    Probably a good shout to do a hike with the weight on your back to test it.
    I have a grab and go bag (house fire / get out quickly for an emergency for a few nights bag), and did a hike last year up Snowdon with the same weight on my back.
    Extreme test, but it was worth seeing what the weight is actually like for a long time on your back.
    Great content as always!

      If i may throw my thoughts in, there are levels to this, personally i started with a well stocked pantry as the shops running out/being unavailable seemed the most likely scenario. I was proven correct when all the toilet roll seemed to disappear haha. Foodwise its come in handy whilst the wife is job hunting, saves us having to buy everything. As for a grab and go kit, there are many likely scenarios where you just need to leave quickly and go stay in a hotel or at a friends for a one off event, doesn’t have to be the end of the world, so maybe just pack an over night kit and next time you go on holiday, you’ll have already started packing haha! Another couple of sensible things are: a black out kit, when the power goes out, you can easily grab torches/candles/batteries/headlamps. A well stocked first aid kit and a decent set of tools will sort most issues as well. If you’ve checked everything off that list, maybe then consider a full on bug out/ inch bag ❤❤

    Blimey geeza that’s a lot of stuff but this is your BOB I get it. Lots of redundancies apart from the added weight isn’t a bad thing considering what this bag is for.
    Braces not suspenders 😉haha!
    I’ve read through the comments, others and yourself have addressed the one thing that would be awesome improvement for yourself. I saw where you said you have hiked with this pack and fair play buddy that’s more than I’ve done but please improve your fitness. I’m no marathon runner just so you know 😉 If you can hike a few miles with this pack that’s impressive 💪🏻💪🏻 I wouldn’t be very comfortable haha!
    I like how you mention it a few times buddy again fair play and also the potential self defence in a SHTF.
    Sounds and looks like you put a lot of thought into the kit and what you would in a SHTF situation. Much respect 👍🏻👍🏻

    I commend you for your passion on this subject and I’m not trying to belittle you but that’s a lot of gear. Have you taken it out and rucked with it? Do you exercise? What type of shoes/boots and socks do you wear? The longest I ever went in one day was over 25 miles with a full pack and medical gear plus a weapon(shotgun) in Okinawa Japan and I was smoked at the end and I was 20 years old with no medical issues and I weighed 150 pounds. You have a lot of great ideas but to offer some advice I would start working exercising, losing weight and watching videos and reading books on the subject. Again not making fun of you or trying to give you a hard time but that is way too much gear and you have too many single use items.

  • @melaniexoxo

    I think your bag is great. You probably wont have a lot of hiking to do and in a survival situation a little extra body weight will help you. You’ll adapt to the weight of the pack after a couple of weeks if you’re not already.

      @@offtargetsurvivalandpreppi5283 Excellent my comment was based purely on your closing statement where you mentioned maybe having to ditch kit or could only carry for maximum 1hr. 1hr walking on average is only 3-4 miles, which isn't really that far when thinking in terms of I.N.C.H. Good presentation, newly subbed 👍🏻

    Nice kit but I always wondered if something were to happen serious enough for those in the UK to need to bugout and never come home where are you going to go? If vehicles/boats didn't work wouldn't you be trapped on the island more or less? Obviously I know this would completely depend on how the event went down but let's say total catastrophe.

    • @Lerpzoid
      @Lerpzoid ปีที่แล้ว +2

      This is the issue with the UK. There isn't exactly the option to bugout. We are a small island. Drop yourself in the middle of the biggest woodland in the UK, you're still what, a few hours walk from anything?
      My idea of a UK bug out bag is "you need to get out the house and stay with someone else for x amount of time."
      House fire, flooding or local issues for example.

    • @offtargetsurvivalandpreppi5283
      @offtargetsurvivalandpreppi5283  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I understand what yous are saying but in a really situation most people in the UK will stay in the towns an citys and the people who would bug out to less populated area will most likely be other preppers who will either group up or avoid each other an the small amount who might be a threat still are lot less dangerous than the thousands in the citys who are desperately trying to live witch I see as a bigger threat
