I ended up getting this for Christmas after asking for a NES Classic. It’s kinda funny.
Lmao same here 😂😂😭😭😭
Same here too. It’s not that bad. I have a different menu.
RIP😂😂😂😂😂
Did it have color?
HunterB2008 Yes
It's funny how bootleg consoles can't even pirate nes games when the entire nes library is probably only 100mb
Sunomeow , not exactly all regions and pirates and homebrews can be about 1GB
one game is probably 100kb
@@RehanR13 there are games from middle 80s about 24KB ,but awso the later ones from 90s can go up to 1MB and multicards can go to 2MB or even 4MB , the modern multicards even can be 256MB or 512MB !!! With many games , so probably this NOAC have et least 64MB or 128MB flash memory for the ROMs
This fake even worse than my PI-NES which includes 9999 in 1 which is 95% are clones lol 🤣
Them commies are out there eating each other. They must work fast to aquire money abroad 🤣🤣🤣🤣
That’s not a classic, it’s a modern knock-off!
Being here after im waiting for the order feels...well...forget it :(
well the tittle of the video kinda gives it away. dont you think?
Really? Lol 😂😂😂
title says fake man
Unmodern knock off
I’m assuming you plugged composite cables into component inputs that are strictly component inputs. If you plug your yellow into your green this is what you get black and white video. I’ve made sure to buy a tv that does both composite and component as well as HD and 4k.
you need to go to your tv settings and select rgb mode :)
I don’t want to tell my dad that he bought this fake knock off so I’m not going to tell him 😢
I own one of these and it works perfectly with all color
I think it depends on what tv you have.
@@Broswald_Inc Wow this is from 2 years ago, and I don't have it anymore
@@Sempnite lol I just bought mine
Same
@@sophiawood8521 lol this comment is from 2 years ago(old), also I got a real NES now
I bought the Cool Baby 600 in 1 with HDMI and it works great! Yes there are a few hacks in the system, but even the hacks are fun! The controller has 4 buttons, and has turbo. Kids love it.
I bought mine for $45 today. I thought I was getting a deal then I saw it for $25 on Ebay 😂 Still pretty good though. Mario bros is one of my favorite games
Does it have super Mario bros 2 ? That’s the only game I want it was my favourite form childhood lol
Can u save progress on it?
@@gregoryvincent2735 Sorry for the late reply: Yes it has Super Mario 2 and 3.
Where have i seen that thumbnail before...
I was on the 80’s Cruise back in 2018 (just a couple of months before this was uploaded), and they had not one but TWO fake NES consoles practically identical to the one shown here, except the color was actually working. And OMG, it was built like crap! It might have been a tolerable way to play NES games on the ship, but the A and B buttons on *every* *controller* were so loose that they kept falling out! I had to hold and use them in a very specific way and even then the buttons still kept falling out, that’s how bad it was!
And keep in mind: this was a professional cruise hosted by the original MTV VJ’s with special guest Rick Springfield, and featured performances by beloved bands from that decade like Loverboy, Thomas Dolby, Colin Hay from Men at Work, The Romantics, Berlin, and quite a few more. No disrespect to anyone involved, 'cause I had such a great time on the cruise. I may not have been alive during the 80's (I was born in late '94), but I am genuinely fascinated by the decade as a whole and love it's music more than any other decade, and being a gamer with a love for the retro I can appreciate the inclusion of a way to play NES games as well as a few 80's arcade games in their original cabinets. But I have to ask: they could afford all these bands that contributed to such an iconic era and a big luxury liner to hold it on and decorate with, but they couldn't afford an actual NES or even the NES Classic Edition (which had been on the market for almost a year and a half by that point)?
My lil bro got the same thing. But the "Entertainment System" is at the top. and the power and reset buttons are gray. It has color in it
The console isn’t broken it’s because you bought the european version witch is noticeable by the sound of the console it’s a lil bit slower than the average 60hertz NES
Good video as always
I got mine yesterday and it works beautifully. Only bummed that the games repeat themselves.
The fact that it’s so light and only has composite out leads me to believe it’s just a NES on a chip-miniaturized components that don’t emulate the NES but actually just _are_ the original system. It sounds cool, but they gave been around for a while and shouldn’t cost this much while working this poorly.
When I read the title, I cannot help but think it's a bootleg of the Nes classic.
Not a problem with your console.... This was years ago. If you still have this system try this. Game red av connected to TV yellow av. Game yellow connected to TV white. They messed up the av cables....

@@CapnRetro I guess you needed this info. like I did. Glad I could help, if you did. Your comment made me come back and read some of these solutions again...lolololol. Some are complaining about the games. This knockoff costs around $20.00. What is there to complain about?
