I am the Grandson of James & Alice Slevin of mullasiliago and my mother was Alice Slevin. I have been watching this video in memory of my mum, she passed away here in Redditch in Worcestershire on February 18th 2020. She was so proud to come from Fintona and always said you can take the girl from Fintona but never Fintona from the girl. She only ever had 1 regret in life and that was ever leaving. Watching this brings joy and sadness in equal measures, the sadness is that mum will never see her beloved Fintona again in this life. God bless you all, Dennis Gourley
Great to see this. I'll be moving back to Near Fintona this summer after 30 years away, and this brings back so many memories. I was at king Street school in p4 and 5 . Super memories of long sunny summers . My mum was Maureen o' Callaghan who was P1 teacher in st Lawrence's. A lovely wee town to grow up in.
Lovely video of my home town. 32 years away from it now but it will always be home. A great place to grow up in.....Fantsatic people... The entire town was our playground.The beautiful demense, The commons where we played football, King Street School, ......All great memories.........Can any of you young ones tell me where Brunswick row was? The Mill Dam? The Train Yard.. Baxters Pub?...
Grew up here, left in 74 and been travelling the world ever since, brought my kids back a few times and now looking forward to bringing back my grandkids.
My grandfather and his 3 brothers and one sister is from Fintona. I would love to know anything I could about this town. I have always wanted to go there.
