clip that has a flip out blade. Believe it or not those 2 inch blades have saved money and lives.
This might shock some people but, if someone wants to harm you and they have the element of surprise, there is almost nothing you can do to stop them. I would suggest not going to areas with large amounts of strangers and, if you must, go in groups of 3 or more. For some reason, studies have shown, even crazy people, wont attack when there is a 3 to 1 superiority. Oh yeah, and, carry at least a good knife, flashlight, and pistol everywhere you go.
wrong some people have sixth sense about danger a in built feeling of impending doom....that moment you have tactics no COP no MILITARY person has ever been taught to use deeply they rely on fear of the uniform or badge or gang up mentality...perhaps you have things that give you small advantages for limited protection ...that Japanese LAPD Ninja expert knows this one tactic super well he is fantastic both hand to hand and weapons. Chosen Ninja
Mike Willan That is completely true and also even KNOW WHAT TO DO in a split second? Most people usually panic but those trained constantly will act on reflex actions SPEC OPS or even POLICE expect danger?
Those people are utter sheeple ---I took real mace to UK and emptied it/ disposed it upon leaving knowing US customs would go ape sh/## in USA but on thing >>> I fealt super safe taking THE TUBE and I did see all out fights out at the bars and I bet they had knives for sure in London?
These two guys are high level experts, with good advice and always something to learn. Unsuspected attacks (by an experienced attacker) are almost indefendable. At the end of the day your situational awareness and common sense will be your keys to survival.
Very true I am learning situational awareness now wish I had known about situational awareness years ago another thing to take in mind is are you prepared to take a person's life sounds easy watched a video of a church that allowed everyone to bring in a gun I commented that you must be mentally prepared to take a life anyone can kill the mind is a powerful weapon but can they live with that every day and night hunted by a life you took I t can break many people even people in military so take time and train the mind mentally prepare yourself for such an event (and to anyone who reads this I am in no way shape or form telling you to prepare by starting with small animals those who hunt understand don't do stuff a psychopath would do you will become the very monster you may have to kill in defense one day
I wanna bet 99% of attackers are unskilled and possibly also not 100% sober (I count someone overly aggressive as “not sober” because they’re not thinking tactically). The main point of self-defense is knowing how to fend off those cases, not to be prepared for a Yakuza hit job or your attacker being a Speznats instructor with five black belts.
Human reaction time will not allow defense against most suprise attacks. Imagine an armed man casually passing by you and his intent was lethal. You (no matter who you are) are to slow. Even a HIGHLY trained invidual would only have a slim (if any) chance. If they did survive the attack it would be because they were aware and read his body language (highly trained individuals will totally control body language i.e. no warning). Situational awareness is your best survival tool. Train and improve for sure. But alot of survival is preventative measures and psycological training. Stay calm, aware, and hone your physical skills (whichever you chose). Put it all together and live to fight another day. Real situations are volitile, chaotic, and highly unpredictable there are no "this always works" techniques. Train, learn, and evolve continuously. Hands, knives, and guns are tools. Use what best suits the situation to ensure your survival. These men are well trained and are using valid techniques. The gun draw with his back turned is not shoot without looking. Notice his head and body position he can see his attacker. No gun should ever be fired blind.
Agree 100%. It's a crapshoot without proper frame of mind, personal tool handling practice, and heightened awareness of the situation. Bless these people for giving us information for our folder and seeds to nurture
That is so true. It's a SURPRISE attack, so you're not expecting it, and in a surprise it takes you several seconds to even realize what's going on. Sometimes people don't realize for a while that they were even shot. I like the quote from Life Aquatic: "You never say, 'I'm gonna fight you, Steve'. You just smile and act natural, and then you sucker-punch him." That's a surprise attack. Situational awareness...physically, cover (buildings, cars, people nearby), sound (footsteps, ambient noise, talking), light (sunset, streetlights) can all come into play. Also don't underestimate the knowledge factor- what you know, and what they assailant thinks. Watching for this stuff seems real paranoid, but it's the approach you should take to driving anyway, so might as well do it when walking. Safety is always first! Proper driving really takes a lot of attention. There's this intersection I go through a lot in a small downtown, and every time I make a left turn, I have to watch for: Oncoming cars, cars exiting parallel parking spaces and are now oncoming, pedestrians legally crossing, oncoming car waiting to turn left- but there's one behind them that is going straight, idiots (cars or pedestrians), pedestrians or cars being blocked from my view by oncoming traffic or signs/light posts, someone exiting the parking lot at the corner. That's a lot to watch for, but the same principles can go a way in avoiding attacks. An attack, maybe survivable. A surprise, you're toast. So just don't let yourself get surprised- arm yourself with knowledge, and pick good situations.
WoW with Zero & Doug together and Zeros Firearm skills and techniques and Dougs cold weapon skills and techniques combined will make one Hell of a Military & LE & Civilian combat and defense combat system!!! I am very impressed at seeing these to masters in action and training us together!!! 👍👏👏👏
I am so glad to see this video because the other night i started practicing a judo roll and wondering how i could incorporate it into my journey and now i get to see how effective it can be. I was using it to take a cover position. You can actually dive about 2 or 3feet into a roll and the momentum will allow you to get on your feet quickly. This stuff is awesome
The comments are ridiculous. Everyone is scrutinizing one part of the video, the gun portion. Why isn't anyone talking about the knife? This whole video is about concept not techniques. In the gun part, he shows the importance of creating distance to dodge a knife. The examples are not to "how to."
The 'running with a knife' isn't only "hollywood", it's actually a common pattern in terror attacks. Always know the threat you're training towards. the usage of a knife in a terror attack is different than in a combat between military forces, different than getting robbed in the street and different than a fight between fighting experts.
95% of the time the only warning you are going to get from your attacker that they are armed is if they don't actually have any intent of killing you such as in a mugging. If somebody actually intends to kill you out in the real everyday life then you are a dead man and doesn't matter what you are armed with or how well trained you are.
if the intent is to kill then like most of gang stabing you'll never know who's gonna stab you until his knives pierce your skin, and terror attack is meant to inflict terror or sense of insecurity so of course they deliberately show their weapon and what they can do with it
I went to sign up for a self defense class. the instructor came out all macho on me w/o explaining shoes on the mat. I thought he was scared or crazy so I declined the course. Even masters gotta have patience.
The same shoes that stand at a urinal with a pee pool under them, walk in the grass or where other shoes have went that step in dog waste. and then you would be ok to roll around on that mat with your face, arms etc exposed?
I'm a bit late to this video, but people don't seem to realise that most knife crime (66%) is with a hidden blade, like Doug said at the start. Most of the time you'll get asked about the time or where the person asking is, and by that time, you're already on the floor with a puncture wound.
Great video guys. Always a pleasure to watch to pros deep dive into situations like this. It provides a lot of perspective that you may not think about otherwise.
i enjoy the knife vs gun argument as much as the next guy, but really theres too many what ifs to say one is superior for self defense i guess thats why i carry both :)