@@janet5610 No complaints from me at least 😅 I just thought this comment should be pinned, cause you just gave everyone an important fix. Though I have the real NES Mini. Just curious. Can you use hackchi with the knockoff? 🤔 If not, I bet someone could reverse engenere the knockoff and make something work 😄
My guess is no, but never hurts to ask around to be sure. I added so many games to my NES Mini. So fun. From GB/GBC/GBA/NES/SNES/N64/SEGA Genesis. Using the wii pro controller, and wii classic controller, cause it only came with 1 conroller. The wii controllers are the est, cause they have the analogue sticks for the N64, and also cause it's comfortable to hold.
(I'll stop here.. I could go on and on about emulation/game preservation) ✌
Ps: My cousin, the legend that helped me build my gaming pc, is the one that gifted me my MES Mini.
Cuz, if by the very off chance you're reading this, thanks again! You're the best 🤜🤛
It's crazy how I see little kiosks in the malls around me selling these from $70-100 USD
lol i saw one at a flea market for 30 usd and found one on walmart 24 usd
I bought it but not from Amazon. I bought it from eBay. So I'm doing it like you said. I didn't bought it from Amazon
Bought on eBay same shxt, I wonder if it’s my tv what the hell
I saw some Indian dude in my local mall Petaling the whole bunch of them and no one was buying them
Since I am thinking about starting a collection of fake/bootleg nes classics, I might have...
Lmao same 😂, and my parents bought it for me o__o
When can I was at the mall with my dad and my sister it was almost my birthday or Christmas I kind of forgot what it was but I think it was my birthday and then I said "hey let's go to that stand and look at that thing"it was my first encounter with anything Nintendo even though it wasn't really a Nintendo console is still has games like Mario, donkey Kong, Tetris, and others I recommend for children take good care of it or it will break.i❤️it
I got one of these a while ago. I made a Lego shell for it.
Bought this for a laugh after seeing AVGN review Action 52.
Giant Mario with harmless frog enemies had me in fits of laughter 🤣🤣🤣
I've got one. I'm pretty sure that it's a clone of the NES, which can now be cloned onto a really tiny PCB. Zelda couldn't be on it, because Zelda could save games, and had a battery in the cartridge so the memory wouldn't lose it's charge. But, I don't think it has any Nintendo produced games at all.
It’s so funny cause I literally already got that fake NES classic addition a few month ago and I was so mad. 😂
bought one at an Asian kitchen utility store (dont ask why they sold it there). I thought it was pretty cool and I did have fun, so not complaining too much.
Do you have your TV set to component or AV? That black & white looks like you have your TV set to Component when it should be AV. Component shares a few cables in common with AV so there is still signal picking up, but it's not showing properly since it's designed for AV.
Could just be an actual problem of the console, but it looks exactly like whenever I accidentally set my gamecube to component when it was supposed to be AV.
I tried changing my TV to AV but there was no signal at all. :( But thanks for the advice man, much appreciated,
Same. This is what happens if I plug the yellow cable into the green port. Unless it's a TV with a shared connection.
My parents bought me that, thinking it was the NES mini.....
😂😂😂😂😂bruh
Geez mister! After watching those games without no color i started seeing you colorless also...
Lol
Lmao same!
This would make a great shell for a raspberry pi
Brandon...just spotted this video..good presentation..these came previously as 500 in 1 clones..I bought the first of 2 to gut and retropie it with Raspberry pi..colour was fine though..only issue I had was half a dozen games are a bad burn..so its roughly a 494 in 1..later on I bought a second one and kept it original..better..no bad roms..the retropie build was copied from Zippiz channel..my 494 is available if you wish to swap the boards inside yours..a little soldering would be needed..Zippiz/Frederik re-used his in a controller..he asked me if I did the same..No..Specs
2024 update...5 years later...the NES mini RPi build is still on my desk...i swear...hardly use it any more...i played a Zelda 8bit game on it over Christmas...there's so many better options for emulation nowadays...if you don't like tinkering then there's KinHank plug n play boxes...Android boxes designed for TV with Emuelec installed...mini PCs with Batocera...Console X's...one for every price point from cheap budget to hundreds of dollars...and then there's millions of handhelds now...we're spoilt for choice
Don’t worry about the color because I’ve dealt with the same situation for a long period of time before I even tried using regular Nintendo in color so I know how you feel but I was so used to it
I know I'm late to the party here, but when you purchase an item to connect to your TV set online and it comes with a North American power plug then you have an NTSC device there, not a PAL one. That explains your color issue, this device probably uses "artifact color" which is quite common in North American 8-bit computer and game display output. Such systems show up on PAL as mostly monochrome, with maybe a hint of pink and green to it.
