My Day 1 Sea Day Ritual...Sleep til 10:30 am...Go have Sea Day Brunch.... Come back from Sea Day Brunch and go Back to sleep... Anything after I wake up again is a bonus.😂
Now that sounds VERY familiar! I'm on holiday, so relaxing and having an extra doze is part of the reason I'm there😊 That said, I'll check what's going on the night before and get up if there's something specific.
I will never understand the hype about sitting in the sun on a sea day. You can do that anywhere likely with less crowds I’d much rather ride some slides enjoy the unique activities of the ship or hang out on the promenade/outdoor deck and watch the waves crash against the ship
We agree. We like to get a little sun on a sea day, but not spend all day in one spot. We tend to do the rides and slides on a port day, to beat the crowds, but enjoy other parts of a sea day. Thanks for watching. Happy Sailing.
I never sleep in on sea days. I take afternoon naps to recharge if needed. Many things to do and I like beating the crowds if there any activities I want to do. I stay on the ship on many port days and take advantage of the spas. I enjoy the dining room experience most times rather than the buffet. I have cruised many times on different cruise lines and thoroughly check out the daily activities scheduled so I can plan my days accordingly.
Love sea days. Routine always include breakfast, lunch, dinner, gym, a walk, relaxation by the pool, hot tube, some shopping, and a drink or two. I'm typically a late night person and late to rise, but on a cruise I do the opposite. Love getting moving in the morning and maybe in bed by 10ish - once in awhile a little later.
Like sea days. Like some port days, but, depends on where it is going. Like to be up early whether it is a sea day or port day. Don't like to sit out by the pool. Bug spray too. Need sunscreen and bug spray no matter where you go. Staying on board during a port of call could be nice. Depends on which port it is. Don't like bars. Do interact with members of the crew. Seeing a waiter/waitress from the MDR at a buffett does occur sometimes. Need to have something early. Like breakfast too. Eating on a cruise is something I enjoy. Some trivia contests are good. Like to play in the casino and explore the different areas of the ship. Depends on what is offered in the drink package. Like specialty coffees and have a glass of wine with a meal. Most cruise lines have the MDR open. Don't even wear shorts and/or t-shirt to MDR. Like to go to the gym. My wife likes the deck parties even though they are overcrowded and too noisy.
I’d love to know which ships these facilities, especially the spas, thermal suites, and other locations were filmed on. We’re D+ on Royal and have numerous cruises under our belts on Disney, Celebrity, Carnival, and a couple Norwegian and none of the favorites look that nice!
Unless you have a regular exercise routine that you want to maintain, going to the gym at *any* time on a cruise is a *big mistake.* I mean, look, exercise is good and all, but if the heaviest thing you've lifted in 10 years is your own fat blubber, then you go into the gym for what's really the first time in like forever, *you can injure yourself.* And that'll put a real damper on your vacation. The only exercise you need is a brief, brisk walk, and you'll probably do more than enough of that just trying find the different places on the ship you want to see. Trust me, no matter what it is you're looking for, when you get to that deck, it's going to be at the opposite end of the ship! And you'll have to *WALK THERE.* _Boom!_ you got your exercise.
I don't understand this video. You can look at the itinerary and plan your sleep around that. You're not going to do every thing on the itinerary.... unless you want to. I'm a younger Cruiser so in my experience lounge chairs tend to open up in the middle of the day and the pool area is less crowded because of that... Most people get up early on sea days and things start to become less crowded as the day goes on, until dinner time. Also, in my experience, spa is much cheaper to buy BEFORE the cruise starts than on port days.
Thanks for watching. These are just some tips for making the most of a sea day. Some cruisers like to do and see everything, some like to relax. From our experiences in mega ships, these are the easiest ways to stay ahead of everyone else onboard. Happy sailing.
Just got off a carnival cruise. My daughter and I saw crew members placing notes on chairs left unattended for a long time, and then picking them up to free up the chairs. So yes, they do.
In Puerto Rico I applied sunscreen to my face neck arms and legs then got dressed in shorts and a v neck tee. I had a lovely red v neck ring around my neck at the end of the day 😂
Don’t sleep in and get up early on vacation. Nope. It would feel like a work day if I’m stressing out yo get up early. And for a lounger close to the pool? Nope.
Great sea day tips. Just a Q on Room service ie having breakfast delivered to your room. Given a big ship long corridor and journey from the busy kitchen, by the time the food is delivered, coffee croissants sausages eggs etc are already cold and wrinkled and unappetising. Is it better to go to Cafe or dining room instead? You may bring coffee to room anyway.
We enjoy a good breakfast in the dining room on sea days. You can get a table for ypur group or dine at a lage table with others. Our one daughter gets grossed out within minutes of walking into the buffet.
We were just on a cruise on the day we are all on ship people are so rude the put towels on the chairs or maybe a hat with it saving their chairs but now they have got smart if the see if you are not back in 30 min.so other people can get a chair buffet people are very rude.they rush to to the buffet as they every will see food again. They take so much and not eat it seem to much waste
I’ve got limited mobility but don’t use a w/c. The ships, typically except the very upper deck with some limited sports areas are fully accessible for all of us. When will you be on Voyager?
Not everyone cares about getting a lounge chair on the pool deck. Whilee this is a nice video, not everyone has the same goals for enjoying a sea day as you do.