The problem is who is that pre-cautious at anyone running. Image I kid is running to school and this guy dive rolls and shoots him up 😂.

Good video!
+Sgtandrew1799 Exactly, especially if they are a bit unstable (on drugs or have a mental illness)
Statistically knife wounds are even more deadly than gun wounds!

+ReconCrusader This is a poor and terrible attitude. To fight is not to be human. To fight is to be animal. To REASON is to be human. We all should be trained to fight and defend ourselves against attackers who intend to kill. This does NOT mean that we shouldn't have the discipline to exercise restraint and use reason and logic to try and strategize ways of avoiding the fight.
Be smarter right up until the point when reason does you no good. Then, and only then, should you be like the animal and kill.
ReconCrusader
In these comments, you come off as someone who is very angry and has very little self control, cussing in comments when there is no need, insulting when there is no need.
Marcaida's quote or maybe he is citing other earlier source, but that expression is full of truth.

the one that wants to kill the person who's not expecting it wins lol. it's not like the guy pulls a knife out and starts waving it around at you. he probably has it hidden in hand, walks close then stabs you before you even know you're in a fight
Yeah because attackers doesnt get panick like ever, but yes most likely
The gun dude would probably be able to get a few good shots and take his attacker down with him before he bleeds to death, due to the adrenaline.
Or can throw it to main arteries....
In the military they have what is called: heightened sense awareness where they say: they can sense aggressive movements in a hearthbeat.

