How ‘AGT’s’ Nightbirde Felt By Simon Cowell’s Reaction

- “America’s Got Talent’s” Golden Buzzer Recipient, Nightbirde, is more than just a terminal cancer warrior. The singer won over America’s hearts on the hit show on Tuesday when she sang an original song about her recent battles called “It’s OK.” The performance scored her a golden buzzer from notoriously firm judge, Simon Cowell. Access Hollywood’s Scott Evans caught up with the singer, who said the song was something she herself needed to hear. In 2020, Nightbirde was diagnosed with terminal cancer and given six months to live. Two weeks later, she said, her husband left her. “It was amazing that I found the healing that I found, but in the midst of it I had never felt so lost,” she said. The moving performance left the judges and the audience in awe. “It felt like I wasn’t the only one up there…that is what was so spiritual about it…it was about the triumph of the human spirit.” "AGT" airs on NBC on Tuesdays at 10/9c.

I bought into all this too, but im starting to have doubts about her really having cancer! The reasons are in a new video she is seen sitting on the floor and holding up a sign saying she is cancer free, in another video she repeatedly states how much she loves attention and will do anything to get it. Also odd, she just so happens to be now a “miracle” because she beat cancer.

I don't pay enough attention to Access to know him, but I was really impressed with this interview. He was so respectful and listened to what she was saying. And never once did the interview become "silly".

Fighting 8.5 years, terminal, 5 diagnosis, surgeries, treatments etc etc etc, hearing "It's important that everyone knows that I'm so much more than the bad things that happened to me." rings so loud! Another fighter once told me, "I may have cancer, but cancer doesn't have me." Words. All words. Absolutely love this. and..... "It's Okay" Thank You.

Fantastic interview! Scott Evans, whom I have never seen interview anyone before (because I don't watch Access Hollywood that often), did a brilliant job of getting right in there with Nightbirde in a very authentic, kind, respectful, and intimate way. The dynamic between the two of them was simultaneously very real and upbeat, full of appreciation, creating a revealing interview of this luminous, tremendously talented, skilled singer-songwriter. I love that she is honest enough with herself that she knows whether she's performed well or not so well. No false humility; just straight-up truth-telling. I wish her the very best life, and many years on this planet to live and share her wisdom and creativity with the world.
I’m SO glad he asked the question on why no one was at the AGT audition with her! It really bothered me that she was alone…although I knew who was there with her 😉

She is so amazing! Her perspective will change people for good beyond her imagination.
I'm 50 and this young woman has shown me the same positivity I tried to live when I went through cancer. She shows the impact that a positive attitude can have on those around her. I am amazed by her courage and her strength and she has been through far far far more than I went through when I was diagnosed and fighting it. So, kudoes to you, Nightbirde, you are an inspiration.
She is just so precious. So powerful in so many ways. Sad we will not have more of her here on earth. She was just getting warmed up...RIP

I have autoimmune disease that always lead me to depression every time it’s attacking me. After I watched you, I woke up, I decided to go on with my life and fight for it, and be grateful for everything. 2% is something. Every “gising” is a blessing. My progressive auto immune disease has drastically altered my life. Finished my 19th surgery yesterday. I am 44 Every day is a Blessing and I am ok even if I dont feel like it. Never give up hope.

I love this interview. The interviewer was relaxed and genuine and asked the right questions. All of these made Nightbirde at ease and answered them much better than other interviews I’ve watched.

I live in Ohio. 30yrs ago lost my 27yrold husband to cancer. 9months from diagnosis to burying him. Her story hit me so hard. Sorry her husband was weak I never left my husband side. I hope she is still here to possibly walk away with the win. No matter what happens she's already a winner.
I'm from Ohio myself. As the survivors of those we've lost this way, we have to try to be worthy of the privilege of life, no? I couldn't watch the entire interview because the memories are just too painful, but I do know what you went through. We're members of a club nobody wants to ever join. As my uncle died, I was there every day, and he asked me how I could be there so easily. I said, "I don't know how *not* to be here." You loved your husband. That simple.
They divorced 2 weeks after the diagnosis, things were obviously headed towards a brake up before the cancer. It would have only been out of pity if he stayed.

It's hard to believe, I remember her as a baby when she and her family lived across the street from me and my family, to see what she has gone through and who she has become. Wish I could meet her in person one more time just to give her a hug and to remind her that God will always be holding her hand.

No sadly I wasn't very close with her as she was a baby and I was 6-7 years old but i did know one of her brothers that was in my class. They are a very christian family and her dad is or was a lawyer in Zanesville but they moved out of the neighborhood like we did because it was going down hill fast with drugs and trash.

As a stage 4 metastatic breast cancer patient myself, I can’t put into words how incredibly brave and encouraging this beautiful ray of light 💡 is. I pray she has decades more to live. We need her gift and positivity. It’s horrible her husband left her it’s his loss. You truly know who your true friends and loved ones are when you’re faced with your own mortality.

I was stage 3. Life after has been very hard: the side effects and poverty. I had no money for fresh food and my low white blood cells went to low neutrophils in February. To have good finances makes a big difference.

Man this girl is so unbelievably raw and real; I rarely get to see people my age finally blossoming into themselves and this makes me feel so hopeful that I too can find my voice again and get back to the strong woman I once was.