Agree
I like your style!
Love sea days, breakfast, second breakfast, third breakfast, brunch, lunch, second....😂😂😂
😂😂😂
Number one Suggestion, sleep in. I dont ever go to the pool deck, so not a problem for me. And second nap after brunch 😊
Thank You!! My sister and I rarely get off the ship and we love long cruises with lots of sea days.
My sister and I are the same, love port days also on the ship…
I 100% sleep in on a sea day, especially if I have a balcony. Who needs a pool chair when you can lounge in peace on your balcony?
Exactly!
My first cruise I was up at 7am on Seadays at the pool till 12 then lunch, change maybe grab a nap or something and then dinner and a show

Thanks for the helpful reminder tips when I would occasionally ignore.
Glad you found the video helpful. When is your next cruise?

A sea day is the worst time to be at the pool. We wait for port day at the pool he usually empty
Us too, but for those who do want to use the pool on a sea day, it’s best to get out early. Happy cruising.
HUGE mistake!
Thank you! Sea days are the time to sleep in and find a quiet deck when you do wake up!
So much great advice in here!! Thank you both for looking after our cruising community
I plan on hitting the gym for a solid workout on my two sea days in July.
That’s more than we do, lol. When’s the next cruise?

its your vacation. if you want to sleep in, SLEEP IN. Sure you might miss a 'prime' deck lounger, but I promise there will be OTHER loungers.
The best massages are at the ports of call and they are much cheaper
I was thinking that. I paid 25 dollars for a 30 min massage for 2 people in Cozumel
February 2024 Carnival Venezia had signs up claiming they would remove your stuff if you tried to mark seats.
No idea if they actually did.
Many ships do have these signs but enforcement is inconsistent. When is your next cruise?
I just sailed on celebrity ascent and they were definitely enforcing the rules.
I wish they would--I just came back from a RC cruise and could never get a chair by pool ever!

At .42, which ship is that thermal pool on? Thanks
I always skips breakfast and sleep in. I am on vacation.

Yep-I see that all the time too
You are presuming that everyone likes to sunbathe. My skin burns so as much as I like sun I can’t lie in it so hence do not need a sun bed
That is only one of the tips. What is your favorite thing to do on a sea day?
Sea day is nap day.
do you have tips for a wheelchair user on voyager of the seas???

😅😊I did My 1st cruise recently and was well informed from just educating myself..I take that 1st timer comment as a insult..😊😊
How did you like your first cruise?
First one is for old(er) people. Aint nobody trying to sit in a chair all day on a pool deck.
Right, that’s actually of the tips not to waste the entire day in the sun. Thanks for watching. When is your next cruise?

I do not like sea days....so I am good. LOL
Not everyone cares about getting a lounge chair on the pool deck. Whilee this is a nice video, not everyone has the same goals for enjoying a sea day as you do.
Of course, that’s why we have several different tips for all types of cruises. Happy sailing. When is the next voyage?
you don't need sun screen if you don't eat anything with seed and vegetable oils and eat a meat heavy diet.
Regardless of your diet we would always recommend some sun tan lotion.
Never sleep in, never have.
There is too much to do and see!
It’s a vacation. Some people get up early daily to go to work and look forward to relaxing and sleeping in while on vacation.