I find this very valuable because I've been in fights 8 on 1, been jumped in alleys. etc.
I use this tactic all the time in call of duty.
But if someone is slashing your legs, they make a good target for your gun, and then you don't have to run.
Can you imagine some dumbasses actually pay money for this -training- fantasy role playing?
The odds of it happening are extremely slim, but that does not make it a fantasy and those who train for it will be prepared should it ever ever to them, while those who don't train won't be. There is also a lot to be said about an increased level of alertness and preparation for any type of attack if you train for a specific type of attack, even if that attack you trained for never occurs.

This is really interesting. The situational awareness is most key. Using your hearing before sight and reacting initially, by changing position. Its interesting
being aware of surroundings, training peripheral vision and being in-tune with your gut is key... I'd been training for a few years and I was on the way from uni classes one time - for some reason I looked over my left shoulder and about 10 metres back a pair of scumbags suddenly turned back the
way they had been advancing from... they clearly saw my face and didn't fancy a head on confrontation, but were happy for a sneak mugging attempt
I didn't bother pursuing. threat was dealt with and done without even raising a single bpm
Yet, lots of people are focused on their cell phones or headphones 🥴

Ha. YT used to have way better content.
John Shaft
I can dig it! I'm just talkin bout Shaft!
Ambushes in open field are surprise attacks also....but training overcomes that these days. Training is always the method to success in anything.
John Shaft I agree with the gun and the knife. But that no weapon statement was rather questionable.
Luke La Thangue definitely not a realistic action movie.
And this makes this saying "never bring a knife to a gun fight" so much truer.
you can also kick as you draw, guys.
Nobody is layman only lack of awareness is the problem. Everything is inside us. To know more contact me I teach Meditative Sciences.
Falling back with a draw is actually a brilliant idea. Although instructor Zero would probably do a 20 foot barrel roll.
axelord4ever
You can always try to kick his legs as you pull your weapon
Don Russell you can also throw the blade into them run up yank it out then Finnish them off,or pull out a secondary blade and finish them.
i feel like in most real life encounters the person with the knife will most likely pull his knife and wield it in a matter as a tool to intimidate.(i.e. i have a knife give me your wallet) "oh yes, let me reach for my wallet... funny thing about my wallet is..its actually a gun." but then again i don't live in real life, i live in a world where i'm constantly fending off silent knife wielding ninja assassins that want to stick me more than steal from me.
lol them ninjas..
In my part of the world, there were many cases wherein you get stabbed or shot first without hesitation so that the thugs would simply ransack your corpse with ease. :(
Gerald Port true.. it can definitely go both ways.. i think this is where the being aware of your surroundings comes in... If your walking somewhere, at night, or just alone in general, you definitely need to be more aware than if say, your with a group of friends walking home from the bar, or whatever.
fumble your hand off of the wallet, then draw pistol. profits.

Gun ego is dangerous
This might shock some people but, if someone wants to harm you and they have the element of surprise, there is almost nothing you can do to stop them. I would suggest not going to areas with large amounts of strangers and, if you must, go in groups of 3 or more. For some reason, studies have shown, even crazy people, wont attack when there is a 3 to 1 superiority. Oh yeah, and, carry at least a good knife, flashlight, and pistol everywhere you go.

deltaalphaone1 Just because some people can "sense" danger coming, does not mean they know what it looks like, or what direction its coming from.