Looks better than the one I got last year. I got one with 500 games build in. Over half of the games didn't work (including all the original games from the real NES classic.) Most of the other games were weird hack games. I did a video on it on my channel if anyone wants to see how terrible it was.
I'll give you a watch and a sub, check me out in return if you don't mind.
Just empty the shell of the unit and turn it into a retro pi. Boom! 👍
I like it but the controllers fell apart but I modded real NES controllers for it.
Are they even allowed to do that? I feel like Nintendo would have some renewed patents with the Nes classic
the fake nes isnt that bad it has color i didnt get it from amazon,
my mom bought this because she thought it was the nes classic. im shoked
I will say for the heck of nostalgia and having it just to play, you can't go wrong.
# 192 Super Mario is definitely legit.
Colour works with the one my dad got.
The Black & White screen might be due to using an NTSC system on a PAL television
I managed to get one for 6$ at a bin store. It works but in regards to selection there's about 20 games that I wanna play out of the 620. The only thing to do now is check out the bootleg versions of Mario and some of the other classic games.
I got it for chrap price and it blinks whne i turn on the tv i guess it doesnt work:(
Does it have a fake name for mike tyson’s punch out or punch out at all?
Is the colour issue due to the console being NTSC and the TV being PAL?
Anyone else having an issue with this where neither controller works?
You ever got the controllers to work
Any retro gamer should own a retro tv....plus they had these out for years. Some dude was selling them on the middle of the mall and we were looking for super Mario and we couldn't find it on there. He didnt get a purchase from us
I own one of these, but mine has 500 games built in. These put out a garbage video signal. One CRT TV shows games in color, other CRT (color CRT btw) shows it in black and white, my LCD TV has a soft image and it sometimes blanks out, and my video capture device can't even lock on to the signal.
Also the audio is glitched up on mine and buzzes a lot. The controllers are stiff as well. Too stiff.
And imagine 500 games, but no MegaMan games.
There is a HDMI version and even one that has 4 face buttons and has other games as well. I heard the HDMI one isnt that bad, but I rather just play the original hardware or download an emulator and hook up a controller to my PC, or hell just get a PI.
I'm laughing because I literally bought this and got it last Friday haha
Thanks for reviewing this console. I nearly bought it cos I thought it can read nes cartridge
There some that can
how did you hook it up? If you plugged it into an actual composite port then it's the console but a lot of TVs don't have it anymore because you can put into the component port on the green one but some will only give you a black and white one because it doesn't support composite. If you plugged it in through the component port make sure it is not your TV.
My dad bought this and thought it was real lol
Same TuT
Getting some unbox therapy vibes from the thumbnail.
In Soviet Russia in 94 almost everyone played without color on Dendy, which was a chinese famicom clone with old tv's, that couldn't show games in color for some reason and that was completely ok for russian kids back then... :D
I mean, I got mine for 60 dollars, and it works really fine! It has 620 classic games.
boy if from aliexpress :D BTW the first revision was with proper gray power and reset buttons , not black, but even with black ones it looks great :)
its possible to conect the console chip to the pc to add and delete games???
Oh shoot i have this thing but atleast i can play retro nes games with my father
Aaah I've been using a fake NES for 5 years
I was Debating on this But The Real Deal breaker for me is That you Can't Save The Games If you want to Quit! That sucks
Good work with these vids Brandon. It’s good to see people taking an objective approach to this current market of fakes. It’s all too easy to just write stuff off as fake, and leave it as that. But there are those that will be drawn to that market, either ware or unaware. So helps that someone can cast an objective eye over what’s being passed off 👍🏻
Thanks for the kind words Gareth!
Heck it???
I remember playing Dizzy on commodore 64 in black and white. Also space invaders
Brandon, the reason its all in black-and-white is probably because of your TV. It may use NTSC-video rather than PAL-video.
If you force an NTSC-video on a PAL tv, you get washed out black-and-white lines, so all you can do is buy an NTSC tv.
I bought it for 16usd on gearbest. It is worth that money. Super great
Ugh I bought this at a swapmeet for 10 buck, it looked the same. Luckily some guy bought it from for 25 (he knew what was wrong with it ) lol
3:03 ITS AN NTSC CONSOLE, YA DINGUS
Love your videos
Its funny watching these millenial youtubers review old standards. One youtuber called the 9 pin plug proprietary. hahaha
I actually have a fake nes because my dad wanted it cuz it had contra and my mom wanted it to because it Tetris which my mom's favorite game is Tetris but my mom and dad can't tell the difference because they never seen a real one but mine's has color and mine's costed $25 in the swap meet
I have that Pikachu Tetris game on a multi cart it's not bad actually... When you clear a line Pikachu gets excited starts clapping and jumping..also as the game progresses the piece fall speed doesn't increase ...
