Im afraid it does serve a purpose in rallying as it is a 106 maxi, peugeot homologtaed the 106 maxi for upto 1600cc rallying regulations at the time. Its just that this car, is not used for rallying and instead used for trackdays.

I have Group N suspension in my 106 GTi, haven't seen street car that handles better. Oh, there is maybe one car and that is my bro's 205 GTi with polybushes and coilovers. He also drives like maniac, it might be one of the reasons too.

sounds very much like the saxo kit car engines, over 200 bhp, @ 8500 rpm +.
just a 16v 1.6 PSA engine, heavily worked ;)
trans is usually Peugeot sport seq.

Used to own a mk3 vr6 and by far one of the best cars iv owned.
obv its heavier... obv it uses more fuel.
doesnt handle badly if you add coilovers and polybushes.