These two guys are high level experts, with good advice and always something to learn.
Unsuspected attacks (by an experienced attacker) are almost indefendable. At the end of the day your situational awareness and common sense will be your keys to survival.
Very true I am learning situational awareness now wish I had known about situational awareness years ago another thing to take in mind is are you prepared to take a person's life sounds easy watched a video of a church that allowed everyone to bring in a gun I commented that you must be mentally prepared to take a life anyone can kill the mind is a powerful weapon but can they live with that every day and night hunted by a life you took I t
can break many people even people in military so take time and train the mind mentally prepare yourself for such an event (and to anyone who reads this I am in no way shape or form telling you to prepare by starting with small animals those who hunt understand don't do stuff a psychopath would do you will become the very monster you may have to kill in defense one day
Well put mate
I wanna bet 99% of attackers are unskilled and possibly also not 100% sober (I count someone overly aggressive as “not sober” because they’re not thinking tactically).
The main point of self-defense is knowing how to fend off those cases, not to be prepared for a Yakuza hit job or your attacker being a Speznats instructor with five black belts.
Never saw an Instructor Zero video where I didn't learn something.
This was uploaded 2013. I still watch this in 2019. This gives you the prespective of a gun fighter and a knife fighter. Both masters of their art.
Absolutely correct,, my brother was killed in a terrorist knife attack very similar to what you explained,
Sir, that is excellent input!

Not to mention!!!!
180 knife noscope in the throat obviously gg ez
Investing in body armor can help but that makes me wonder what is the most common target with each weapon in a surprise attack.
if the intent is to kill then like most of gang stabing you'll never know who's gonna stab you until his knives pierce your skin, and terror attack is meant to inflict terror or sense of insecurity so of course they deliberately show their weapon and what they can do with it
I absolutely love these videos showing practice using real life application.
Lesson of the day- don’t mess with either of these guys

NO SHOES ON THE MATS!
charlieRobinson If most of the time you wear shoes, you train with shoes.
charlieRobinson just like my teacher
I went to sign up for a self defense class. the instructor came out all macho on me w/o explaining shoes on the mat. I thought he was scared or crazy so I declined the course. Even masters gotta have patience.
Bill Cornelius there's 2 kinds douche bags and very calm and nice ones, you found a douche bag, good choice to walk out.
The same shoes that stand at a urinal with a pee pool under them, walk in the grass or where other shoes have went that step in dog waste. and then you would be ok to roll around on that mat with your face, arms etc exposed?
Two of my favorites in one. Absolutely awesome.
I'm a bit late to this video, but people don't seem to realise that most knife crime (66%) is with a hidden blade, like Doug said at the start. Most of the time you'll get asked about the time or where the person asking is, and by that time, you're already on the floor with a puncture wound.
Doug i love watching all your fights and your strategies are always flawless. Im absolutely amazed by your work.
2 amazing dudes
Hjula flandman Forrest Gump was amazing too
Great video guys. Always a pleasure to watch to pros deep dive into situations like this. It provides a lot of perspective that you may not think about otherwise.
Enough already!!!! PLEASE PUT TOGETHER A DVD!!! I WILL PAY!!!
why? they have a free youtube channel. old man spotted. weirdo.
i enjoy the knife vs gun argument as much as the next guy, but really theres too many what ifs to say one is superior for self defense i guess thats why i carry both :)
carry both == SUCCEED
"but really theres too many what ifs to say one is superior for self defense." You completely missed the point of these videos.
Absolutely outstanding. 5 stars, gentlemen.
“Bladed weapons are to FELT, not SEEN” great statement of truth.
Cleophus Cavin Except when you purposely change the quote for whatever stupid ass reason.
Imagine being in public , hear someone behind you running and roll on the ground to save your life but turns out to be a jogger XD
That 7 meter distance seems to slowly shorten during the video down to 5 meters.
makes it even harder for the guy with the pistol so whats your'e point?
They are changing the parameters of the example and exercise.
Yeah thats true
I like how this was a fun learning experience for both of them. It's honestly an experiment for the both of them.
Those flippin, rolling , drop moves of the guy with the gun is awesome.
this should be a video response to that mythbusters video.
Dude - when I get home? I'm sending this to Mythbusters.
1:21 "that's Holly wood" 😂😂😂
The point of the 21 foot video was a typical police officers reaction not an elite gun expert.
yup
Why not train all police officer to be gun experts?
@@criticalsage well if they not experts why they even using a gun lol
Instructor Zero needs to offer seminars.