You can duck the bullets in that Contra stage.
To all... THEY CROSSED THE AV CABLES ON THE SYSTEM. HOOK GAME RED AV TO TV YELLOW. HOOK GAME YELLOW TO TV WHITE. I believe this would solve his color....or lack of color problem.
I'm sorry, but I just saw Mario 14, again! Lmao It's funny how the makers of these "con"soles just throw the same chipset into these crapholes. 😂
I bought that exact console and had color soo...
Most likely the AV settings on your TV
That's a Nintendon't
Dude u got ripped off why don't you review something with value like the 500 in 1 nds multi cart from amazon
Hey I have that console too it's perfectly fine it's actually fun to play yur TV resolution is just wrong
Yea me too i get color
Some TVs have one set of inputs for Component and composite. There should be an option to change between the two input types
I used to ply my NES on a black and white TV so this replicates my experience.
I bought my grandson one who is 4yrs old and it plays perfect no hacks came with a hdmi plug and everything and I bought mines off Amazon.
I kinda like my fake nes. The colors are fine and it looks decent on the crappy little tv I paired it with. Would definitely recommend getting the snes variant though as the NES games included get boring or are weird obscure rom hacks.
Your tv is PAL, and your console is NTSC
I HAVE THAT CONSOLE!
Didnt know it's fake :L
Me neither 🥲
I had an idea, there are a few knockoffs, mabey someone should start collecting the knockoffs. and in the slight future give them to Cinemassacre for an AVGN episode or keep them saying "I have the least preferable collection in the world."
I honestly don't know where I was going with this comment
I bought this and returned it, because of a loud buzzing noise coming out of the speakers of my tv. I bought the Cool Baby 600 in 1 with hdmi, and like it a lot!
reality check the mini nes is also a fake nes
The no color video maybe is because your TV only has a component video and the console has composite video?? Idk, seems like that
I tried AV and Composite on my TV but no luck, AV had no signal. :(
Oh, you tried on an old CRT TV? :c
did you tried turning it off and on again ?? LOL 😂👍
zackington the bird no le entiendo...que dijo?? 😎
Probably not Roy.
My eyes nearly fell out of my head at this moment. My golly, another IT Crowd fan!
@@independentquebec3500 r u iz kool man supa snap krashing edukaton? Or u liv in nort untied status? Mmmmmm
I was fooled looking for the actual NES classic
I bought one back in 2016, arrived in 3 months or more, I think I paid the absolute lowest I could on a certain bidding site that's popular. Like $10 or $15 max, knowing it's kind of crap, because of those fake Mario ROM hacks of non Mario games. So I gave it to my friend, and I saw that he would appreciate it.
Westwoods should make a hand-held command and conquer game
The colour doesn't show up is because it was in PAL signal this box was probably NTSC
its not fake
.... odd... ive heard alot of horror stories that used EBAY ...not AMAZON .... odd
These are very common at the swap meet I frequent all the time
It's a decent el cheapo console, if you get the proper region and it don't matter if there are repeats as it has a lot of good games for a cheap price.
Maybe this run's on Pal and your tv is Ntsc and thats why you didn't get any color
The console might be outputting ntsc, while your tv may only support pal
I actually had one of these givin to me as a gift I thought it was crap and after 3 months it took it's rightful place in the garbage
He says he can't find a Mario has he's scrolling through Mario 10,11 and 12 lol
I'm very surprised that nobody has flooded the comment section with stuff like "KEEP THE CASE AND PUT A RASPBERRY PI INSIDE!!!!!!"
Seriously, I'm kinda offended.
Just a Famiclone without the slot! Why not order a Subor D99 or something for the Famicom look?
I have looked at that, will get further down the line. Thanks for watching as usual bud!
Brandon Salt you'll probably like Megadrive clones too, my favourite is called Megadrive X it looks like a white 'Genesis'3 and has region and 50/60Hz switch and unlike those awful ATGames clones it has good sound and works with Everdrive cartridge! Composite and mono sound though sadly ☹️
I'm capable of buying some pretty stupid stuff, but this is gonna be a pass for me. Cool styling though, must have a brilliant design team to create such an original console.
It has a problem with your TV because it's an American knock off not the UK version
The controller in bigger than the console XD
